Welcome!

Hi Mike rus! I noticed your recent edit to Martha General Hospital's DangerReport, and wanted to officially welcome you to UDWiki on behalf of Project Welcome! If you have any questions or need any help, don't hesitate to contact anyone on that page, or message me directly at my talk page. And if you want to see where your DangerReport updates go, check out the Danger Center - it collects all the reports in Malton into one map! Have a great day! West Grayside status

Hey, I was curious about your recent edit to set West Grayside to be Dangerous, rather than Very Dangerous, and was wondering what the basis for that change was. The definition for Very Dangerous is "Most buildings wide open or zombie-infested; OR hostile zombie mobs of 150+." Considering Big Bash 4 (a zombie mob that has 150+ characters in it) only began to leave the suburb a few hours ago (due to a lack of things to eat), I think it's safe to say that the suburb qualifies as Very Dangerous, if not due to the zombie presence, then surely due to the fact that the place is almost entirely ruined. In fact, I did a courtesy scout of the suburb after we announced our departure, and I updated the danger reports as I went along. If you simply check the Danger Center, it'll be apparent that the vast majority of the suburb is still ruined (we missed eating a few places on the west side, but they're the exception). EMRPs and suburb danger

Hey Mike rus. Looking at your recent suburb danger edits, it looks like you've been basing suburb danger levels on External Military Reports. I see a couple of problems. The first is that EMRs are historically bad reference points for determining a suburb's danger level. Mainly because the EMRs don't include zombies inside buildings or overall ruin/rebuilding state. It does not take into account survivors standing at revive points. Secondly, I think you may be misinterpreting what moderately dangerous means. Several of the suburbs you've updated have associated EMRs which state "...about a dozen zombies...just wandering around...structures in tact...a lot oflights on" yet you've changed the suburb danger from "safe" to "moderately dangerous". Surely, that small amount of zombies "just wondering around" in a suburb "'in tact" with "a lot of lights" doesn't constitute a change form safe to moderately dangerous. Anyway, please be more conscienious of danger level reporting. On-the-ground reporting and a good knowlege of what "green" "yellow" "orange" and "red" means will help with accurate reporting. ~Vsig.png 15:29, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey! As someone who has updated many suburb danger levels based on EMRs in the past, I'd like to chime in. In general, I only change a suburb from green to yellow if either 1) the report lists at least a dozen zombies with some clear damage taking place, like "a few buildings with lights on" or "some minor structural damage"; or 2) the report lists at least two dozen (normally closer to 30) zombies, even if it says "intact" or "a lot of lights on". In general, the rule of thumb is not to change a danger level based on an EMR unless it's clearly in a different category, like a suburb listed as yellow getting an EMR that says the suburb is empty of zombies and everything is intact (in which case it's clearly green).
