PK Anthor.jpg Anthor's Revenge.jpg

This fellow had previously assassinated me with a ski pole. I thought it was appropriate to debate the proper use of ski poles with him, and what more effective debate tool is there than a loaded weapon? --Zombuddha 03:06, 25 July 2007 (BST)

WPKU2.JPG

To my knowledge, the first WPKU kill dedicated to a third party; in this case, Bounty Hunter Strayla. I can't believe I misspelled "survivors." --Vandr 18:31, 30 July 2007 (BST)

The Live Broadcast Controversy

ZombuddhaSS.jpg

As promised, Zombuddha executed by Anthor for previous crimes including murder. With a tennis racket, and the first known broadcast over two suburbs radio frequencies. --Anthor 00:22, 3 August 2007 (BST)
Liar! That kill wasn't executed on-air. Anthor broadcast it from another location, after the murder. Here's proof.

Anthor Tennis.jpg

No radio broadcast anywhere there. --Zombuddha06:24, 3 August 2007 (BST)
OK, you got me... it was a recorded broadcast. But still, a WPKU Broadcast, I even broadcast the PKing over the air... just not live. I did promise I'd get you, Vandr or another PKer. Like I said, it's not nice to PK. --Anthor 09:09, 3 August 2007 (BST)
I'll allow it, I guess. After all, when I killed Paddy Dignam I had to record it, being that someone had smashed the generator in his safehouse a scant hour before I struck... --Vandr 16:33, 4 August 2007 (BST)
Now see, the real exciting and challenging thing about WPKU is that you've got to kill your target in a location with a powered radio (which might mean carrying along a generator, fuel can and radio just in case), and you've got to have enough AP to commit the murder, broadcast it live, and then run away. Pre-recorded broadcasts remove most of that challenge... it would be only fair to admit in the broadcast that it's not happening live. Of course, none of us are really that interested in fair, are we... --Zombuddha
Well in the Dignam broadcast I made no claims to it being live--I did an old-timey radio drama style for that very reason. I agree with you, ZB, about the challenge, and I think the only reason I cheated that time is because I was so excited to have finally located Paddy at all that I didn't want to wait and risk losing his trail. (Don't you wish that you could use Scent Trail as a harman?) But as a general rule, yes, I would say that a WPKU broadcast should be done live despite the inconvenience or increased difficulty this would cause--for all the reasons you list--and that a recorded broadcast should be stated as such. If WPKU ever really takes off in popularity I'll work it into the official rules or something. --Vandr 03:16, 5 August 2007 (BST)
Thanks for the ruling Vandr. I will abide by the consensus that for future broadcasts they should be done live if possible, and only broadcast a recorded killing under extenuating circumstances, along with broadcasting that it was recorded. --Anthor 01:53, 10 August 2007 (BST)
To Vandr: You said that it should be done live "despite the incoveniences." I disagree. There are no inconveniences in broadcasting live. It makes you think about it, and plan it out, and wait for it to work. Unless you have a specific target, but even then, the "inconveniences" are just part of the fun. When I did mine tonight (see below) I had full AP because I went a day without playing to save up for this, mostly because I had to search for my ammo and find a "deserving" victim at the same time. Granted, I was already in a mall, so finding ammo was less than difficult, but I did spend 15 AP finding Ammo, 5 reloading all of my guns (I have 6 pistols and 4 shotguns), 10 to kill the guy, 10 to broadcast it, and 10 to run away. The key to a successful PK is preparation. Set yourself up several days in advance so that you have plenty of reserve AP to use in case things go wrong. My PK was a spur-of-the-moment thing, and I recognized that I would be able to do it. As I said, the inconveniences make it that much rewarding when you accomplish a successful on-air PK.--Sic Re Mortem 03:37, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Trenchtown Rock! I'd had my PKer alt in Fort Creedy for a few days, and was getting a bit depressed at the trenchiness of it all. That and the fact that people felt totally safe there. So I thought "why not carry out a kill in the very heart of Trenchtown, the Armoury?" I picked this guy because he's the leader of a trenchcoater group from the year 2030, apparently. Also, a couple of days before my hit, there actually was a birthday party held for him in the Armoury. -- Bob Fortune 19:23, 29 August 2007 (BST)

I was down to 3 AP, so sadly I wasn´t able to make any sound effects....next time :) --the wallaby 20:57, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Special Edition Broadcaster

Hamatos.PNG

This took place shortly after the preceding broadcast. I had been having a very interesting discussion with Tidus over whether or not he should start a PKer group, when wallaby came in and interrupted us with an episode of WPKU. As you can imagine, I was rather irked that my former companion had been ousted. Still feeling rather talkative, I convinced wallaby to be a special guest on a broadcast of WPKU. I hope everyone enjoys the irony as much as I did. --Hamatos 17:26, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

I did enjoy the whole show! After all this was quite a splendid evening, enthusiastic fans felt encouraged to respond to my program! Just try to broadcast live next time. --the wallaby 17:39, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

New Broadcaster: Sic Re Mortem

I just committed a decent on-air PK in a crowded mall. Unfortunately, as I was the PK'er, I was unable to get a picture of the text. I hope someone does. I do not like to "toot my own horn" often, but I do think it should be posted.

