Hi! Just a few ground rules.
- Please put newer entries at the top of the relevant section.
- If you need to create your own section for some strange reason, place it at the top as well and mind the headings.
- The Drama Llama has not been necessary so far, I want to keep it that way.
- If I came to your talk page, let's keep the conversation there. If you came here, this is where I will respond.
Thanks! ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 01:35, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

I ended up on your page today somehow and was motivated to make mine a tad bit better. That has been the second time you have motivated me to do better so I just wanted to say thanks.-- ZIPO/ Talk /◆◆◆/ CAPD 15:05, 16 May 2009 (BST)
Anything we need to know while we visit your lovely area? Asheets 19:27, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- It's pretty quiet around the area right now; the Mall Tour passed through a couple weeks back but there are only about 10 zeds or so. I'd also ask that you don't write over any graffiti starting "Liz sez" or any of the Blackwatch tags. Beyond that, nothing special. Welcome! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out! ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 19:50, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Animated NecroWatch Scans
Extropymine... since you're the one that recruited me for NecroWatch, I'm coming to YOU with a problem... I'm trying something new with the Dewes NT scan... specifically, since they're anticipating an attack, I'm trying to do hourly NecroNet scans and post them. But, not just post new ones, animate the old ones so you can see a progression of what happens. Obviously, I can't spend forever on it, so it won't be updated overnight or when I'm gone, but... does this count as multiple scans? Or one scan for the list? I don't want to run up the tab just because, nor open a hole for people to get their awards, but I'm curious what official policy would be. Please advise here! via my talk page (or here, if need be.) --BLusk 20:55, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- Heya, BLusk! Well, the official answer to your question is "every scan that is significantly different from the previous scan counts." Which is to say, we don't want people taking a scan every 10 minutes just to rack up their count, but then again, a scan every 10 minutes during a major siege might be useful and important! It's a judgment call on the part of the NTechnician. If you take a scan an hour for a day, and nothing much happens, then use your best judgment-- award yourself 3 or 4 scans, since a scan every 6 hours is certainly an acceptable rate. However, if your 24 scans clearly show a horde move in and start acting? Heck, count them! Oh, and if that happens, you should also post up the animated scan on the talk page cause I bet people would love to watch it!
- Now, the other thing I'll mention to you is that (as you probably know), normal NT Scans are .png files. You've probably already changed the scan template for your animated .gif so it will display properly. But when you're done with this project, remember to change it back to .png so it doesn't confuse the next NTech who does a scan there.
- Good luck with this! It sounds like a cool idea! ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 06:37, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the approval, and I'll be sure to change it back when all is said and done. It seems like a fun way to make useful information out of snapshots in time. BLusk 14:57, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Hello Extropymine ... can i ask you some help to make a better userpage?.ok thanks--(x)AlvaromesaTalk | Bacardi |MPD | Malton Public Radio 20:16, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hi again! Sure, I can sure try. What sorts of things were you interested in trying out? Here are a few of my favorite Userpages:
- Do any of those pages look good to you? ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 21:21, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- User:Iscariot is cool...but i want to find some to put my alts..like different character of me..is dificult..like your userpage.--(x)AlvaromesaTalk | Bacardi |MPD | Malton Public Radio 00:30, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I tell you what. Go ahead and tell me the character names, and find a nice picture to represent each one, and I would be more than happy to set up pages for them to get you started. I can also make you a character bar to display on your main user page. ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 00:35, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
OK... my characters are Lt Mesa(Mpd image or my banner) Adrian mesa(C.A.P.D) and alvaromesa(fuerza latina) you can put simple imagges and after that i edit to put my images ..no problem?--(x)AlvaromesaTalk | Bacardi |MPD | Malton Public Radio 10:46, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- All right, I just made a big ol' edit to your user page. If you like it, just play around with the images and text until it's what you want. If you don't like it, roll it back. ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 19:27, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
