Description

Clitsome Square is a street in the suburb of Vinetown.

History

Originally known as Someclit Square, the area was re-named in 1974 after an embarrassing write-up in a national news magazine.

Set up as a commnuity project, several large walls were constructed here to promote graffiti as an artform, and to stop the constant vandalism on Hartland Bank. The project was a huge succes, with many local artists producing pieces. Some of these artists later found themselves under arrest after using tags previously discovered on Caunt Street Police Department.
