DSS Red Zone Support

DSS Red Zone Support is a tightly focused organization, dedicated to a singular mission: we find the most dangerous suburbs, the ones overwhelmed by zeds, falling into disrepair, swarming with PK's – the Red Zones – and we bloody well take them back. In a city of chaos, DSS is a force of order, bringing medical, electrical, security, repair, and necrotechnical services into the worst hellholes in Malton.

Please use our forum or the discussion page to contact us – we're always on the lookout for smart, motivated survivors, willing to stand with us in the struggle to reclaim our city. It's time to take back the streets.

News

Febuary 2010

Feb 10th

Operation Sting like a Bee has been a success. This experiment in the Havercroft region to see if reviving everything in sight actually works. DSS moved in with the goal to revive 100 zombies in a week with final total at 107. Havercroft was red at the beginning of operation sting like a bee and is now yellow so the results speak for themselves.

May 2009

May 3rd

Operation Invincible Bumblebee is ongoing in Penny Heights. After a couple setbacks, DSS is successfully repopulating and rebuilding the suburb. Revive queues are back to manageable numbers, new buildings recovered every day.

April 2009

April 10th

Operation Thrusting Rutabaga was completed successfully. This was a short mission into Ridleybank to get a Necronet scan from the Blackmore Building, and repair suburb's mobile phone mast. The Blackmore was already in survivor hands, so we took the mast plus a hospital and a factory. We had the phones up for a couple days, then partied in Alner Mansion.

The team is back in Malton SE gearing up for Operation Invincible Bumblebee.

March 2009

March 30th

Operation Penny Ante is completed, chalked up as a success, though certainly not by our own efforts alone. We helped recover the suburb, of course. We also learned to work together, recruited personnel, made friends, and established our alliance with the MUM.

DSS is now moving to an undisclosed location in central Malton, in preparation for Operation Thrusting Rutabaga, details of which are presently classified. --Sophie Ames

Past Operations

  • Operation Sting like a Bee, an experiment in Havercroft to see the effect of revives on local danger levels and survivor reactions, Febuary 2010.
  • Operation Invincible Bumblebee, an operation to repopulate, rebuild and defend Penny Heights, May 2009.
  • Operation Covert Enigma, an operation so covert that we would have to kill you if we even told you its real name.
  • Operation Thrusting Rutabaga, strike on the Blackmore Building and Ridleybank's phone mast, April 2009.
  • Operation Penny Ante, a rebuilding operation in Penny Heights, February-March 2009.

DSS FAQ

What is your stance on player killing?

Generally, we do not engage PKers, because it is inefficient and because that lies outside of our line of work. We remove troublesome individuals on occasion, when it suits our purposes.

What is your stance on combat reviving?

We are shameless combat revivers. We fall just short of full C.R.A.P. policy: we only try to avoid reviving the most dangerous-looking buggers. But will do even those if cornered.

What is your stance on zerging?

Zero tolerance. Group members are required to have their alts lead separate existences from that of their DSS character, and to keep the alt characters themselves at least one suburb away from the suburbs we are operating in.

What does 'DSS' stand for?

That information is classified.

The DSS Green Zone Lounge Lizards

During April of 2009, DSS member George Zip finally went forward with his vague plan to set up a DSS alter-group - the DSS Green Zone Lounge Lizards - which would manage a radio station purely for fun, with no strategic significance whatsoever. The Lounge Lizards would consist exclusively of voluntary members from the ranks of Red Zone Support, creating a radio-centric alter-group. The Lounge Lizards are currently inactive; ex-Lizard Captain Video now pursues his hobby at the EBS with CORAM.

The DSS Section 2

We don't comment on Section 2.
