Phone Mast Talk

Ornithopter, could you drop by the The Mast Talk page and give a quick opinion on a template change. Thanks. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 15:39, 23 May 2008 (BST)

No problem

It was part of a string of edits by another user, all vandalism. He's been stopped from editing for now while another sysop makes a decison as to what happens to him, so I doubt it'll happen again. It was pretty random, so I doubt it was anything personal, but if for some reason it happens again just make a post on VB or something. Oh -and ornithopter? I always think steampunk - it's a type of flying machine similar to a helicopter but based more on a dragonfly, right? --SeventythreeTalk 22:31, 3 May 2008 (BST)

Holy crap! You're the first person to ever not say Magic or Dune! You get a cookie! Plus, steampunk is awesome. An ornithopter is any machine that flies and steers entirely by wing movement (like a bird) rather than propellers of something. (ornith=bird, e.g. ornithology, ornithomimus) -Ornithopter (Talk | contribs) 22:34, 7 May 2008 (BST)
Ah, never got into Magic, and I've yet to read or watch Dune, though I realy should! I do, however like steampunk, the idea of the evolution of technology coming on leaps and bounds while remaining with the use of steam engines and clockworck - I guess it's the entire art deco thing as well. Very stylistic. Thanks for the links by the way - I'll wait till my PC is being less tempramental before downloading the film things, but the comic looks realy cool.--SeventythreeTalk 23:22, 7 May 2008 (BST)

I'm reading dune at the moment and your name jumped out at me on Wan's talk page. Theres no other reason for this post other then i felt i should inform you.--xoxo 05:18, 22 April 2008 (BST)

Congratulations! You've just joined the elite ranks of people who think of Dune instead of Magic: the Gathering when they see my username! -Ornithopter (Talk | contribs) 10:23, 23 April 2008 (BST)
Woot! I don't do magic, people at my school sometimes play but i never pay it more attention than walking past in disgust. In other news i just finished Dune and found it pretty good, word on the street is the series goes steadily downhill, any advice on if its worth reading number 2? Dune Messiah i think its called...--xoxo 12:23, 23 April 2008 (BST)
Only ever read the first one, myself. And it's been a while. Gonna have to pull that one out again. Let me know how the rest are if you read any of them, will you? -Ornithopter (Talk | contribs) 18:55, 23 April 2008 (BST)
c1, just gotta drag myself up the library at some point.--xoxo 00:53, 24 April 2008 (BST)

Great Profiles

That's some funny stuff. :) --Toejam 02:40, 14 April 2008 (BST)

Thanks. I don't know how much of a compliment I deserve for reprinting other people's jokes, but thanks all the same. -Ornithopter (Talk | contribs) 05:03, 16 April 2008 (BST)

pov

Headline text

Hi Ornithopter. I see that you seem to pretty much single handedly maintain the status map of the telephone masts. I just updated one of them for you because my zombie may or may not have destroyed it. He also might be en route to the next one... - Headshot Hal Talk +1 Casting Call 19:04, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't know about single-handedly maintaining it. I just check five-day rule status every, er, seven days. I too partake in a bit of mast smashing as a zombie, so have at 'em. No need to keep me informed, just keep updating the mast status page . -Ornithopter 19:44, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Night Ravers debacle

Hey Sound, as you might guess, this is meself of the gingerbread men, not myself of the sards, but one and the same they be. Whatever. Point being, I think you deserve an explanation of what happened. AS you could probably tell from the text logs, someone (I dont remember who) PKed you. This was becuase you had left a zombie alive, and that person, as well as several others, was afraid of scent death. As you can also probably tell, we were all brutally murdered soon afterwards. Whether we were tracked down with scent death or not, it does not matter. I wish to explain to not take it personally. The Night Ravers are a role play heavy group, and take thier characters very seriously. Several ravers and guests did take offence to how you were treated. There has actually ben quite a kuffufle of it, believe it or not. I just wished to explain to you what happened. I myself have no problem if youd like to come along with us. However, just to be sure, if you do want to, I would say talk to bette noir, though I dont think there would be any hostility to you. Hope to see you around Myself 01:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

S'cool. I caught Bette and John's deaths on The Dead's talk page before I logged in, so I already figured I was dead, just not who I was killed by. I already apologized for my part in it on the Night Ravers' talk page, since I didn't know where else to put it. I'm gonna wander off for a while (was already planning to before this happened), but I expect I'll run into you guys again, and I look forward to it. -Ornithopter 06:35, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Mr. me/myself is correct - if we had not been finally overrun by The Dead, (who took their sweet time about it, do you not agree?) John or I would have been out to revive you the next day. Behind the scenes, words were spoken, things were said which will not be forgotten, but none of that is a reflection on you, I hope you know that.
I look forward to meeting you again soon. Best of luck to you --Bette Noir 17:30, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Discordia