wow...fantastic...really thanks a lot..thanks fot the contribution Extropyme .. i really love it!.--(x)AlvaromesaTalk | Bacardi |MPD | Malton Public Radio 22:41, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- You're welcome! The stuff you still need to do is go through that and do things like add links to your character profiles and the date you first started playing, things like that. You also may want to re-format your headings and such, but that's up to you! ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 23:42, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Project Necrowatch
Thanks for the post regarding joining the NW project. I believe I have followed all relevant steps to join and I have posted up my first report on the Maver Building, Edgecombe. Could you confirm for me that all is in order and I haven't missed or forgotten anything that I should be doing. There is an awful lot to read and I'm on a lunch break. I think I did it all right but if you can come back to me and let me know I would appreciate it. Also...do I get to add a snazzy NW to my Sig just like yours? ^_^ ƦedeyeϧyϮ MDK | NW 12:30, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- The Maver Building looks great, and your join post on Talk:NecroWatch is just fine. Mobius will add you to the membership roster, and then you can either update your own running NT count, or you can just go about your merry business and Mobius will do it every few days during his regular maintenance. And of course, you can put anything you like into your signature! Welcome aboard! ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 15:25, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

- I'm sorry, you lost me a little. What exactly have I done? ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 02:45, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, this is regarding suggestion voting. Only the creator of a current suggestion may reply to votes on it, and only the original voter may reply to that. this is not on, it clutters everything. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 03:07, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, yes-- understood. Thanks for the heads' up. I thought you were referring to one of my more recent votes, and I was worried since I've been trying to reign myself in over the last couple weeks. Thanks for coming by to mention it to me-- I appreciate the civility of a note on a talk page as opposed to immediately running to vandal banning, as I see some other users do every day for every imagined offense. ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 03:22, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Salutations
Hello, I am Citizen VI of the Philosophe Knights, and also Mr. Valere Lenoir while working with the NecroWatch. I've been taking note of your scanning efforts while completing a scan run of South-West Malton, and, seeing your classy wiki page, thought I'd drop by to say hello. I generally represent the Philosophe Knights, being a senior member of our leading body, but I come here by a personal vocation, as a potential friend, so if you are not appreciative of the more... esoteric methods of pædagogy I assure you: you need come no closer than you are. I'm greatly impressed by your work with the Four Corners, and when Valere has graduated from the College of Medicine, in which he will shortly enroll, I'd love to come down and help out in any way I can. I have a number of scientific experiments I intend to run, but there's no reason I can't do them in any particular location.
Anyway, it's great to see someone as creative and driven as you, and I'm glad to made your acquaintance. -- — Citizen VI 01:14, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you, VI. I'm already an admirer of the Knights, who bring an amount of class to the pvp game that many other groups lack. It was actually Valere's "NT Progress Map" that got me started thinking about a template NecroWatch could use for its members, but unfortunately yours is just an uploaded image, so I had to use something a little more crude. I've been taking more and more baby-steps here on the Wiki, having learned very quickly about the remarkable amount of drama that gets flung about, but I've been getting more comfortable. Thank you for stopping by, and your friendship is warmly welcomed. ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 01:24, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
| A.L.I.C.E. - NecroNet 2.0
|
| Greetings Extropymine. I have been observing you. Do not be alarmed. I have analyzed your potential and determined that you would make a perfect test subj<<ERROR>> NecroTechnician. As an organization, NecroWatch requires absolutely no "group" affiliation or commitments, thus freeing you to act according to your own motives, desires, and goals. The only requirement from you as a NecroTechnician is the task of reporting NecroNet scans from facilities within your suburb(s). Even then you would have the choice of how often you complete this task or which facilities you would prefer to work with. If you are interested in joining all you need to do is confirm your membership by signing up here. Starting on January 1st 2008 all NecroNet scans reported to NecroWatch by licensed NecroTechnicians will count towards ranks with the ultimate prize of earning delicious cake.

[edit] Welcome to our Wiki
Hi Extropymine! As we can see, you made your first edits to this wiki not long ago. It's OK to be new, and we encourage new blood to join and enrich our community. At the same time, we understand that no one is a perfect wiki editor straight off the bat, and, just in case you get stuck, here're some useful tips to help you out. Please take the time to read them.
| General Editing
|
- Never delete someone else's edits, comments, responses, etc. off community pages. To do so is considered vandalism.
