Yagoton Revivification Clinic

Msg: Thanx for the help, it does look neater :-D Regards Chris dk

Msg: I got your message and now you've made me curious :)

Is there any way to officially join the Yagoton Revivification Clinic? I'm thinking that's going to be something my levels can be of use to. I won't have too much time to dedicate (I wasn't playing this game all too religiously), but peering around in the game once every 30 hours should be in it, which would, I suppose, mean peering around the Rev' Point maybe every two days?

Would that be acceptable and wanted? I'd do it without a membership tag, too, if the timeframe sounds all right to you.

Best regards,

-pinkgothic 17:59, 15 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Re: The clinic doesn't really HAVE an offical registration method; that's pretty much how it keeps running so smoothly...and how I managed to find myself currently alive and busy, frankly. Just slap 'Yagoton Revivification Clinic' into your member profile if you'd like, though you by no means even need to do that. It's a community event, but doing so helps keep track of total membership which is just a nice addition.

Any time you can spare is appreciated, and you can take pride in knowing your efforts work for the greater good. Visit the core Wiki site for a more detailed list, but what the clinic needs in short are surgical staff to revive those who are without Brain Rot, security staff to remove those who do have Brain Rot as well as to assit in local construction of nearby safehouse defenses, doctors to provide medical assitance for infection and the like, and advertisement crews to spread the word. We're providing a service here.

There aren't many rules beyond "Don't barricade the clinic" (they get removed rather quickly, but its still annoying to our patients) and "Don't stay inside the clinic" (I personally have no sympathy for those who do and thus are consumed by the occasional zombie, but revive them none the less). Staying near the clinic isn't wise, but can be done...though not for long.

I look forward towards working alongside you (and any others interested in the clinic who may be reading this) in the near future. Welcome to Yagoton.

-MorthBabid 04:38, 16 Nov 2005 (GMT)

That was a quick and lengthy answer! Thanks! I've slapped the tag into my profile, and will work to be helpful. I intend on doing whatever I can - whether serve as a reviver, a constructor or a 'security guard'. :) Thanks for the welcome! I'll stay in touch. ^_^ -pinkgothic 17:55, 16 Nov 2005 (GMT)
I revived nine zombies today. I hope to do another run like that in three days at the latest. Out of syringes for now. Best regards, -pinkgothic 18:32, 20 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Good to hear. Staying away from the clinic until you're ready to work is a good idea. The nearby safehouses are being attacked from time to time, though the clinic itself seems fine. I should probably fall back to a safer area soon...or else you'll be finding ME bumbling about in the clinic walls. --MorthBabid 20:52, 20 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Hey, just wondering if anyone from the clinic is going to be coming to Caiger? I just looked at the NecroNet and there are almost a thousand scanned zombies in the immediate area (4 block radius from the NT building directly East of it). We can use every man we get. --TheTeeHeeMonster 00:10, 4 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Since the clinic doesn't have a strict membership system per-se, its hard to tell. I know that many are still in Yagoton trying to help recover from the Mall Tour, but I know we've got a few friends heading that way as well. Keep an eye out for an ex-patient of mine, Darrien Creek. Last I heard he's come up in the world since I first met him, and is currently revivifying and headshotting zombies in Caiger Mall. --MorthBabid 02:49, 4 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Thanks for the reviv, MorthBabid. Those zombie hordes won't shut down our clinic THAT easily! --Uborkapete 12:58, 16 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Hey, just because you're our defacto leader doesn't mean you get to stand around on the job babbling about brains and smelling like a sewer. ;) Glad I could help. --MorthBabid 20:59, 16 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Neon Knights

I like that joke you made on their discussion page. You sure know your chemistry. :) - KingRaptor 06:27, 27 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Miskatonic University didn't graduate no fool. --MorthBabid 04:16, 29 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Oh, that was a joke. 'cause I sure don't know my chemistry, but I thought that was kinda random. XD Anyways, I read today's post (I've always like UD journals) and heh.. I have an alt who hangs out in Hinks (no, I don't use him to help my main, it's just a great place to be around in case you get killed). I saw someone say something about you and him having just killed some zombies together. A few minutes ago I was thinking 'wouldn't it be good to kill this Morth guy, he seems important' and then I find out you would've been ripe for the picking today but I already spent all my AP, though I wouldn't have done it anyways since it's a bit below-the-belt to track people through their journals... Oh well. Zaknrfama 23:49, 4 Jan 2006 (GMT)
Oh, awesome, we got you. I was gonna start tracking you because you seem important, but the newest member of my group must've killed you. I hope you're not that angry, you seem to be taking some of this more seriously than I expected. But, of course, it's hard to know how people feel from typed words. --Zaknrfama 05:19, 8 Jan 2006 (GMT)
  • See my characters entry for Jan 8th, 2006 for his own insights to the situation. :) --MorthBabid 22:28, 8 Jan 2006 (GMT)
  • Too bad Zaknrfama will never see that ICly. He might even believe it! Well, no, probably not. He's too paranoid now. Haha. --Zaknrfama 23:21, 8 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Syringe find probability

Crossposted from the news discussion page:

Well, I was until the change able to find about 8 syringes on 50 AP. Now I'm lucky if I get 3 syringes on 50 AP. Meh. It's slowing me drown drastically, not sure if anyone else is feeling the effects the same way or if I'm just unlucky, though.

