Description

History

Decades before the outbreak that now infests the city, this was the meeting place of many of the older residents of Roywood. To be more accurate, the Bodilly Alley Railway station was where retired old men would talk about local events, brag about their grandchildren, argue which football coach needed to be sacked (and why they could do a better job) and whatever else crossed their minds. A few would smoke a pipe, many would play cards but almost all had beards. The railway station was known by locals as Beardsly Alley and to commemorate this unique tradition a nearby street had it's name changed to Beard Place.
