Is this an actual wiki user, or just a UD character?--Mia K (sotss) 12:06, 12 April 2006 (BST)

Hawkstrap is a UD character, but also happen to have an account here (jalbobble). This is not a real life. The person who plays Hawkstrap has never been to Malton, or fought non-imaginary zombies.
Sorry for shattering the dream.
That's not what I meant. It is typically considered bad form to make a user page for your UD character. Unless this is an actual user account, please move the image on this page to your user page, and put this page up for deletion. Also, please sign your text by adding "--~~~~" at the end. --Mia K (sotss) 23:13, 14 April 2006 (BST)

Personal pages belong on the users Userpage, not on a fake userpage. I have, as a result, moved the page here. --Grim s-Mod 18:48, 23 April 2006 (BST)

That's weird- most people are able to have pages devoted to characters on urban dead. --Jalbobble 16:32, 24 April 2006 (BST)

No, they arent. Please check the Speedy Deletions page rules. You have your own userspace for your characters. Please place them there instead of creating a different page for them. --Grim s-Mod 17:42, 24 April 2006 (BST)

Is this an Urban Dead thing or a Wiki thing? No other Urban Dead member seem to be having this trouble. Also, using Hawkstrap instead of User:Hawkstrap isn't hurting anyone, is it?--Jalbobble 18:15, 24 April 2006 (BST)

Its a wiki thing. You place whatever you write on your userpage. You can get quite artistic if you like. The reason, apart from easy information access, would be to save server space, this wiki is Gigantic. Personal pages are regularly moved to userpages once they are found and the original location deleted to save space and prevent a buildup of dead pages. --Grim s-Mod 18:39, 24 April 2006 (BST)

Okay, that's fine. How does having a Hawkstrap page and a Jalbobble page change the amount of server space? --Jalbobble 18:48, 24 April 2006 (BST)

Jalbobble… I'm gonna put this succinctly and cruely: The reason "No other Urban Dead member seem to be having this trouble." [sic] is a because there is a backlog of simpletons to reprimand. If someone signed up as User:Hawkstrap, they could request that a moderator delete whatever you had there, and they'd be fully within their rights.
Hell, it's not like Grim didn't tell you where you could find the rules, and it's not like there aren't enough links on the front page to the various policies. By the way, it does hurt someone - Kevan. Hosting Urban Dead and it's wiki is burden enough on the hip pocket, without pointless pages being created, taking up room and slowing down the server.
As a final note: do not delete a moderator's comments, not mere minutes after they leave them there. –Xoid STFU! 18:56, 24 April 2006 (BST)
Its another page. --Grim s-Mod 18:56, 24 April 2006 (BST)

Sweet Zombie Jesus… Grim s, Jalbobble, Cyberbob240… can you guys PLEASE stop overwriting each other's comments? –Xoid STFU! 19:02, 24 April 2006 (BST)

Huh? The only thing that happened with me was that I wrote a comment, then thought better of it and deleted it. No overwriting there. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 19:12, 24 April 2006 (BST)
Oh really, Cyberbob240… –Xoid STFU! 19:21, 24 April 2006 (BST)

I didn't mean to delete it and I've been trying to get them back since I did it (I also deleted my comment). I got confused because I wasn't sure how much the Wiki rules applied to Urban Dead's area as I was under the impression that Urban Dead had purchased its own server space or something (I think a friend told me that). I haven't argued with Grim over it, I have just been interested in the logic behind it. I'm oddly curious about that sort of stuff. There's no need to be mean, Mr. Xoid. I may have been a simpleton, but never an aggressive or rude one (I hope). Regards --Jalbobble 19:05, 24 April 2006 (BST) (thanks for telling me about the name signy thing, Grim :))

Don't worry, you're not the only one who isn't aware of how the edit conflicts windows works…
The reason I'm angry at the moment, is that this is pretty much straight off the bat of about 20 or 30 such pages and redirects that I've found and listed for speedy deletion. Some of which were recreated in a similar fashion — out of ignorance.
I know you didn't argue with Grim, I was merely frustrated because you were not reading between the lines. Sheer blunt agression did apparently manage to get the point across, and I'm sorry for being an ass, but I didn't think this was going to end quickly any other way. –Xoid STFU! 19:21, 24 April 2006 (BST)