Needless to say it's been pissing me off. ^_~ Anyway, I wanted to put it on your talk page so you'd instantly be notified of this response :) Yeah, go me, the attention whore. (Okay, so I really just thought it would be useful :P Heh) -pinkgothic 00:02, 7 Dec 2005 (GMT)

No problem. Just keep at the syringe hunting: We do have people who want to be treated. I'm hoping the situation is either done in prep for a new event/skill/status change, or is only temporary. --MorthBabid 02:23, 8 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Need Revive

Noticed you got revived at Harkness. If you have any spare syringes, [1] could use a revive. Thanks. --Nov 23:28, 8 Jan 2006 (GMT)

  • No, I wasn't. I was killed outside Harkness, and decided to head back to the primary clinic where I still am. At least there I can still help out as a zombie by removing barricades and any brain rotters...with my flimsy, non-Vigour Mortis enabled limbs. :p --MorthBabid 05:04, 9 Jan 2006 (GMT)

new scientists skill

Congrats, your suggestion was pretty close to this. (do I have egg on my face? Yes, yes I do...:)

  • Thanks. The create syringe ability is alot steeper in AP cost than I expected it would be, but perhaps that just opens up room for new scientist skills in the future, if needed. Or the numbers might be perfect. Like I said before, the math on paper and math in the real world are hard to figure out. --MorthBabid 02:56, 20 Jan 2006 (GMT)

You as a moderator?

May I nudgenudgewinkwink your attention to this page? Providing you're not a mod already ;) I think you should be... hinthintnudgenudgewink. </bad attempt at subliminal messaging> -pinkgothic 02:56, 26 Jan 2006 (GMT)

  • You can feel free to nominate me if you wish. I'm not the type of person who would slap his name up there without due cause. And I doubt I really meet the requirements. --MorthBabid 18:23, 26 Jan 2006 (GMT)
About the requirements, no idea; but as far as I know, I can't nominate you, people have to nominate themselves, really. I found the page because someone (I think in Talk:Suggestions, but my memory may be failing me) had pointed out the mod-dom being a little thin around here. Except with more words to describe the exact problems. Anyway, I couldn't help but think of you. But then, the most important requirement is if you want to ^_~ So nevermind. Thanks for the response, though. -pinkgothic 14:13, 27 Jan 2006 (GMT)
I'd actually support you in this Morth. We need a Yagotonite (or is that Yagotonian?) as a mod! --Nov 16:27, 8 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Journal entries

I must say, I really enjoy reading your journal, and was pleased when another entry popped up. :) I'm definitely keeping an eye on this character. Blig 00:40, 25 February 2006 (GMT)

Thanks. If you like mine, check the link to the Survivor Diaries on the Wikis main page. I often copy over my posts there, and browse through a few myself. --MorthBabid 20:59, 22 March 2006 (GMT)

Could you vouch for me?

I've put myself up to be a Locations admin here on the wiki. I was just wondering if you could vouch for me. If you would like to, you can do so at Moderation/Promotions. Thanks. --Nov 12:10, 5 March 2006 (GMT)

Thanks for the vouch!! --Nov W!, Talk 16:24, 6 March 2006 (GMT)

Mobile Revive idea..

well morth, the idea is that theres a global set of revive credientials, and a team of maxed out players that just travel about, and you post from whereever you are, the Program directs you somewhere, and then someone comes to revive you. An example being that- JoeSurvivor IS a Tompsan mall irregular, He travels To say.. giddings mall, in pitneybank to fight the RRF- And he doesnt know anyone there. He gets killed, and he cant find a revive point- hes a verified member of the project so, he simply Posts that he needs a revive, and we guide him towards a revive point and get a revive arranged.(many groups have pledged support to the project including a member of the original COL. Yagoton revive clinic would be a much valued member and if intrested i would happily cede control to your superior staff, It was merely an idea i had.)--Dark Wingstalker W! 20:40, 27 February 2006 (GMT)

  • A Yahoo group, run by NecroTech employees, currently runs that very idea with rather limited success, but on the whole seems to work for some. Do a quick Yahoo Group search for the specific one, and see what they have to offer. Joining them and perhaps meshing them with the wiki may be more efficent than creating a new entity in and of itself. I'll run a Yahoo Group search myself for the exact link later incase you can't find it. --MorthBabid 20:57, 22 March 2006 (GMT)

Channel 4 News Team in Yagoton

Reproduced from the News Team discussion page so you can't miss it: You know, I've been thinking about this and I'm pretty sure the best thing for a revive clinic to do in the event of a suburb battle is to pull its base into another suburb and launch forays into town to do reviving. The thing is, Nectotechs are really much better off with power than without it and keeping a generator in a buildning is dangerous in a battle. What's more, you stand a good chance of reviving a lot of Wes Mantooth's thugs by mistake- and that's especially bad, given the 10AP thing. Of course, that's all strategy and the Channel 4 News Team isn't about strategy! We're about looking good and, when it comes to Glorious Battle, you need go no further. We'll fight yer zombies in the streets, in the Mall, and in the Nectotechs! Let it be known that all zombies in Necrotechs in Yagoton will be slain with the utmost Tenacity and Zeal. --Ron Burgundy 21:37, 4 April 2006 (BST)