- If you write a comment it's useful to sign it so that other editors will know who wrote it. You can write "
~~~~" at the end of your comment to sign it, or there's this button on the top of the edit page that will sign for you if you want.
- You may want to know how your edits will look before they have been saved, to make sure that nothing is wrong. Use the "Preview" button before the "Save" button - it's your friend!
- If you're slow in your editing and there's an editing conflict, you might not understand the error that you get. The easiest way to overcome the edit conflict is to copy whatever you have been writing, go back with your browser, and then re-enter the edit page so that you can add your edits without deleting those made before yours.
- The wiki is a collaborative project, please do your best to work well with fellow editors.
Further help for editing the wiki can be found on the Help page.
| Your User Page
|
|
One of the great things about the wiki is that every user can have his or her own user page! These pages are located in the User: namespace — in other words, they all begin with "User:" (yours is User:Extropymine). The appropriate place to write about yourself or your characters is on your user page, or a subpage of that page (e.g., User:Extropymine/Your Character's Name). Please don't create pages about yourself outside the User: namespace. Those pages will be moved into subpages of your user page, and the original speedily deleted. If you want something to be deleted, use the speedy deletion page; that's why Criterion 7 was made.
|
| User Talk Pages
|
|
Every user has a talk page, found by clicking the "discussion" link at the top of his or her user page, or by going directly to it (yours would be User talk:Extropymine). If you have a question for someone, or want to say something to him or her, his or her user talk page is the place.
However, many users on the wiki have established specific guidelines for how their user talk pages are to be treated — where new comments should go, how they should be written, what is or is not okay to talk about, etc. Be sure to look for guidelines on the talk page before you leave a comment.
If you don't see any guidelines specified, the assumption is that you should place your comment at the bottom of the talk page, under a level 2 heading. This can be accomplished by clicking the "+" link next to the "edit" tab at the top of the talk page, or by manually typing in your message in this format:
==Message title== Your message goes here
When replying to a comment already laid on the page, remember to indent it correctly: do it by inserting as many colons plus one to the message you're replying to at the begining of your message, like this:
==Message title==
Your message
:User's reply
::Your reply
| The Suggestions Page
|
|
We know that as a new user, you want to share your ideas with us. But a community as big as ours has already seen all kind of suggestions, and it's possible that we've already seen something very similar to the ideas you have. Follow these simple guidelines to make sure that your suggestion gets the respect that it deserves:
- We strongly recommend that you read the Suggestions Dos and Do Nots and the Frequently Suggested Ideas pages so that you will have an idea of what kind of suggestions are likely to be accepted and what kind are ridiculous in the eyes of the community. The pages might look long and time-consuming to read, but you will find them entertaining and helpful.
- You might also want to look at the Previous Days Suggestions. These contain a record of all previous suggestions. Use the search function in your browser to search for keywords relating to the suggestion you want to make.
- It may be helpful to wait a few days to get a feel for the wiki and the other users before subjecting your idea to any possible criticism. If you're unsure, the Suggestions Discussion page is good neutral territory to suggest, gather feedback, and refine your idea before officially submitting it.
- Write your suggestion according to these steps. If it looks too complicated for you, ask for help.
- You can't modify a suggestion that you've written once it has been posted on the Suggestions page. You can withdraw and resubmit it with changes later, but only do that if people liked your original suggestion while requesting changes, not if it was Spaminated.
- If you get stuck at ANY point in writing your suggestion, ask for help. There's no shame in being new and after a few times, you'll get the hang of it.
|
Remember: These guidelines may look difficult to learn and follow, but they're mainly just common sense! Think about what you're going to say or do before you do it! If you don't make an effort to do so, then why would others have the obligation to be nice to you? Feel free to ask any Project Welcome member if you need help, that's our purpose anyways!
If you want to delete this text, just delete the {{Welcomenewbie}} line from your talk page. Remember that you can always have access to these tips on the Project Welcome/Welcomenewbie page.
