ChiaPet

Awnser to your question

I hope I am doing this right. I am new to wikipedia. The reason why I changed Maltond population from 401,000 to 601,000 is because when you log in it says " Over 605,509 dead and rising" or something like that. So I made the population 601,000. And I changed russian decent because I have noticed also that a lot of russians have played this game and in other wiki topics had suburbs written about russian immigrants. So that is why I changed that. Thank you for not getting mad at me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by ChiaPet (talkcontribs) 12:23, 24 August 2007.

No problem dude. Yeah I know, but that number is the total amount of people who have created characters. I find the 'active' player count on the stats page is an ok place to source current population numbers. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:08, 24 August 2007 (BST)

I'm really sorry; I had no idea you were Australian. I struck out the offending section of my bid. As for your doubts... has my conduct over the last few weeks not been sufficient? Generatorkiller

further elaboration

I have been with Extinction for 4 months now, and only care about competitive gameplay and having fun. The reason why I have chosen not to interact with the zombie or wiki community on a large scale (and am therefore "not important") is due to the sheer amount of pathetic bickering that occurs. It seems that no-one is either willing (or capable) of debating a serious issue in a factual, non-emotional manner. I mean seriously, when you have the leaders of 2 of the largest zombie groups in the game spamming the design feedback page with an argument that degenerates into them both saying "blah blah blah" to each other, is it any wonder you don't see many of the more reasonable players bothering to interact with the supposed "elite" of the game? I'm surprised they aren't both receiving temporary wiki bans for spamming. --Generator killer 23:21, 27 August 2007 (BST)

Insomniac By Choice

Fort Creedy's Map

Forts have far too many graphics above the information itself. I don't have a problem with the map, it just takes up a lot of room and turns the whole thing messy. If you compare what it was before to Perryn's current state, I think you'll see what I mean. Most of those pictures are actually quite unhelpful, even to survivors which is the only people they apply to, and clutter everything up. If they're at the bottom or linked to, it's fine, but when you have to scroll down to even find the news (something that ideally, applies to everyone), that's bad. The change was mainly aesthetic, but overall beneficial. I'd concentrate on shrinking the map down a little rather than just sticking it up top.--Insomniac By Choice 02:03, 26 August 2007 (BST)

I see what you mean, however the grid location table must be at the top per location page policy. I would agree with moving the rest of the graphics (fort movement pictures and standing zombies) further down, while bringing news up to second place below the synopsis. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 02:10, 26 August 2007 (BST)

A Span for Every Occasion?

Ah, so perhaps you could elucidate me on the subject of the "span style" tag. I've used it to change the color of text, and though I haven't yet tackled color-filled tables, I imagine that the help files should be adequate for that, when I need it. However, I noticed that you used another "span" tag recently, "stealthexternallink", and it made me wonder what other useful "spans" are out there... --Morgan Blair 13:23, 19 August 2007 (BST)

Scrolling is Spam?

So, I can use an
overflow
function
set
to
"scroll,"
but if I try to set the "overflow" to "a-u-t-o", so that I don't have the horizontal scroll-bar when it isn't needed, the wiki tells me the following:

The page you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter. This is probably caused by a link to an external site. The following text is what triggered our spam filter: overflow: "a-u-t-o"

What's up with that? I even have to put dashes in "auto" when it's being used in the quote! --Morgan Blair 22:55, 7 September 2007 (BST)

Another Sig

Hey Dux! Saw somewhere you were having an issue with a new sig and thought I'd check it out... Wasn't quite sure what you were doing with the CSS inside the [[]] brackets at first, but figured it out soon enough... man, per-element CSS is ugly, isn't it? Anyway, basically it looks like was a tag nesting issue. Cheers! ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 13:50, 3 August 2007 (BST)

Opacity

Well, CSS opacity definitely works on the wiki (see my sandbox). The problem is that opacity affects everything inside an element, including text. There are two workarounds: fancy stuff with <div>s, and PNG backgrounds with alpha channels. This Mozilla page does a straightforward job of explaining both. Obviously, instead of using the stylesheet definitions, you'll need to cram the CSS into style parameters, but such is life on a wiki... ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 07:05, 6 August 2007 (BST)

ASS

By taking it too far, we mean that 73 put the deletions page up for deletions, and then when a sysop tried to remove the "humorous" request, Nalikill continued to revert the Ops' reverts, leading to Haggie banning Nalikill, which was somewhat within his jurisdiction, and then banned 73, which everyone thought it was out of line for Haggie to do that. There then came a Misconduct case against Haggie for it, which I believe the outcome was that Hag punished himself how he saw fit. At least I think thats how it happened. :D-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 19:58, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Dupe of Removed???

What on earth are you thinking? If a removed suggestion can be linked to as a dupe, what is the point of ever removing something? You'd just let it finish voting, with the EXACT same effect (plus more work for the folks who process suggestions). SIM Core Map.png Swiers 14:31, 27 August 2007 (BST)

Eh I suppose so, I wasn't really awake while I voted. Besides, I've had the same thing happen while I hade a suggestion under development. Some ass ripped all of my hard work (I mean, word for word!) and simply 'credited' me at the bottom. At the time I knew the suggestion wasn't finished and it promptly was spamminated, however it was still my suggestion. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 20:14, 27 August 2007 (BST)