Most of us have unoffically fallen back to help retake and enforce the Mall, actually. With Bale Mall seeming mostly secured, we're working on getting Harkness Street reactivated before moving on to re-establish the YRC's primary clinic. --MorthBabid 10:35, 10 April 2006 (BST)

Haha, I love the YTMND link!  :D --Ron Burgundy 21:09, 19 April 2006 (BST)

Comment on C4NT page

I noticed your response on the Talk page for Ron Burgandy's group. Specifically, the " mostly fallout from the curious feeding behaviors on the failed second 'seige' on Caiger Mall.

Havercroft

I'll inform the men! Thanks a bunch. I've been keeping an eye out for him, but this is the first I've heard. We'll see if I have extra AP tomorrow- and if I'm still alive. --Ron Burgundy 02:34, 4 May 2006 (BST)

Need a revive

User name's Acid Black, I'm a rotter but I heard that you can revive rotters in a powered necrotech building right? I could use being alive so I can pick up some useful skills…

I'll be hanging around outside the Whatmore building. Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Acid Black (talkcontribs) .

You'll need to break inside a NT building I'm afraid. If you can't seem to manage to get into one and let out a Mrh, you're a bit out of luck. --MorthBabid 22:53, 20 June 2006 (BST)

The Elusive Mr. Creek

Yeah, I Spotted him in Barrville. He seemed pretty messed up, what with the coming back to life and all. Thanks a bunch for all the help! If there's one thing we could always use, it's more revives. --Ron Burgundy 23:15, 2 July 2006 (BST)]

Hot damn, we've got a lot of casualties on our hands. Just so ya know, I suggested my guys head up to Yagoton to get their revives, since Nichols is looking like it's on the brink and all that jazz. If you have any problems with this, let me know- and if you start wondering who all those zombies are, well, it's us.  :D --Ron Burgundy 22:12, 16 July 2006 (BST)

Abandoned Forum

With the new 10AP to stick someone, and with The_shining_ones headed our way, you, Pinkgothic and other key members of the YRC should set up accounts and get a Embassy on The Abandoned Forum so we can better coordinate actions. --MickDansforth 08:36, 29 March 2006 (BST)

I've been meaning to do that; Now would be a wise time to do so. --MorthBabid 21:14, 29 March 2006 (BST)
So? What do you think? Would you want to do it? If yes, visit us here, at our new forum, and PM me. Cheers! *now back to finding some more allies; where are all the friendly human groups when you need them? :P* --Abi79 AB 14:43, 27 July 2006 (BST)

Quartly Study Group

That's great! Thanks for the heads up- and this couldn't have come at a better time. We've been needing a revive point. A bunch of librarians, too- how did you know I love leather bound books? --Ron Burgundy 00:42, 16 August 2006 (BST)

  • Like one who, on a lonely road
Doth walk in fear and dread,
And, having once turned round, walks on,
And turns no more his head;
Because he knows a frightful fiend
Doth close behind him tread.
--Coleridge's Ancient Mariner
Just a hunch. :) --MorthBabid 23:20, 19 August 2006 (BST)

The blade itself incites to violence! Man, there are quotes that could be about hunting zombies everywhere! Conspiracy?  :o --Ron Burgundy 23:41, 22 August 2006 (BST)

You've a chapter for our fine Literates ? Huzzah ! Wiki is so big we get lost at times. There is still no information at Battle of the Blackmore yet there are links to it. We know you've been around Ridleybank from the start, and that you are wiki/web savy. Could you please write up a first draft ? I'm afraid that we would sound biased if the QSG wrote the history of the battle. Sir Fred of Etruria 14:51, 13 September 2006 (BST)

  • Actually, you're probably thinking about one of our commisioned YRC field agents named Darrien Creek. I've been keeping the homefires warm in Yagoton, but Darrien and a few others from the YRC have been helping out as they can since Yagoton is so slow for 'buisness' as it were. But I'd be more than glad to work with Darrien to provide a rather unbiased view of events. I'll call him in-game about it. --MorthBabid 19:46, 13 September 2006 (BST)

Excellent, Yagoton boys never say die ! Sir Fred of Etruria 05:51, 14 September 2006 (BST)

Whoops... guess I sorta did that myself. If you guys have anything more to add, feel free! --Ron Burgundy 07:58, 22 September 2006 (BST)

Thanks for the kind words in regards to the QSG. I've sent librarian shortshorts to the Bale Mall and YRC to show our support. As for myself, I'll see you in the Blackmore/Nichols area. Literacy love company, Never say die!! Sarah tonin 06:02, 26 September 2006 (BST)

  • Hey, you guys deserved it. Without you providing a springboard location and overall signs of what Ron would call 'Class'? My boys and girls wouldn't have lasted five minutes out there. --MorthBabid 06:22, 5 October 2006 (BST)