Hey, glad to see you've joined our humble Society. Out of curiosity, where are you? I like to strike with other people sometimes, adds some more fun and bodies. Also, if you could grab yourself a cell phone, that'd be cool. Most of us use them to communicate, although we're pretty loosely-knit. Haven't seen Lovecraft in months. I'm currently spending a little time in New Arkham, which if I recall correctly is rarely ever covered. Vladimir Antipov

I'm either in West Grayside or the east coast of the US, depending on which where you meant. I just picked up a cell phone recently, but my contacts list doesn't show you or any of the other Discordians as having one. Or, actually, any of the PKers I added so I wouldn't kill them by mistake. Or anyone else who isn't a Night Raver. Huh. Loosely-knit is actually good for me. The highly organized groups don't work that well for me, all grinding and planned raids and no time for fun. -Ornithopter
I might have added you to my list after you added me. I think it might need both players having the other as a contact to show up. I'm pretty sure that's it, because I have the icon for you, Pierre, Gin, and Bogtha (the founder of our society, but he doesn't seem to meta, including the wiki. I've only met him once.) If you need, I can message them ingame once I'm back alive and send your profile. They aren't on the wiki particularly often.
I did mean suburb, although you being in the same time zone as me does make things easier. I might pass through the Graysides soon. I was trying to start a campaign to kill someone in all four corners, but 0,99 is ruined and the suburb shows very few signs of life. The other three are looking pretty nasty, too. Don't think I'll be able to do that for a while. I'm going to figure out where I'm moving next a little later.
-Vladimir Antipov
Yeah, I can see your phone now, so that's probably the deal. I just bought Diagnosis which was the last skill I wanted to get before I started PKing more than just the old woman whose profile may as well have said "death cultist", though I will need more ammo, since right now I've just got two and a half full pistols and no clips, but I'm holed up pretty close to a police station, and that's my priority for the next while unless something RP-wise comes up, which doesn't seem likely. -Ornithopter

Hi

Hi Ornithopter! As we can see, you've made your first edits to this wiki not long ago. It's OK to be new, and we encourage new blood to join and enrich blah blah blah blah blah --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 20:23, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Ravenwood Security Solutions

Dear Sir or Maddam

It has come to our intentions that a member of Ravenwood Security Solutions has deemed it necessary for your death. We apologize for the inconvenience's to others needing to Re-Revive you but you are a danger at low levels of heath.

So, uh, you guys just killed me.

       * Skuzball said "AutoDesturct(sic)-you are a danger at 9hp"
       * Skuzball shot you with a pistol for 4 damage. ...and again. ...and again.
       * You were killed by Skuzball.

What does "you are a danger at 9hp" mean? Because I'm pretty sure it means I just got revived, and I'm infected, and I spent most of my AP outside reviving instead of looking for a FAK, and I asked for a heal when I went in the building, and my profile clearly says "Dual Natured player", so I'm obviously not a parachuter. What the fuck, guys? Seriously. What the fuck? -Ornithopter (Talk | contribs) 22:52, 21 April 2008 (BST)

Skull n syringes.gif

Some time back, by CRES Doctor noticed the The Big Prick was beginning to stagnate, leading him to put out a call for individuals interested in helping TBP move forward. I have volunteered my services to help this happen. In my humble opinion, the idea behind the formation of TBP was among the more unique in Malton's history. In its time, it broke up the monotony that was quickly setting in and gave adventurous individuals a chance to try something new. It also helped de-stigmatize people regarding combat revives and make Malton a place where those of dual nature could have a chance to explore their separate agendas. As many of these issues are not as large as they once were, it may seem we have reached a time when Malton no longer needs The Big Prick. I say, it's not all about being needed. Do you still enjoy reviving zombies? Is your first response at a break-in to check for brain rot? Mine is. Being a prick is not a job, it is part of who we are, and though it may not need us in the same way that it once did, with the rise of Apathy and the decline of survivor groups in Malton, the city cannot afford to lose the Big Prick. Accordingly, I have begun reworking some of the format of TBP pages including a retool of the main page and the introduction of and achievement system that will let pricks gain recognition on their own time on their own terms. As a person who still chooses to fly the colors of TBP, I would appreciate your feedback on my talk page or on the TBP forum. Thank you for your time and may your syringes never be blunted. --Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  Friday, 31 August 2012
