Great!! u dont know how i fight with this PC to learn PHP lol i use to make webpages with HTML lol

anyway, how i can get to be in the confirmed groups? or in the categories, who edits that wiki pages?

I'm not an expert, but I believe your group will become a "confirmed group" when you have at least 10 members with your group name in their group on their character's profile. (make sure everyone spells it the same and uses the same capital letters! They must be identical!) You have to wait until the group stat page is run again and this will happen automatically. I think the stats page is renewed once a day. You can find a link to it on the main page of the Wiki.
As far as the being categorized as a group, you will need to put this:"Category:Groups" inside double brackets (without the quotation marks) on your group wiki page. It will not show up on the page, but it will place you in that category. You might also want to put "Category:Human Groups" (inside double brackets and without the quotation marks) on your page, as well. Good luck! Oh! and I understand what you are talking about! I did a bit of HTML coding before and the Wiki confused me quite a bit when I started working on it! You'll pick it up after you've worked with it a while! --Lois talk 10MFH 17:42, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

The Recrutiment ads

I'm pretty sure with the C category it was because one of the tables wasn't closed (see this.) If that's not the problem, then it may be due to a small screen (I've got a big one which solves a lot of these on it's own.)

Secondly, again, I think that auto sizing is using this code: {|align="left" style= "border:RoyalBlue 2px solid; width:600 px" (or simply width 25px.) In a table:

Testing >.>

Hope that helps! Linkthewindow  Talk  19:25, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Argh!!! I knew that C category issue was something simple I wasn't seeing! It's fine now. Thank you. Am I right that using "width:100%" adjusts it to fit the screen or what would that do, then? (and... wouldn't that be acceptable as an alternative to using the 600px width? That is - it wouldn't result in an ad that was 600px wide unless a person had a particularly small screen but it wouldn't cause a person to have to scroll right to see the rest of the ad. (and if this is making no sense at all, just let me know.) I presumed that was what was meant by "auto sizing" under the heading Format for Advert Content... --Lois talk 10MFH 20:19, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Recruitment Ad: Image Too Large?

I wanted to inquire about the reason why the BAR's recruitment ad was removed. In your post on their Talk wikipage the reason cited was "image is larger than 76,000px". I wanted to clarify this as the image in question has a file size of 58,627 bytes. Unless you are referring to the dimensions (400x313px in the ad, 545×427px actual). Please let me know so that I can adjust the image accordingly, if required. Thanks. --Mobius 23:24, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

The dimensions are what I was referring to. (which is why I referred to pixels instead of bytes but I suppose using the term "size" was deceiving) Unfortunately, the rather outdated rules on the Recruitment page state "Images are limited to a total of 76,000 pixels, which allows 275 pixels square, or a similar area (multiple images that total under this size are allowed)." --Lois talk 10MFH 01:21, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

DK13

Before the Recruitment page was broken by petty users there used to be two people who maintained that page. Whitehouse and myself. I do not recall approving any advert. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 05:42, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm sure that neither you nor Whitehouse would have made an exception to the stated rules for one group. It would have started a landslide of groups expecting the same consideration. I believe DK13 was under the impression that new rules concerning the ads were going to be instated. Obviously they underestimated just how long it takes to come to a consensus on anything here on the Wiki. *rolls eyes*--Lois talk 10MFH 10:26, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Ever since a certain user broke the rules to that page and broke it I've not been. I spotted your situation through Boxy's talk page which is on my watchlist. At no point dd I know of us 'approving' any ad, and certain zero exception were ever made. All ads were treated equally when I was running the page in accordance with the guidelines. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 11:10, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Great Suburb Massacre 2009 - Rotter's Relief

Our Group Suburb Listings were removed under the assumption that we are no longer active. This is not so as we have an active forum that have new posts everyday or every two days. We believe that assumption as mentioned above was made as our wiki does not show that we are active. We are OK with that oversight (hopefully it doesn't occur again =D), but please be aware that we are always around to revive those in need and give them a chance to breath once more. Forgive me if the tone was a little too harsh as it was not intended. Cheers! --natakaasd, Rotter's Relief Co-Administrator --Natakaasd 08:16, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Let me explain how we do a "Suburb Massacre": We go to the group talk pages of every group that is listed on each suburb and leave a small template asking if the group is active. Nothing is done for 2 weeks while we wait for a response. If none is received we place another template on the group page explaining that the group will be removed from the suburb page - and then we do so. We do not try to contact a group through any other means because we don't have the time nor the volunteers to do so. You are welcome to add your group back to the suburb pages where it belongs. If you require help, please let me know. --Lois talk 10MFH 10:31, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I'm aware how it is done. Regarding "response", how do we get around doing it? Leaving a note in your (and other Massacre Moderators) talk page, or in our Group page, Or attach the "Group Active Template"? This is the part which I'm a little confused, and of course, we don't expect you guys to come all the way to our forums to inform us, though we really rarely visit the wiki. =P
Lastly, yes again. Help is greatly appreciated to put our group back in the listings as we don't have many people apt in it, and those who are, are currently busy with IRL matters.
Thanks for your response as it was greatly appreciated. Cheers!
--natakaasd, Rotter's Relief Co-Admin
--Natakaasd 01:17, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
For future reference, all you need to do is to leave a note on your talk page right below our template. We come back around later on to check for a response and then remove any groups who haven't responded.
I'll replace your group on the suburb pages later on today when I have time. Am I correct in assuming that you are in Houldenbank, Owsleybank, Stanbury Village, Wyke Hills and Millen Hills? If I'm wrong let me know and I'll correct my errors. --Lois talk 10MFH 11:52, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

You Are A More-Than-Acceptable Human Being

I just discovered your existence on the wiki and thought you should know that I feel you are an above-average human being in every good sense of the word. I also had a SERIOUS craving to edit this wiki and felt that this would be a safe, effective, and possibly beneficial method of doing so. I then spent a solid 20 minutes for an appropriate template to attach to the end of this message, and failed.