  • I'm glad you enjoy it. I'd like to extend an official invitation from the Quartly Library. We would be delighted to have you as a guest lecturer on theoretical neuroscience. Maybe a debate, but I haven't located the other party... Sir Fred of Etruria 01:55, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
  • I've been planning on updating my journal with a paper on that very subject, so keep your eyes peeled, and feel free to reference the actual update when it makes its way up there. --MorthBabid 04:01, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Jurassic Park

Hahaha, that picture is great! Man, I loved that movie. Saw it again on TV a few months ago and it just wasn't the same. I died a little, on the inside. --Ron Burgundy 23:41, 22 August 2006 (BST)

Slander

We of the Disciples of Zeko bear you no ill, besides the fact that you are a heritical YRC member and an occupant of Whatmore. We do not appreciate this slander you have begun to spatter against us as of late. What happened was in the past and since then we have cleaned up and become a legitimate rule-following PK group. We realise that you may not be aware of this, as we don't do much chatting with the public besides are prayers and sermons to Zeko. So please, now that you are educated on the current state of affairs in our Church may you please stop these false words? We respect you as an opponent and only wish to do legitimate battle with you.

PS: We also do not appreciate your charicterization of the The Faithful as being illiterate fools. You can call us insane or fanatical all you wish, but we are far from unitelligent. Some of our more outspoken members also happen to be our stupid ones, and we also attract a great deal of low-level short-term players, but I can assure you that our leadership and higher ups are intelligent and thinking people. -Rozozag

Battle of Blackmore

I can't believe I forgot you guys! That's what I get for editing the wiki whike on the scotch. Anyhow, I've righted the wrong and added a blurb about the YRC in the "An Amazing Show of Class" section as well as adding you to the list of groups involved and putting Darrien Creek in the list of leaders. I think that about does things right which means that I've had enough scotch for tonight! Thanks, by the way, for that section on the significance of holding out in an NT- I'd meant to write something about that, too, but seem to have... well, not. Anyhow, I'll see you in Glorious Battle!  :D --Ron Burgundy 07:56, 22 September 2006 (BST)

  • No biggie! But I appreciate and value the response. It was more for the big ups to my boys Perr, Darr, and the other brave Yagoton boys who never say die...since the zeds don't either. :) --MorthBabid 06:21, 5 October 2006 (BST)

CrimsonRed

I'm editing this to get your attention. I do not know how to contact you otherwise.

Regarding "zerging" at Thresh Grove school - I recently logged on to my account, CrimsonRed, at Thresh Grove School.

You'll note that I have two characters, CrimsonRed and CrimsonGreen. You'll also note that they're very new characters that have a hell of a time surviving. They had both died and I had found it quite difficult to get revived in other sections of the game, however I had found that the Yagoton Revivication Clinic was one of the best in the area, kindly providing prompt service so I could continue playing the game.

After being revived I have very few AP left and was only able to move into one location, because I dont have free running. I wasn't able to log onto my characters yesterday to move them to seperate locations, and now I'm dead again. All I was looking for was to get revived, then I planned to split seperate ways and go back to their original suburbs, as I had played and leveled both characters seperately. I understand that the definition of zerging is having multiple characters in one location, but all I was trying to do was get turned human.

If I was truly using both characters together (zerging) I really wouldn't care and I'd create a new account, but instead I wanted to let you know, since perhaps youm might be kind enough to revive me. I assume I might already be "blacklisted" with Yagoton Revivication Clinic, although I hope it isn't the case.

Kind of sad when some guy goes onto a power trip claiming that you're cheating the game when all I'm trying to do is get revived and survive.

Currently CrimsonRed is at St Swithun's Church 45, 17 CrimsonGreen is at "wasteland 43, 22"

I do promise you that I do not intend to work together with these characters, merely wanted a revive :-/ CrimsonRed/Green

Yagoton Revivification Clinic's official policy is not to blacklist anyone. We do keep a list of brain rotters to keep the queues at Swithun's moving quickly, but that's different. Volunteers might unofficially choose not to revive certain particularly irritating individuals, like repeat gen-killers, but zergers are pretty low on our list of worries. So no, you haven't been blacklisted. X1M43 06:23, 27 September 2006 (BST)
  • Couldn't have said it better myself. My comment was more of a suggestion to split up your characters if you were zergs. To be honest, I wasn't even sure if they WERE, which is why I was vauge. But thanks for vocing it. If you're in the clinic, chances are someone will revive you. And we've got at least two clinics either way, not to mention the Sacred Ground Policy. You may want to head to Harkness Street for a faster revive, however. It tends to be powered more frequently due to its proximity to Bale Mall. Lotta GKers in South Yagoton. --MorthBabid 06:19, 5 October 2006 (BST)

Something's wrong with Morth...

