The Famed Club Greswell Disco Ball

Description

A fire-damaged grey-stone building surrounded by a large paved plaza. The shattered remains of a disco ball have often been sighted clinging to the ceiling. These sightings are few and far between, with the recent Zombie Epidemic and consequent lack of disco lights. The plaza, once bustling with people, now lies desolate in the ruins of Crooketon.

History

Club Greswell was once the coolest club in Malton, renowned for its bright lights, exciting music and most importantly of all, its world-renowned Disco Ball. The Club greswell Disco ball was of disputed origins. Some claimed that the landlord had found it in a skip outside Club Bolt, which at the time had been far more popular. However, it was a very small amount of the population that believed or circulated such rumours.

Most people agreed that the Greswell Disco Ball was the stuff of legend. What came to be recognised as the official story told that the Disco Ball had been found tied to the Ganden Monument early one summer's morning, with no sign of where it had come from. Upon being taken by some local children to Stevenson Crescent School, it had been confiscated, and eventually sold at a charity fair. But the origin of the Disco Ball was not what made it so special.

The Club greswell Disco Ball always shone the hardest, created the best effects, and was generally the most atmospheric. In the late 60s, fierce competition had taken place between Club Greswell and another local Club, Club Bolt, leading to repeated attempts to better each other. These were put to an end in 1968 by the arrival of the Club Greswell Disco ball, which gave Greswell a clear victory in the customer war.

The Disco Ball was not always a permanent fixture in Greswell, however. After becoming renowned for its funkiness, and its ability to solve people's deepest problems through dance, it was frequently loaned out across the local area. Most notably, the Fireman's ball at Furneaux Square Fire Station used it as a centrepiece. It was presumed that the glory-filled days of the Club Greswell Disco Ball would never end. But they did.

On the 2nd of July, 2005, a fight in the club led to the puncturing and destruction of the Club Greswell Disco Ball. The damage was irreperable. 24 hours later, in what is assumed to be an unrelated twist of events, zombies flooded the city, leading to its absolute destruction. To this day, nobody knows just where the Disco Ball came from.

Barricade Policy

As per the Crooketon Barricade Plan, Club Greswell should be kept Extremely Heavily Barricaded and Dark.
