Overview
The Church of Static is a cult-like surviver group dedicated to the protection of the Mobile Phone Masts, Radio Transmitters/Radios and their apparent center of worship the Emergency Broadcast System. Even though not many are high level, they have a huge amount of munitions that they are willing to use to protect the "Holy chatter" from threats... Zombie or human....
Beliefs
The Church worships the EBS as a supreme being and believes CORAM to be some kind of divine protecters. There connection to the EBS is unclear but it seems many were driven mad by the radio chatter after so long without communication. They believe that the phone masts seem to increase the power of the EBS and that, should they increase network coverage to 100% then the "holy chatter" will once again rise as a physical being and save them from the damned. They seem to think that Radio transmitters allow one to be closer to god and that radios are like bibles.
Pre-outbreak
Before the outbreak many of the followers were simply phone users, many teenagers and other obsessive phone users. After the quarintine was enforced many just could not cope without their communication and went mad. When hey discovered radio, they mistook it for a hhigher blessing.
New Members
Anybody can join, all you must do is change your alliance to "Church of Static" and add at the bottom of your description "CoS, Radio is God"
Many CoS members prove their worth by making a pilgrimage to the great Emergency Broadcast System during their lives. Some have even attempted the ultimate proof of their devotion. A trip to every Mobile Phone Mast from 1 (Dakerstown to 100 (Miltown) before heading back to the EBS. It is said that who ever does this (By screenshotting himself at each site) shall become a joint leader of the CoS.