Hi! One of our members got the following pic. Mind telling us what was all about? Thanks! http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a16/Shadus/UrbanDead-TheCity1160075764710.png --Abi79 AB 14:29, 6 October 2006 (BST)

  • Oh, heh! Don't worry, I ain't going crazy. I was rifling about the Drugstore, and listening to all the PK/PKer talk just got me thinking about a quote from Genesis. Genesis 6:12-13 to be exact: "God saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.//God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth." It was more of a intellectual sigh and commentary on survivor behavior more than anything else. That and all the moderator debates on the wiki. :) No clue what the Covenant stuff is about, though. I heard that too. I'm actually trying to see if in-game if this Covenant is a threat to Malton. I think you've got one of your Abandoned boys checking it out too? --MorthBabid 17:48, 6 October 2006 (BST)
  • Good. We were afraid of another survivor going mad after SoU and Flytrample. :P As for the Covenant, I don't know anything about it... but that's why me and Afifi are there. Think they may have only one member? I haven't seen anyone else besides Darkfalle with that group affiliation. --Abi79 AB 20:17, 6 October 2006 (BST)
  • Edit: But I'm getting tired of waiting there... Doesn't Darkfalle want to enlighten us? --Abi79 AB 20:18, 6 October 2006 (BST)
  • I moved on as well. Too much to do in Yagoton. --MorthBabid 08:33, 7 October 2006 (BST)

Channel 4 News Team

That's a wild video! Thanks a bunch for it, I've been running out of things to misquote in wiki page updates and those few minutes have a bunch of good stuff! I've just got to work it in and we've got a new logo or two. Not quite sure if we need a morale boost right now, but perhaps after some creative thought and some scotch, I'll come up with something! Thanks again for the video and stay Classy! --Ron Burgundy 08:47, 8 October 2006 (BST)

Yeah, I've seen that "lost movie." It was pretty wild, but I'm still not sure what, exactly, it was. Is it just the actors screwing around because they went under budget, is it a special feature, what?! Anyway, thanks for the help in Blackmore! I'm not sure what we're going to be doing next, but the general feeling around the forum is that we shouldn't give up hope in Central Malton and should try it again. I'm not sure how that's going to work out, since the most we can hope for is another 2 months of siege. The RRF isn't going to give up and they're not strong enough to take us on alone, so who knows. The deciding factor seems to be Shacknews, so I guess it's their move. As for what to do right now, the best thing would be to get those 200 Bastards revived and back in action! We've started it in the cemetery just south of Ackland Mall and if you could spread the word about that, I'd be very grateful! I'll try to give Darrien a ring, too. By the by, the Big Bash is now in Ridleybank and Stanbury Village (imagine that, we had just about every zombie on our tail) so you might want to tell those guys to pull out, for the time being! Stay Classy! --Ron Burgundy 05:55, 14 October 2006 (BST)

  • I'll try to let him know as well. Not sure if the phone mast is up. --MorthBabid 22:32, 14 October 2006 (BST)

Yeah, I know the Caigers get a lot of bad press. They did come to Ackland, during the Battle of the Bear Pit and they did come out to Blackmore, though. Hell, hundreds of them came out for the former. Personally, I figure they're the same as the next guys, just trying to get by. I do think a lot of people disagree with that, though, so they'll probably not get the numbers they saw in the first and second sieges. The "Special Report" thing didn't seem too critical, did it? I'm not among the people who think the place is completely corrupt. It's just lost what made it so great- and it couldn't have happened any other way with a static group. --Ron Burgundy 00:00, 21 October 2006 (BST)

Actually, I hadn't even noticed that addition to your main page when I posted that in the C4NT talk! It was just my response to some of the radio chatter I overheard on your radio band; A few buildings I rest in catch the C4NT radio frequency. But your post could use a bit of a positive alternative view: Kinda balance the one extreme with another? Those who refused to come with some examples of those who did? --04:38, 21 October 2006 (BST)

Word on the street has it the Shacknews folks are setting their sights on you guys. I'd hate to spy on their forum (and I haven't, I can't navigate the damn place), but between using the info people send me and leaving you guys to get struck without warning, I'll choose the former. So watch out for big groups of zombies sleeping inside buildings (places as far away as Shuttlebank were mentioned as staging areas). If you spot one, that gives you guys 24 hours notice, tops. Of course, if what people tell me turns out to be correct, you guys are more than welcome to head on south to Blackmore and get revived. With Caiger gone and Yagoton looking down the barrel of the same gun, I guess there aren't too many fallback points. Revives in Ridley- who'd have thought?! We've got a backup of 9 or 10 people right now and a few rotters clogging things up, but I'm sure we could handle it. --Ron Burgundy 05:10, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

No worries, I keep forgetting to visit the Abandoned's forum myself! Thanks for the heads up but but so far it's only rumor. Considering the still-strong presence in the Caiger Mall area and the recent swell of zombies at the Blackmore Building, the best guess is that Shacknews is actually upon a split front. I've caught players from the Confederacy of Malton and other PKer/Griefer groups spreading the rumor via 'public' radio transmission that Shacknews is already IN Yagoton, and suggesting that everyone should just run away and leave...so that could be the primary source of the idea, rather than actual zombie advancement. :) But we'll keep an eye on our Southern shores just the same, while we try to revive as many Caiger Mall Survivors that head our way as we can. --MorthBabid 18:07, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Fairness

"As a repeat offender, I can't in fairness vote 'For'. Sorry."

