Hi William Joel! As we can see, you made your first edits to this wiki not long ago. It's OK to be new, and we encourage new blood to join and enrich our community. At the same time, we understand that no one is a perfect wiki editor straight off the bat, and, just in case you get stuck, here're some useful tips to help you out. Please take the time to read them.

General Editing
  • Never delete someone else's edits, comments, responses, etc. off community pages. To do so is considered vandalism.
  • If you write a comment it's useful to sign it so that other editors will know who wrote it. You can write "~~~~" at the end of your comment to sign it, or there's this button Image:button_sig.png on the top of the edit page that will sign for you if you want.
  • You may want to know how your edits will look before they have been saved, to make sure that nothing is wrong. Use the "Preview" button before the "Save" button - it's your friend!
  • If you're slow in your editing and there's an editing conflict, you might not understand the error that you get. The easiest way to overcome the edit conflict is to copy whatever you have been writing, go back with your browser, and then re-enter the edit page so that you can add your edits without deleting those made before yours.
  • The wiki is a collaborative project, please do your best to work well with fellow editors.

Further help for editing the wiki can be found on the Help page.

Project Mentor

Project Mentor has been set up to allow new wiki users to have a more experienced wiki veteran mentor them for the first few weeks. Visit its page for more information!

Your User Page

One of the great things about the wiki is that every user can have his or her own user page! These pages are located in the User: namespace — in other words, they all begin with "User:" (yours is User:William Joel). The appropriate place to write about yourself or your characters is on your user page, or a subpage of that page (e.g., User:William Joel/Your Character's Name). Please don't create pages about yourself outside the User: namespace. Those pages will be moved into subpages of your user page, and the original speedily deleted. If you want something to be deleted, use the speedy deletion page; that's why Criterion 7 was made.

User Talk Pages

Every user has a talk page, found by clicking the "discussion" link at the top of his or her user page, or by going directly to it (yours would be User talk:William Joel). If you have a question for someone, or want to say something to him or her, his or her user talk page is the place.

However, many users on the wiki have established specific guidelines for how their user talk pages are to be treated — where new comments should go, how they should be written, what is or is not okay to talk about, etc. Be sure to look for guidelines on the talk page before you leave a comment.

If you don't see any guidelines specified, the assumption is that you should place your comment at the bottom of the talk page, under a level 2 heading. This can be accomplished by clicking the "+" link next to the "edit" tab at the top of the talk page, or by manually typing in your message in this format:

==Message title==

Your message goes here

When replying to a comment already laid on the page, remember to indent it correctly: do it by inserting as many colons plus one to the message you're replying to at the begining of your message, like this:

==Message title==

Your message

:User's reply

::Your reply
The Suggestions Page

We know that as a new user, you want to share your ideas with us. But a community as big as ours has already seen all kind of suggestions, and it's possible that we've already seen something very similar to the ideas you have. Follow these simple guidelines to make sure that your suggestion gets the respect that it deserves:

  • We strongly recommend that you read the Suggestions Dos and Do Nots and the Frequently Suggested Ideas pages so that you will have an idea of what kind of suggestions are likely to be accepted and what kind are ridiculous in the eyes of the community. The pages might look long and time-consuming to read, but you will find them entertaining and helpful.
  • You might also want to look at the Previous Days Suggestions. These contain a record of all previous suggestions. Use the search function in your browser to search for keywords relating to the suggestion you want to make.
  • It may be helpful to wait a few days to get a feel for the wiki and the other users before subjecting your idea to any possible criticism. If you're unsure, the Suggestions Discussion page is good neutral territory to suggest, gather feedback, and refine your idea before officially submitting it.
  • Write your suggestion according to these steps. If it looks too complicated for you, ask for help.
  • You can't modify a suggestion that you've written once it has been posted on the Suggestions page. You can withdraw and resubmit it with changes later, but only do that if people liked your original suggestion while requesting changes, not if it was Spaminated.
  • If you get stuck at ANY point in writing your suggestion, ask for help. There's no shame in being new and after a few times, you'll get the hang of it.

Remember: These guidelines may look difficult to learn and follow, but they're mainly just common sense! Think about what you're going to say or do before you do it! If you don't make an effort to do so, then why would others have the obligation to be nice to you? Feel free to ask any Project Welcome member if you need help, that's our purpose anyways!

If you want to delete this text, just delete the {{Welcomenewbie}} line from your talk page. Remember that you can always have access to these tips on the Project Welcome/Welcomenewbie page.--Druuuuu OcTRR 22:49, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dear William

Dear William, you dont seem to understand this so I will say it again: you are not allowed to change Umbrella's wiki page. I will just change it back again (like I did). Futher changes will result in a report, I have contacted a sysops and he has said that your edits are viewed as vandalism. So stop now, or be bannend. Both options are a pleasure to me and the Corporation. I hope to not hear from you soon. --MisterGame 20:35, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh, thanks but why I ask this is because some moron called William Joel keeps editing my groups wiki page. He changes our listed numbers to 29 because its this way on the game stats page. He hasnt the right for that. :(. Our numbers include inactive ones that are away for things like vacation. Dont think William Joel is an objective corrector, oh no he is a member of a group that is kinda hostile towards my group making him biased... One more thing; can this system fail? I noticed a group called the Dead at the top with 1346 numbers, but the odd thing is that groups wasnt there a few weeks ago and their wiki page, well... --MisterGame 20:06, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

The Dead are a group that migrated from a Forum. :) Its within possibility that they have that many members. If Joel keeps up changing it, take it Vandal Banning as Vandalism. -- Cheeseman W!RandomTalk 20:21, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

