I'm already watchlisting them. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 17:49, 21 August 2010 (BST)

I like the ideas of all of Rattle Royale, Murder in the Dark and Duck Hunt.
What seems impossible to me is The Safehouse. No sane competitor would leave the safehouse except for extremely short bursts of stocking up/looking for kills, making it a matter of pure luck to get any kills that aren't reversed. Wouldn't surprise me if that event would even end with a clean sheet for everyone. Or do I misunderstand something? -- Spiderzed 17:57, 21 August 2010 (BST)

Personally I think once someone gets on kill, it will be game on. Either that or the safehouse is changed each week. Dont know. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 17:59, 21 August 2010 (BST)
Have a rule stating that the safehouse is rendered null and void any time there are, say, four/five or more contestents inside at any one time. When the number drops below that it's still a safehouse, at or above the cut-off, it's just another building. When I fall, I'll weep for happiness 18:47, 7 September 2010 (BST)
Fuck thats an elaborate thought. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 18:48, 7 September 2010 (BST)

Event listing

How does one suggest an event for the Manhunt Marathon? Are you accepting applicants? If so I'd like to officially enter Red October. It will occur conveniently close to Rage in the Age, starting on October 25th and running through November 7th. It will also occur in suburbs very close to Rage in the Age, in the East Grayside/Wray heights area.~Vsig.png 16:42, 7 September 2010 (BST)

let me look over the event, but i don't see why not.--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 18:30, 7 September 2010 (BST)

Possible addition

Could you add my manhunt to the list of future events? I've been alive for too long and would rather have a little challenge, hence the creation of my manhunt. It's sorta like the Mudkip Hunt that Axe Hack started.--Sam 2334 21:53, 19 October 2010 (BST)

A series of suggestions

Thunder Dome

A kill based or elimination manhunt. Twist:

  • If one attacks another contestant, they cannot move until:
    • Either contestant contestant dies.
    • The contestant who did not attack moves.

Two men enter! One man leaves!

War of Disinformation

An elimination manhunt. Twist:

  • You cannot attack fellow contestants.
  • The manhunt is closed to the public. Only participants may know who is participating and where it takes place. A forum shall be set up for the manhunt.
  • You can spraypaint, broadcast, or otherwise communicate in-game that other contestants are DCs, PKers, etc.
    • You cannot mention the manhunt in any context.

No Witnesses

An elimination manhunt over a very small area, preferably a fort or large island. Twist:

  • You cannot kill another contestant if a contestant other than you and your victim is present.

Would mostly be a game of maneuvering, trying to stay in a big group, moving mostly to leave others alone and thus vulnerable. As the game progresses and contestants are fewer, it becomes more and more dangerous, with less groups to hide amongst.

An elimination manhunt over a very small area, preferably a fort or large island. Twist:

  • You cannot kill another contestant unless a contestant other than you and your victim is present.
    • This does not apply if only two contestants remain.

Would mostly be a game of maneuvering, trying to stay out of groups, moving to others mostly to make them vulnerable. Cooperation would be fairly common, but an unimaginable level of mistrust would prevail (be sure to make clear that betrayal is perfectly acceptable). You could orchestrate an alliance with A, B, and C, intended to dissolve when all foes are eliminated, agree with A to betray B and C when really aligned with B and C to betray A, except you're also aligned with C to betray B once A is dead, and once only you, C, and D (who you aren't aligned with) remain, you could betray C by killing him right when he moves to D to let you kill D, and only then kill D. Madness!

Russian Roulette

This concept has been scouteric approved.
An elimination manhunt over a very small area, preferably a fort or large island. Twist:

  • All contestants must begin the manhunt fuel-stained and with 30HP, and can neither change out of their stained clothes nor be healed.

Essentially a Real-Time battle, with lots of pleading, conspiring, betrayal, and insta-kills.

War of information seems a true winner. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:55, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

I might win that one. I seem to kill more there than I do here. xD --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 15:53, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

More Manhunts?

Are there going to be any future manhunts in this competition? Iirc, Kempy should be in the lead at the moment, and If there are more coming up, I'll have to ready my gold tooth breaking bullets.--Yonnua Koponen T G P ^^^ 23:27, 17 May 2011 (BST)

It probably won't qualify for inclusion in the marathon but Red October 2 will happen later this year. I wouldn't mind if there were one between now and then, though. ~Vsig.png 00:45, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
We could set up some kind of elimination manhunts. With all the zombies around it would certainly make things interesting.--Yonnua Koponen T G P ^^^ 15:56, 18 May 2011 (BST)
Yeah that would be cool on a few conditions: 1) Large playing field 2) Three strikes before you're out 3) Allow eliminated players to still participate somehow. Perhaps eliminated players can scout and give very basic clues to surviving participants (such as the suburb). ~Vsig.png 16:55, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Or, you can stop pissing about trying to invent new and ludicrous manhunts, and give me my trophy already dammit. Rant.gif ~ Kempy “YaketyYak” | ◆◆◆ | CAPD | 17:00, 18 May 2011 (BST)
Yeah, Kemps deserves his trophy. We could reset and have a new marathon if people are interested. 2nd Marathon feat. RITA2, RO2, AHMH5 and elimination manhunt. ~Vsig.png 17:08, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Well, since an elimination manhunt doesn't really work with the concept of the marathon anyway, we could run it as a separate thing. And letting dead players scout would definitely be worthwhile, imo. Each player has 3 lives, and we'll have a large area to play in. We can hash out more details later, but for now, I'm thinking "Pacmanhunt" as a name. :P --Yonnua Koponen T G P ^^^ 18:40, 18 May 2011 (BST)
Heh, I was thinking "Vendetta", and allowing players to work a cost. You'd have to be careful who you teamed up on/with. A bullied player might have a vendetta and seek you out when they're out of lives and a "trusted" player might actually be the last player you want to trust. Adds a touch of intrigue. ~Vsig.png 18:46, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
What? So would these trusted and not trusted be prearranged, or what?--Yonnua Koponen T G P ^^^ 18:50, 18 May 2011 (BST)
No, it's not like Clue (or Cluedo or whatever). Anyone can choose their own allies but they do so at a cost...on second thought it would probably never work. Pac-Manhunt it shall be. ~Vsig.png 18:56, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
I think I get what you mean (In that if you found somebody you could tell another manhunter, but risk them attacking you instead?) It could definitely work. P.s. if Kevan ever opens another permadeath city, we so need to do an elimination manhunt there.--Yonnua Koponen T G P ^^^ 19:01, 18 May 2011 (BST)

2nd marathon?

Will there be a second of these? With one event over and another in progress, there is perhaps enough material to set it up and it might bolster attendance at future events. At any rate, it seems fairly low maintenance and it couldn't hurt. --Albert Schwan Albert Schwan  Sunday, 4 December 2011

I think Yon's Manhunt Master's Invitational was to be the new Marathon this year but unless someone else takes it over, it won't likely happen. I don't believe the original intent behind this marathon was to include the kills in non-Ross manhunts. It just sort of happened that way. I think manhunts are a bit of a dying sport but you're right. Something like this might rekindle some interest. ~Vsig.png 01:18, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