Fairness might be the wrong word here, basically you seem to be saying "because you were a jerk in the past, the policy shouldn't pass," regardless of the content of the policy. You seem to be overlooking the fact that I'll be banned in his place. -- Rueful 19:55, 16 October 2006 (BST)

  • No, thats one of the reasons I voted AGAINST the policy...and I use the term 'policy' loosely, to be honest. Its more inter-demigod political B.Sing and trolling. Don't confuse 'unfairness' with 'consequences of my own actions'. --MorthBabid 01:59, 17 October 2006 (BST)

Zombie Linguists?

Why, Morth Babid of YPR (Yagoton Public Radio), you're one of oure merrye bande? Any contribution you feel like giving (though I know you play a survivor) would be well appreciated! Daniel Hicken 00:59, 19 October 2006 (BST)

  • Oh, don't I wish. But I'm afraid my skills are mostly limited to semantics, etymology, and memetics. Linguistical feats on the scale you've achieved over there is impressive and I know enough to understand the gist and flow of it...but frankly, trying to do it myself gives me a headache. My own primitive attempts at a organic zombie language drove me QUITE batty. But I can provide a few neat links if you'd like, once I dig up my old notes. --MorthBabid 19:28, 19 October 2006 (BST)

Won't complain for a few kicks in the right direction...the only thing that was original to me was the table at the very bottom that I'm still sorting out. Have you had much exposure to other langauges? Looking at this, I find that Zombie's very, very creole-like. I'm thinking seriously about bringing it to the attention of some of the professors at my school. Daniel Hicken 04:42, 21 October 2006 (BST)

Hello, I don't exactly know who you people are or what the context of this conversation is, but I just stumbled across it and had to say something. I am a linguistics graduate student playing UD as a zombie linguist, and have been collecting data from zombies in game for several months now. I agree that zombie speech is very creole like, in fact I've been referring to it as Zombie Pidgin English (or ZPE) for a while now. It's nice to run across someone with similar ideas, let me know if you want to talk or see my data! =) --Dr Ransom 06:01, 22 October 2006 (BST)
It would be _very_ interesting. My character, who's currently a zombie in west Malton is a linguistics professor.  :) Feel free to post it to my talk page! Daniel Hicken 06:36, 22 October 2006 (BST)
  • For anyone else interested who stumbles across this, we were talking about KiZombie, currently the most natural and organic true zombie language on the wiki. --MorthBabid 18:21, 23 October 2006 (BST)

Should Zombies Heal?

I've changed my mind...I don't they should for the reasons you mention. Also I think zombies have things pretty good right now that Ransack, Feeding Drag, and Tangling Grasp are in. I'm probably going to submit ideas for zombies less frequently until survivors get another skill or item. --Jon Pyre 03:22, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

They might need it in the future, however, I'll give you that! --MorthBabid 17:05, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Your Wiki Sockpuppet Policy?

As you may be able to tell, I got side tracked with something more important; fixing the long standing abhorrent guidelines the mods have to follow. They're atrocious, let me tell you. Can you believe we were originally supposed to delete pages that people asked us to protect? Yeesh.

I'll get back on the sockpuppet policy once the guidelines rehashed one is ready to go. I may have some time to work on it later this week as well. –Xoid MTFU! 18:21, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Just curious! Thanks for letting me know. --MorthBabid 19:11, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

This Edit

In future, please make sure to remove the entirety of someone's comment/s, if you're going to remove anything. You aren't being warned, because that edit was made in good faith, but just be more careful. Thanks! Cyberbob  Talk  09:30, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about the delay - my computer crashed when I opened the wiki, and I missed the new messages notification thingy. As for your question... If something's POV, just remove it. Don't bother with rewording, unless you have firsthand knowledge of the situation. Cyberbob  Talk  12:04, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind and try and spread that tidbit of wisodm when needed. --MorthBabid 00:21, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
You and your friends are always welcome at the Quartly Library. Sir Fred of Etruria 01:57, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

The "quite not so return"

Heh, you got this wrong! I'm not "back" at the wiki more so than I'm back at the game: I'm just checking that a policy that I put a lot of effort on develop along others (Guidelines rehashed) gets approved so I can finally leave that behind. You would understand if you knew how much time and effort I had invested on that thing. But I'm thinking of coming back, it's not like the game nor the wiki took particulary great ammounts of my time... So, give me some more time and you'll see OnlyMatt again =). --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 07:55, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Tease. :) But either way, good to see ya! --MorthBabid 23:11, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

the QSG

Our good mutual friend, Mr.Creek, left the library before I could properly thank him for stopping by. Could you please let him know that I appreciated his visit, and I am glad he met the Quartly's discussion group. It is unfortunate that we'd not met in safer days, but mayhaps someday we'll sleep outside in Yagoton. Sir Fred of Etruria 04:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I would, but signal strength isn't too strong in Yagoton atm. We're having a bit of trouble with a tiny but voracious horde of Shacknews leftovers. But I'll pass it along to other friends of him who may have better reception. --MorthBabid 23:54, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
May you have a scientific christmas and a literate new-year. Sir Fred of Etruria 16:05, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Yagoton