How are we hostile towards you? What does the group The Dead have to do with anything? Why couldnt you just say that you had inactive members in the first place? Im sure that whoever you talked to doesnt have the whole story. When I changed your group numbers, I changed them to reflect the number on the game stats page. There is no way that what I did can be construed as bias. True, I may not like you personally, but I was just trying to fix an error. William Joel 20:50, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Your general stance towards me and Umbrella. Nothing, just my curiousty. You didnt ask us and we didnt need to tell you that, you just started to edit without warning, then when I made clear that you should stay away from Umbrella's wiki, what did you do? You sended a (again hostile) message to me and re-edited back till 29. That's not fixing an error, thats vandlism. If you kept to the rules, you would have contacted us about that error before starting to edit. To my knowledge, you are not allowed to change a group's wiki page unless there is some serious misinformation there.(And even then, you should contact that group and if that fails you should leave it to a sysops). I think you are realising this too, consedering you havent changed anything yet.--MisterGame 21:10, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

*Steps in* Ok. I'm going to deal with this before it gets heated. First off to Joel: The page does technically belong to them so its up to them what goes on it. If it's reverted more than twice, it's probably best not to pursue the matter further in that way and take it up directly with the pages owner. And now to MisterGame: He wouldn't receive a ban for something as trivial as a number on a group page. And worst he would get a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again.
And to both of you: I applaud that you are arguing your points reasonably rather than resorting to trolling each other's pages unlike some of the other disputes that I've seen recently. -- Cheese WTF!RandomSysOp? 22:31, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Retaking Yagoton

Greetings Mr. Joel, I am Private Mark, current leader of Abandoned. First, may I offer you a warm greeting and welcome to our humble suburb...

Which is currently ruined from top to bottom. The first advice I can give you is to refrain from posting further information on where your group is located in the suburb, as the zombie group Extinction is still in the area, wondering where the survivors still sporadically displaced in the town are hiding out. Even now, they could be sending a few strike teams towards your direction.

The Abandoned, despite previous claims on the radio, have not disbanded, as well as the YRC who have fled somewhere south. The devastation in recent months has forced our group to once again go into radio silence.... not that our radio has been much use due to constant spam and false reports by a player known as To Talk, who frequently impersonates the Abandoned on the radio.

However, as you have intentions to retake the suburb from zombie hands, you can consider the Abandoned allies in this effort, at least until former papers are drawn. For secure information, however, I suggest you use our forums at abandoned.lucien.me.uk , while I contact you and your group on your site, should you have one.

I eagerly await your response in this matter.

[edit] Shearbank

I am not going to waste my time talking to someone who claims that the organization I represent is hypocritical when I can pull up quotes from Anonborg and prove yours is just the same. I am also going to go ahead and not believe that /zom/ is not comprised mostly of members from Anon because well Anon members are all quite a bit smarter, I mean what are we going to talk about hmm? Are you just going to be immature and call me names, sorry, but I really don't see a productive conversation coming out of this.--Jackson 10:06, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Anonborgtech doesnt represent me. Only I represent me. While he may speak for the group, I dont always agree with the decisions that are made. I dont think you quite understand /zom/. Its more a loose confederation than a group.William Joel 11:27, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

An alliance would serve both our organizations well and help prevent bickerings over small matters. Lets move forward in forming an alliance so we can help each other and Shearbank. I am currently on leave and don't have continious access to the internet so please be sure to contact us on our forums and I'll make sure you or an other member is validated as a liaison.--Jackson 05:35, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ridleybank

This is the last time William. You make me sore. You know nothing and slander our name left and right. I will see to it that our allies do not help you, ever.--Jackson 14:22, 22 May 2008 (BST)

"NPOV or not entirely true."? You shock me. You can ask around about what we have been doing. You know nothing and make empty accusations, I am tired of your flip flopping and constant flabergasting, yes flabergasting =D... >:( Anyway. Even after diplomatic relations created an alliance you mock us. I have talked to our allies and if you make a false move we will crush you. Am I lying now? Well if you make any wrong moves you might just find out that I don't make up fairy tales.--Jackson 22:24, 23 May 2008 (BST)

[edit] Project NecroWatch

A.L.I.C.E. - NecroNet 2.0
Greetings William Joel. I have observed your recent interest in Project NecroWatch. Do not be alarmed. I have analyzed your potential and determined that you would make a perfect test subj<<ERROR>> NecroTechnician. As an organization, NecroWatch requires absolutely no "group" affiliation or commitments, thus freeing you to act according to your own motives, desires, and goals. The only requirement from you as a NecroTechnician is the task of reporting NecroNet scans from facilities within your suburb(s). Even then you would have the choice of how often you complete this task or which facilities you would prefer to work with. If you are interested in joining all you need to do is confirm your membership by signing up here. Starting on January 1st 2008 all NecroNet scans reported to NecroWatch by licensed NecroTechnicians will count towards ranks with the ultimate prize of earning delicious cake.

[edit] Giddings Mall Tunes

I don't think there is a way to put a section like that into a community page with such a high profile as Giddings. Inevitably someone will 'claim' that their tune should remain and not be allowed to be edited by others. Last time new users trying to change it in good faith were brow beaten into submission by one of these people who had 'claimed' the section. Then the whole thing blew up into drama. -- St. Iscariot GC PK WTE The Big Brother Diary Room is at 551 - 85, which is in the area Elstree Studios, within South Borehamwood - Thank Hagnat! 19:23, 15 April 2008 (BST)

[edit] Question

Are you saying that /zom/ is now not a pking group? There seems to be many conflicting POVs concerning your standings. Clarification is requested. -- GSImage:Tinywhitemask2.png 02:46, 11 June 2008 (BST)
