Hello

Noticed you were asking Funt why he removed the news you posted. To understand why, you need only look at the scale of things. You are reporting an attack on a building by what seems to be a couple of zeds. It's just too small of a thing to be newsworthy on the suburb page, because it's probably happening in quite a few locations in the suburb. If every such event was reported the news section would quickly be full of non essential news. If a building is under attack by say ten zombies or more, then it's newsworthy because the building is really in danger of falling, but even then it'll only be news if it is a resource building, or notable for other reasons. Hope the explanation helps. - User:Whitehouse 21:50, 22 October 2008 (BST)

Basically the police station is one of the notable building as not much is happening in Williamsville. Please check when the last news was posted. Few weeks ago. So dont claim that there are too many news.
As I understand only the "noteworthy" people, like you and that guy can post news, right?

No, not really. It's not about being a noteworthy person (I'm not noteworthy at all). It's about the content of the news, people want news that is big. Things such as sieges, places getting trashed, reclamation of suburbs. This is not meant as an attack on you, but a couple of zeds breaking into a building happens every day in over a hundred locations. The reason you never see posts about it is because either people don't think it's newsworthy, or the few times they get put up they are quickly removed by people who feel it isn't news. The reason for this is that people are so used to a zed or two breaking in, that they just shoot and cade. Now when a horde breaks in, then people want to know so they can make their way there to partake on either side. For zombies, a building being broken into by another zombie or two isn't important because they know that if only one or two zeds are attacking they likely got booted out an hour after they entered (much easier to rely on groans that are recent). For survivors, it isn't interesting for the very same reason.
I never post news myself for a couple of reasons, first one being that I know that all news has to be devoid of any "taking sides", which makes it rather dull (advantage is that it's factual). Second reason is that I generally can't be bothered (I'm lazy), normally there isn't anything newsworthy, and when there is everyone in the suburb is already aware of it and someone has already reported it.
I encourage you to continue reporting whenever you find something you feel the people of Williamsville should know. But just be prepared for someone to come along and try to butcher your news, it happens quite a bit. Reasons are mainly noteworthyness as we have discussed, and impartiality. Important reminder here; be impartial or someone will remove it screaming "not NPOV!". - User:Whitehouse 23:33, 22 October 2008 (BST)

Answers to questions

Theres no real convention we're rubbish. (ON most admin pages and hte like its best to post at the top of the page, and at the top of a news section on a page as its most current. On most talk pages the opposite is true and you normally post at the bottom.

The freerunning thing appears to be random, sorry.

You are right. leave and then walk.

I believe the building must be unruined. Its the only way to get those purple contacts.

As for groups look on Recruitment.

Hope this has helped. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 08:52, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