We've liberated the mall could use some revive doctors in style. Come up soon --Dickhole Bonaparte Leader, Malton Rangers 13:42, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up; I've updated the YRC member message with that info. --MorthBabid 18:23, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry if you don't like random messages here, but Fisu has put me on the PKers list for bounty hunting him a while back, and I would like them to take that report off of me. But, they don't believe the wiki about him being a mass murderer without screenshot evidence. And I was wondering if you have any screenshots of the event or anything of him PKing to help clear my record with the DEM. my bounty report. Thanks in advance. --Bluemofia 15:55, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

1) I don't have any influence over Fisu, much less that bounty hunter website. 2) His profile does link him to the Maltonian Inquisition, doesn't it? I'm afraid I don't have any screenshot evidence of his status, considering the age of the event. You'll have to work this out on your own. --MorthBabid 20:34, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Cody6

I was wondering if you happen to know the whereabouts of cody6. Alot of the rangers would like to kill him, and I'm one of them. Could you give me some intel as to where He might be, or if you don't want to, let me know. Either way, get back to me on my talk page. --Dickhole Bonaparte Leader, Malton Rangers 01:42, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Wait, what? Cody6? Last I heard he was trying to HELP the YRC? Why would you want to kill him? And regardless, its not the YRC way to encourage harm...though we do identify potential risks to personal health, and let people choose their own way to deal with said risks. --MorthBabid 02:03, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

:D

  1. Yes - I'd heard rumors that they were coming back, but sadly, only rumor. Pity! --MorthBabid 02:32, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

The rumor may be true ;) Primeval 06:33, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Dec 18th Yagoton News Edit

Noticed this edit, and FWIW, I did regard the entry you removed as news, in fact--i.e. PKing going on in relation to a particular recent development in Yagoton--but it probably did need a screenshot in support. That said, if it were phrased as "word on the streets is that so-and-so is PKing the manager," I'm not sure that would be the case. Granted that no-one (or almost no-one) wants the news to devolve into back-and-forth accusations and edit wars, but I think if people phrase things simply in terms of "reports," most matter is fair game, and better to err on the side of inclusiveness. My .02 anyway. I don't think we're really very far apart, if at all, in editorial thinking, otherwise I wouldn't even bother you with another perspective on this. --Barbecue Barbecue 22:03, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Nope, you're right, and I've made changes like that before. But mod A Bothan Spy has told me I should probably just delete comments like that all together, since such 'good faith' edits can sometimes lead to griefer events. He made a comment like that above on the entry titled "This Edit". --MorthBabid 07:49, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Ah yes, I see now--hadn't read that before, appreciate the pointer. I guess it is indeed tricky stuff. Might an alternative, perhaps grief-preventative solution be (though admittedly more work) making the edit and then notifying the user on their talk page? Or even deleting the comment but notifying the user (perhaps with some stock text) of how they might reconstruct their addition to be more suitable? I just worry that raw deletion by itself also has the potential to create griefers at worst, and at best, leave potentially valuable contributors (and news nuggets that are of value but simply need rework) out in the cold. Anyway, just some thoughts--I certainly don't mean to grief you myself, and intend no sign of disrespect towards your excellent stewardship of the page :). And with that, a Merry Christmas to you sir (exchangeable for good wishes in any alternative holiday or creed). --Barbecue Barbecue 00:58, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

C4NT connection

You recently left me a comment asking about my authority within the C4NT and what grounds I edit the Wiki on. I'm currently third in command(Under T, who is under Ron of course). I've been with the C4NT for quite some time now, infact since the day I joined Urban Dead. My first mission with them was to Caiger(at that time, I was Tucker1Mark on Urban Dead. He is now a member of the RRF), where I helped keep St. Isidores church barricaded, opposed to it being an open revive/entry point. Me and T then followed the News Team to Ackland, and I've been fighting with them and the NMC ever since. With Ron being absent, I took charge of the Wiki(which needed updating), and am T's official herald.

http://urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=732089 that is the URL for my UD profile. Sorry for the confusion, and I hope this clears it all up. Tovarisch Khrushchev 01:26, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

He's got the authority.--General Lee A. Dickhole Malton Rangers 01:35, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick reply on that. I figured it was better to ask than sit about and wonder. I've got a few people from the YRC following C4NT around, and just wanted to make sure they're getting bona fide info. :) --MorthBabid 19:21, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Good to have the folks from the YRC around with us. I've never used their services myself, but I hear amazing things. Tovarisch Khrushchev 21:25, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, they are amazing... (just had to add confirmation) --Barbecue Barbecue 03:28, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Bale Mall danger report

I just noticed that you changed it and when I realized that it was a little wrong I changed it myself. Bale has some good deal of zombies outside the NW corner as I said on the report, and I can confirm that coz my zombie alt is there. I'm just telling you so we don't have a stupid edit war over so small an issue. See you at the clinic! --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 00:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Not at all, thats an apt and accurate update. The influx occured during the amount of time between posts, infact. --MorthBabid 23:20, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

What the fuck?

Yes. I'll kill you. So will my rangers. So, I offer you this ultimatum, leave now, never return, and We'll let you go about your business. I have someone who is waiting for me to give the excecution order right now, so, your choice, delete this, or get killed.

