Wyke Hills is a suburb of Malton, located in the south of the city. It contains the eastern half of Buckley Mall.
As Wyke Hills is situated on the edge of Malton, it is considerably less built up and congested as some of the suburbs closer to the center of the city. It is also one of the few areas that, previous to the zombie outbreak had no major route out of the city. Subsequently, it developed much more slowly than other suburbs and housed a considerably lower population of the residents of Malton. This is due in part to high land values and a lack of community buildings, such as schools; Wyke Hills has no schools of any kind, which actually led to the development of a well-accepted homeschooling program prior to the current situation. The suburb also lacks any movie theaters to speak of. There is only a single monument and park to serve as an attraction. Despite this, Wyke hills does have some limited amount of public service buildings, in the form of old, outdated police departments and dilapidated hospitals.
Instead, the suburb can be characterized as having a larger than average (for its number of buildings) level of private commercial development, such as the multitude of pubs and bars (of which several double as music venues) and clubs. This is a theme which continues into the Mall that is located here, which houses none of the larger multinational outlets or chic fashion stores present in other malls in Malton. Instead, Buckley mall is marked as a low key 'back-to-basics' kind of commercial center, where the locals shop for essential day to day supplies. This area also is marked by a light to mid level industrial presence considering its relative obscurity in Malton; in Wyke Hills there are four Necrotech buildings, as well as Auto Repair Shops and several affiliated factories.

NecroNet scans show no activity, and a quick walk around confirms. Taking into account the status of nearby areas, would recommend upgrading status to safe --Lonewolf 17:15, 25 June 2008 (BST)

Tactical Area Rescue would like to remind the residence of Wyke Hills and it's visitors that Knight Square [55,95] is a revive point please do NOT kill zeds standing there unless they have brain rot--Sharline Jade 20:47, 16 June 2008 (BST)

The suburb for the most part is under control. Most buildings are powered and caded, and all revive points are empty. I noticed that Cockayne Grove Police Dept (52, 91) was empty and unpowered, and Botting Towers (53, 91) was ransacked with two zombies inside. Reed Towers (54, 92), Sharpe Library (54, 93) & a warehouse (51, 96) were all underbarricaded according to the barricade plan. These are only the buildings I've visited today, but I've noticed that most of the suburb does not follow the barricade plan and survivors generally do not barricade, or if they do, they over barricade and seem to be unaware that a barricade plan exists. Who's in charge here? Someone needs to work on updating the plan, and informing the suburb inhabitants through a suburb wide graffiti campaign. If anyone wants to work on this, I'm willing to help. --BrainsTasty 06:03, 8 June 2008 (BST)

Most of the buildings are barricaded and powered. There are almost no zeds in the street. This burb is green, not red. -- William Told 23:57, 21 May 2008 (EST)

Ephrem Hospital breached in the early morning hours as barricades fell and zeds poured inside. Section 13 had been supplementing the local survivors, but in the end, the zeds cracked the place like a pinata and snatched up all the delicious survivors they could find.--Tomas Durnin 05:37, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
Members of Section 13 are re-grouping at the announced fallback location. All those from Ephrem Hospital who requested revives should shamble over. First come first revived until we are out of needles. Rocky Ford 14:49, 2 May 2008 (BST)

Things are currently looking bad for the mall as well as the rest of the suburb, however the revive point [51,99] is fully functional and manned so don't give up hope. All is not lost!.
Highest count outside the mall is a horde at the southwest corner. I count 97, all of which are active and hostile. Inside is a whole different ball game with a zed horde (and biggest group) of 132 in the NW corner.
Survivors are still battling it out for the mall with even odds. Go Humans!. --Wildfire 00:37, 1 May 2008 (BST)
The mall is a lost cause now. 300+ zeds inside, with only 75 survivors remaining. --Beastershire 01:00, 1 May 2008 (BST)
External Military "... reporting from Wyke Hills, I've got around three hundred active ... a few big groups, but they're spread out ... a lot of lights on, though, there are still people down there ... serious collateral damage though ... lights are on in the Wicksted ..." --WanYao 02:47, 1 May 2008 (BST)
HRAH HRAH BRA!NZ were had, Buckley mall has been completely emptied of delicious harman meatbags.--Jones Joneson 04:11, 1 May 2008 (BST)
As if having the Dead and the RRF in Wyke Hills were not enought, now the Militant Order of Barhah has arrived as well. The Needs Building NT and the Wicksted Building NT have been trashed. Survivors should strongly consider evacuation at this time.--FLZombie 04:46, 1 May 2008 (BST)