  • This is Sic Re Mortem broadcasting on 26.17 MHz
  • at the NorthEast Corner of Nichols Mall in Stanburry Village
  • and I would like to welcome you to another exciting episode
  • of PK Live on WPKU
  • Tonight's Victim: Irishstyle
  • Irishstyle, would you like to say anything before we begin? hm?
  • Guess Not. Alright then, let's get this underway

(shot him with shotgun until he had 30 HP left, and then with pistol until 5 HP left)

  • And now for the final blow: Shot to the head with my pistol
  • GOODBYE IRISHSTYLE
  • Thank you ladies and gentlemen for tuning in.
  • And remember, the only good PK'er is the effective PK'er
  • Goodbye and Goodnight.

Yes, it isn't the most creative, but I felt good while doing it. I shall do it more from now on.--Sic Re Mortem 03:37, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Sarah Silverman Broadcasts for WPKU

Sarah broadcasts for WPKU

I've been enjoying Vandr's broadcasts very much of late - especially his back and forth with that Uncle Zeddie character. So I thought I'd toss a little tribute out there to his hard work, and dedicate a guest appearance on his frequency to him. It went something like this:

  • You broadcast "Hellooo Kiddies! Sarah Silverman broadcasting for WPKU " on 26.16 MHz.
  • You broadcast "In SW Blesley Mall - here today to Kill MustDieSlow" on 26.16 MHz.
  • You broadcast "He didn't die all that slowly, but he did hit the ground" on 26.16 MHz.
  • You broadcast "an impressive THUMP!" on 26.16 MHz.
  • You broadcast "Kiss kiss everyone - till our next broadcast!!" on 26.16 MHz.

Thanks for the humor Vandr! Best of luck to all broadcasters! Kiss kiss!--Sarah Silverman 23:18, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Random Broadcast

I used to be pure pro-survivor. I was a good girl. Honest.

And then I got bored.

KaetiaClaireSparrowPKpart1fragment.jpg

I was very disappointed to discover that my alt account, for some reason, did not pick up the rest of the radio transmission, so here is approximately how the rest of it went:

  • *gunshot*
  • Oh, dear, it seems as though Mrs. Sparrow has had an accident.
  • This has been Kaetia at the Latrobe Building.
  • Remember, PKing is bad, mmmkay?

I wasn't very creative, and it was completely spur of the moment, but I think it was the most fun I've had in ages. Weathering constant break-ins at Necrotech labs was starting to become old. --Kaetia 21:45, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Nobody likes a zerger

You say "Hey vanillaguyeugene — sorry, oasis4vereugene… or was it oasis4ver, vanillaguy, eugeneholycow, or holycoweugene? Or maybe *all of the above*, you zerging scumfuck?" to the fifty people nearest to you.
You broadcast "Zerger in Pole Mall: vanillahuyeugene and oasis4vereugene..." on 26.82 MHz.
You broadcast "Sorry, vanillaguyeugene - are in the SE quad. Other zergs..." on 26.82 MHz.
You broadcast "are oasis4ver, vanillaguy, eugeneholycow, and holycoweugene." on 26.82 MHz.
You broadcast "Why yes, Lucille, he *IS* a cheating scumfuck! Well put!" on 26.82 MHz.

<assorted shooting. I realise I have excess AP and have an idea.>

You broadcast "Duke D'oeuvre here, in SE Pole Mall with vanillaguyeugene." on 26.82 MHz.
You broadcast "What do you say to these accusations of zerging scumfuckery?" on 26.82 MHz.
You fire at vanillaguyeugene for 5 damage. Their flak jacket absorbs 1 point of that damage. They die.
You broadcast "*BANG*" on 26.82 MHz.

  • oasis4vereugene said "Zerging? What's that?" (53 seconds ago)

You broadcast "Whoops! Once again, I've pointed a pistol instead of a mic." on 26.82 MHz.
You broadcast "That, ladies and gentlemen, concludes this broadcast." on 26.82 MHz.
You broadcast "Duke D'oeuvre out." on 26.82 MHz.

You broadcast "http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Zerging JUST SAY NO." on 26.82 MHz.

The only thing I regret is not plugging WPKU, because I know that's where I got the inspiration, but it totally slipped my mind. And yes, I reported him on Rezzenz.
