As in, he led the conservative society at his school, and has sided with the tories pretty much for definite now. He demanded public sector cuts in negotiations to form a coalition.--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 00:38, 25 August 2010 (BST)
Yeah, you'd expect that the Liberals would have had more in common with Labour but they still choose The Conservatives as their partner. I think he could have gotten more out of his position as kingmaker though back when they formed the government. Still, I personally dig the guy for not being Eurosceptic, which is a far too rare trait among British politicians (and people). Too bad William Hague is in charge of Foreign Relations.--Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 00:43, 25 August 2010 (BST)
Really? All five of the labour leadership candidates are pro-EU. Burnham even talked about strengthening EU ties in his manifesto, iirc. And the lib thing is that there are two factions in their party; the social liberals (who are actually liberal) and the economic liberals (who like people to pay less but like to increase tax, cut the public sector, and screw people socially). The former are all leaving the party to join labour, and the latter are staying as lib dems, and may soon cross over and become tories. If the coalition holds for 5 years, I predict that this will happen.--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 10:28, 25 August 2010 (BST)
Well if Labour is so Pro-EU they don't exactly say it out loud, but the main problem I had with the party was Brown, and now he's gone you have a leadership struggle which isn't exactly promoting stability and unity in the party. I do hope your wrong about the Liberals selling themselves out to the Tories though. Going towards a viable multi-party system is a step in the right direction, another reason why I like the Libs. --Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 11:44, 25 August 2010 (BST)
We will have stability, it just depends on who will lead it. Until september 25th, we won't know, but after that, we're looking at an incredibly stable force to throw the fight back to the tories and win back the vote. And personally, I'm not a fan of AV. I'd prefer STV, and we won't get that if we get AV. Ideally, I'd prefer a two-stage STV presidentium, but that seems highly unlikely.--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 11:48, 25 August 2010 (BST)

Cool. I have been interested in joining a political party as well, though I'm not 100% sure which one yet. Depends on the outcome of the formation (we still don't have a government). It's going to be a (center)-right party though.--Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 12:10, 25 August 2010 (BST)
Wait, you're going to join a centre-right party, or the government will be a centre-right party?--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 12:17, 25 August 2010 (BST)
Oops, should have clarified. Both actually. I'm going (or planning) to join a centre-right party. The formation talks are going into the final stage, with a centre-right and right party forming a minority government who will make a deal with a far-right party to give them majority support in the First and Second Chamber (Parlement and Senate). That is, if the formation talks succeed. --Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 12:24, 25 August 2010 (BST)
Why are you joining a centre-right party? :P No offense, but conservatism?--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 12:30, 25 August 2010 (BST)
Could ask you the same thing :D No offense, but socialism? Although it really depends on what you mean with conservatism, because it doesn't necessarily mean (centre)-right, plus it depends on the viewpoint, do you mean on a economical or social level. As for me, well I support strong cuts, we have spend millions supporting the economy (a good decision). We can't put it up any longer though without severely going over the budget and we all know what happens then (Hai Greece!). And stronger immigration laws too please. I'm actually for mass green energy though, albeit not for reason you may presume. I consider myself more of a pragmatic all in all. --Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 19:40, 28 August 2010 (BST)

I ran it through a cryptogram solver. If all he used were a series of three 1:1 substitutions, then they would effectively collapse down to just being a single set of substitutions (i.e. if a=b, then b=c, then c=d after the third "encryption", then we could just say a=d and be done with it, which the solver would find for us). The solver I used came up with nothing good however, so either it had no luck (entirely possible, I'd guess), or he used something other than a simple 1:1 substitution encryption.