I've talked to morthbabid, and he says they'll overlook it. (dickhole guy)

What the fuck did I ever do?--Darkmagic 03:55, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

No clue, and he's misquoting me, too. I'll flat out ask him wtf is up. --MorthBabid 22:30, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
He misquoted me in saying that I'd shoot him. The problem is that he was on our message boards, glorifying hitler, and being an all around asshole. The ultimatum I gave him was that if he didn't leave our boards, I'd send a grief squad after him in game until he did. The issue isn't him on the wiki, its him repeatedly coming back to our boards and getting around bans. So, the reason we were going to grief him in game is that he was on our boards when he was specifically asked to leave. There is no beef between YRC and the rangers, and there won't be any problems between us and darkmagic if he stays the hell away from our boards. --General Lee A. Dickhole Malton Rangers 22:53, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
You want to attack somebody. go to power, he's in wyke hill's. go kill him, he's your enemy i'm his brother.--Darkmagic 02:09, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Again, Prove it, your using his account and you type exactly like him, so for all intensive purposes, your him --General Lee A. Dickhole Malton Rangers 03:50, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Really? So tell me DHG, how do I type like him? He created this account because he couldn't remember the cody6 password. After he stopped public posting on most of the wiki he gave me the account to use so that i could have my own account and we wouldn't have to switch accounts to talk on the wiki. Why can't you just accept that we are brothers, I said we were brothers earlier on the wiki, and you belived me.--Darkmagic 21:03, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Enough. If he is your brother, which I can't prove or deny, then you two will have to share responsibility for your mutual actions. You're family. Thats the only thing I can see here that'll make sense. If your brother IS being a dick, and if it's getting YOU in trouble? Why not bring on some Able and Cain justice in-game until he learns his lesson? That way the Malton Rangers get off your case, your A-hole brother might start being a helpful person, and I won't have to start doing shots of warehouse-brewed moonshine. Either way? The YRC can't protect you or hurt you, Dark. That's not our bag. We revive and heal and track hordes and rotters. None of us even have a hiearchy, really; I don't RUN the YRC, I'm just one of the more talkitive members on the wiki. That's about it. I'm sure you and the Rangers can work out some sort of joint hunting effor to track down the actual trouble maker, and naturally your assistance in this would end the damn problem. Hows that sound? --MorthBabid 23:05, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
i'd stated several times that my brother, after the event where he became a litte public after fleeing penny heights, his homeland, he hid somewhere, he was found, killed and he moved out again and stayed hidden. i'v said several times that he is in wyke hills also.--Darkmagic 00:23, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
We're not going to waste time hunting him down. I guess your brother (if he is your brother) kinda screwed your rep on the NMC boards. --General Lee A. Dickhole Malton Rangers 23:38, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

He's in a hospital in wyke hill's, do you read? where are you anyway's, i saw you in whatmore at one point.--Darkmagic 02:50, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Mmmmkay. Well. You two go sort this out on your respective talk pages then, plz. I think you're wasting your time capping one another, but that's just me. Plenty of other stuff to do in Malton, but it's your AP. --MorthBabid 07:37, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Okay, that rocked

Yeah, that was just a glorious kill. I saw you sleeping in Bale last night, and as soon as I logged on today I saw you talking on the radio, so I crossed my fingers and ran to Bale. That was epic. I think you understand that that simply had to be done. --Zaknrfama 00:41, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

No kiddin', right as I used my last bit of AP for the day too. :) Assasah-muh-nated! o.0 --MorthBabid 07:35, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

clean up

can you help me clean this page up? http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Mornington

Looks fine to me, Dark. Why, what in particular were you looking at? --MorthBabid 18:08, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Something about it, kist seem's, out of place, mostly because it is comepltly survivor oriented and nothing there is really news lately, some of the things there can probly go.--Darkmagic 00:30, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Well, to each their own, I suppose. You could try copying over the 'neutral' tag, and seeing if people fall in-suit. But there isn't a strict format for customizing suburbs. It's pretty flexable. Perhaps Mornington NEEDS to be survivor-oriented; They may have a less dense living population than say, Yagoton. --MorthBabid 06:46, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
DO NOT sleep in Bulford or Warehouse 13. They are broken into every night. You will die or come close to it! Please also stop over barricading buildings that are supposed to be VSB, we are killing low level survivors which is NOT cool, we need them all, even newbies.

- + - === 19 January 2007 === + - Has anyone noticed that there are only 6 red suburbs now? AND a TON of green ones? What is going on? Is this a trick or have the survivors taken most everything back?

  • i removed some of the baracade things since it obiously had no effect, and ti just delete something like that, and how is the red sububrb comment thing news related at all?--Darkmagic 14:50, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Uh. Those actually seemed pretty relevant, since they affected the quality of the news reflective upon the suburb in question. Maybe you should look at other suburb news pages to get a better idea of what does and doesn't fly there before you start editing. Also, its a good idea to stick to editing suburb pages you're actually in. --MorthBabid 07:04, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
How does talking about the fact that only 6 suburbs are red relavenmt to the suburb?--Darkmagic 22:51, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
In reference to that suburbs own danger ranking, based on the health of its neighbors. Context, Dark. --MorthBabid 19:28, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