have not been outside to check yet, but radio reports sound like horde of zeds is moving into Wyke Hills and taking over. Someone may need to check danger levels might be heading up to orange/red..... check area using binoculars am by buckley mall there are 134 zeds in the vicinity of the mall (my south) 75 to the north of me, this does not sound like a yellow zone to me!! --Kathleen8 01:01, 30 April 2008 (BST)
Let me confirm it for you then. Zeds are already breaching the mall. I be tinkin it's time to get out now. While you can. -- BlackReaper 02:10, 30 April 2008 (BST)
Indeed Zeds have breached the mall in the SW corner. Approximately 50 Zeds inside. Lots of survivors though so if we make our stand we may be able to repel them. Guns of Eld is here for the duration. Stand and fight don't run away and we may live to tell the tale. -- Kleenur (Guns of Eld) 10:10,30 April 2008 (CST)
At least 150 Zed outside of Buckley, unknown inside. St. Emilia's and St. Dionysus are holding strong. --Haliwali 17:26, 30 April 2008 (BST)
Over 150 inside and more than 100+ waiting outside. This fight is over, survivors at work/school will return to be zombie later. Time to enjoy my new zombie body . --BigKab 18:44, 30 April 2008 (BST)
Just took a look at Buckley to see if the mall had actually fallen as quickly as I heard it had. It's true. What was once filled with four to five hundred survivors now has all but the NE corner ruined. The remaining corner has 103 survivors and 82 zeds (at my count) with over 250 zeds in the other three corners. I'd recommend any survivors that have lived through this to quickly leave the area. --Irioth 00:30, 1 May 2008 (BST)

Wow, havent posted here for some time. Anyhow, battle for relatively insignificant building named Ryles in north-west Wyke Hills begun, as a small group of 'zeds bust in, past the barricades. Survivors attempted to repel them, but it looks pretty grim to be quite honest. Considering that this is a non-resource building, I imagine the rest of Wyke is pretty much fuc... -Sherwin Matthews

The Craigie Building is overrun, as are Cockayne Grove PD and a number of other secondary resource points in north Wyke Hills. Revive queues are up to 20+ at both southern cemeteries, and it sounds like they're only going to get longer.
Gather ye in the south, survivors, lest ye become harman hambargahz.--Kyle April 28th, 2008

EXTERNAL MILITARY REPORT: Flying over Wyke Hills, at a glance you can see the District is definately under the contol of survivors. Buckley mall is secure and there are more survivors on the streets than Zombies. Revive points are relitively clear but for how long?--Unknown
Wykes Hill-A patch of green in a sea of red, yellow, and orange. The only safe area left. All survivors (around 20) from Williamsville along with any from Lockettside (Unknown Amount) need to help defend Wyke Hills. I can guarentee the zombies will be heading there next, and that is the most important suburb in the entire city to keep.--User:John Kingston 01:48 (BST) April 27, 2008

The mall hasn't fallen, it's defended by hundreds of survivors. --Nom de Plume 19:53, 25 April 2008 (BST)
Good to hear, but chould someone said the mall had 80 or so zeds inside on my radio, was that a lie? If any one knows, please tell me on my talk page.--Jamie Cantwel3 Talk TTC 21:28, 25 April 2008 (BST)

Hi, that update is 5 days old new there is a large zed group from the north heading down south and will likely move on Wyke Hills. I am not changing the safe level thing because I think someone from a group in the burb should take a look at the place and change it from safe to something else. My safehouse, if you can call it that these day broken into and I barley got out in time. I don't call that safe...and I think the mall has fallen I heard on my radio that they had like 80 or so zeds inside and then that's all I heard.--Jamie Cantwel3 Talk TTC 07:59, 25 April 2008 (BST)

Fought and killed a lone zombie outside of The Needs building. Hid inside the building alone afterward. It is strongly barricaded and there are about fifteen other people here. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xtalcase (talk • contribs) at an unknown time.

NE area of the suburb is crawling with small groups of zombies, particularly around Ephram General Hospital. Reports suggest a large group of zeds (50+?) maybe coming from West Grayside. --tomas durnin April 11th, 2008 23:20 pm (EDT)
[edit] April 06th
Did a quick run around, noticed that almost every single building I saw was at EHB. I suggest that at least some buildings lower their barricades to VSB while the area seems safer. When more zombies arrive, increase back up. But for now, it is difficult from someone with few action points or without free running to get to safety. --Zaiphyr April 6th, 2008 13:15 pm (GMT)
[edit] April 5th
Area secure, only a flew stragler zombies left. Should be made a green zone again. However this may change as Hordes from Hollomstown are heading for he suburb. Survivors head to the mall or flee. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alex1guy (talk • contribs) at an unknown time.