Have a good day. --Pyrranha 22:05, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

P.S. Yes I have attention deficit disorder, why do you ask?

Dunno.. is the image size alright? :/ The code looks ok to me, but I'd like to change the images' background to that UD green. Do you know how to do that by any chance? --Janus talk 14:00, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes - I can do that, but... um, what group ad are you referring to? Your link in your first sentence refers me back to my own talk page. Oh - and I can't work on anything like that until I get home from work (after 6PM EST) as I don't have any decent programs on my work comp and have to access the Wiki through a proxy and.. it's all much easier on my home comp. But! Give me the group and I'll work on the image and place it in my sandbox and we can tweak it to what you want, then! (fun!!) :D --Lois talk 10MFH 14:18, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
And yes - I am getting way too excited about this, but I love working on stuff like this! --Lois talk 10MFH 14:20, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
No worries! Here's my group and the wannabe-recruitment-ad. I'm talking about the seals' background color. Thanks :D --Janus talk 14:58, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Oooo! I like this! I'll see if I can change the background on those seals when I get home tonight! I have a feeling that it'll be easy! *crosses fingers* --Lois talk 10MFH 15:04, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Ok. I added the UD green background to the seals (I hope they look alright to you - they were a bit of a bugger!), uploaded them and added them to your ad. Then, I adjusted the width of the ad so it will comply with the guidelines and adjusted the size of the images so they will comply. It is in my sandbox. If you like it that way, then just copy it and paste it where you want it. (If you want to play with it, then you can copy it to your sandbox and work with it) Let me know if there is anything else I can do! --Lois talk 10MFH 02:25, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Perfect! Thanks. :D --Janus talk 16:21, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Knights Templar ad removal?

Could you tell what rules were violated with our ad please?Roddy Winters 22:22, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

As I explained on your group page:
1. The image in your ad is too large. The guidelines (at the top of the Recruitment ad page) state: "Images are limited to a total of 76,000 pixels, which allows 275 pixels square, or a similar area". Your image is 300px by 337px or 101,100 pixels.
2. You may not place your code for the ad directly on the Recruitment page. You must create another page (most groups use GROUPNAME/recruit) and place your code there. Then you refer to that page (as if it were a template) on the Recruitment page. There is a guide here that explains how to do this.
3. You must include a timestamp so we know when the ad was placed. It must be updated at least every 2 months to keep your ad on the Recruitment page.
--Lois talk 10MFH 02:35, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
The Knights Templar Advert has been reworked. Please check it out and let us know if we have it right this time. Also, I did not remove the old hidden one because I'm not sure of the rules regarding such. Thank you, -AbSent 07:26, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
We're real close. You had left a space after the image width, so I removed it which causes the image to adjust to your width of 275px. The only problem is that since the image is not square, a 275px width gives you a length of 309px or 84,975 pixels. This is just a tad too large. I've experimented and if you adjust that width to 260px, then the length changes to 292px which gives you 75,920 pixels. This would put it down where it should be to comply with the rules. Everything else looks good. I've left your ad on the page in anticipation of the change I just mentioned. I've also removed the previously hidden ad. Thanks! --Lois talk 10MFH 10:29, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Image now reduced to 260 px. Thank you very much for your help. The Knights Templar salutes you in honor. -AbSent 10:42, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

MacAddict not sighted in Gulsonside?

Icarus Fountain, Steve Arnold, Pooopo Bob, Ukimalefu, and Ltbird have all been in or around Blesley Mall for months now, fighting daily with the persistent PKer problem. Just wondering why our group was removed from the Gulsonside wiki page. --Icarusfountain 19:20, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Please refer to your group talk page under the header: The Great Suburb Massacre, 2009. Back in February, a group of us went to each group talk page for each group listed on a suburb. We asked if they were active. 2 weeks later we went back through and if we did not get a response, the group was removed from the suburb.
This is done periodically to keep the Wiki as up-to-date as possible.
Since you are active, you may add your group back to the suburb page. If you want help with that, let me know and I'll gladly do it for you. --Lois talk 10MFH 19:26, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

As a member of a relatively new group, I'm unsure of exactly how to get our group back to "active" status after the Group Active? and Group Inactive? deadlines have passed. Greetings

Skull n syringes.gif

Some time back, by CRES Doctor noticed the The Big Prick was beginning to stagnate, leading him to put out a call for individuals interested in helping TBP move forward. I have volunteered my services to help this happen. In my humble opinion, the idea behind the formation of TBP was among the more unique in Malton's history. In its time, it broke up the monotony that was quickly setting in and gave adventurous individuals a chance to try something new. It also helped de-stigmatize people regarding combat revives and make Malton a place where those of dual nature could have a chance to explore their separate agendas. As many of these issues are not as large as they once were, it may seem we have reached a time when Malton no longer needs The Big Prick. I say, it's not all about being needed. Do you still enjoy reviving zombies? Is your first response at a break-in to check for brain rot? Mine is. Being a prick is not a job, it is part of who we are, and though it may not need us in the same way that it once did, with the rise of Apathy and the decline of survivor groups in Malton, the city cannot afford to lose the Big Prick. Accordingly, I have begun reworking some of the format of TBP pages including a retool of the main page and the introduction of and achievement system that will let pricks gain recognition on their own time on their own terms. As a person who still chooses to fly the colors of TBP, I would appreciate your feedback on my talk page or on the TBP forum. Thank you for your time and may your syringes never be blunted. --Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  Friday, 31 August 2012
