|Description: In short, if a player character idles out, if the account is logged into, their state is that of a dead body.  This is great, as it doesn't make sense for someones character to stop moving for 10 years and suddenly come back to life with full gear with no penalty.  Try it, stop moving for 10 years and see if you are dead or not.
|Description: In line with my Urban Dead Go and AP Micropayments suggestions, I endeavour to keep UD updated to the times with some dance moves, stolen straight from megahit Fortnight.

Zombies and Surviors would both get a message, something like "You slumber into unconsciousness and die."
In line with the latest favourite dance moves from the game, I think we should add the famous "Floss", "Orange Justice", "Electro Shuffle", and of course, "Take the L".
Then there is a box saying "Stand up"

10 years is just an example, whatever the idle flag is (I think it's 30 days) would make sense.
More dance moves to be added over time, possibly as part of some "season" addition to Urban Dead (season suggestion pending).

Thoughts?

Ap cost would be the default, affected by the ankle grab skill.-- 02:52, 6 July 2018 (UTC)
Of course, the main barriers to this excellent suggestion are 1) copyright infringement and 2) the fact that dance is already possible in the game for the undead. 12:19, 7 October 2018 (UTC)

I do agree that waking up alive after 10 years is somewhat unrealistic. I'm on Tumblr, and the Urban Dead tag there is full of people saying "I logged back in after ten years, and I'm still alive!" Clearly either they don't understand the idling-out mechanic, or are commenting on this very issue about it. However, in many parts of the city, 30 days is not a difficult time to survive, given how safe/calm much of Malton is these days.
All dancing should be via Flailing Gesture as God and His Prophet intended.  Revenant 05:54, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
----

My only other concern is that most survivor players idle out inside buildings, and thus this would be exploitable for piñata-ing purposes (kind of like a zombie equivalent to Big Game Ruin Hunting in that zombies can use a large amount of "AP" (30 days' worth wasted) to reach the threshold, then log in dead inside a building and piñata it. (This would also be true of unintentional idle-outs, but I expect most survivor players logging in after a long time wouldn't immediately piñata wherever they are.) Maybe 30 days is too short to prevent this exploit, or maybe the exploit is a feature rather than a bug. Let me know your thoughts. 10:20, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Bob's point is a really good reason for more tweaks. Perhaps have them wake up dead and outside? 12:45, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

|Description: I propose an addition of some new items to the game, an "Infinity Gauntlet" (Or as I like to call it, the "Thanos Glove"), and 6 individual "Infinity Stones".

:It is some concern that a zombie could wake up into a building and attempt to ruin it. A lone zombie would have difficulty doing this to a populated room, not to mention the odds are probably even that the building is EHB. I recently had one of my zombies break into a NT building, where there were two survivors inside. I was unable to kill any, as I had almost no Ap. Over the next two days or so, I would log in and attempt to kill the survivors and was unsuccessful.  Stored Ap in the form of items is extremely powerful in this game.
All these items will be scattered randomly throughout Malton.

:That said, I was assuming the death mechanic would create a dead body for X amount of days.  This would enable normal interactions with that dead body, including the ability to dump it outside.-- 00:26, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Having the Thanos Glove in your inventory will allow you to collect the Infinity Stones if you come across them. Even though any player can collect an Infinity Stone, only the player with the Thanos Glove can utilise the advantage a Stone gives you. You have an additional max health of 50hp per infinity stone in your inventory when couple with the Infinity Glove.
:That said, I have no problem with dead bodies automatically dumped to the outside of buildings. Either way is fine.  I was thinking of older suggestions that were seen as "too complicated to code" or "taxing on the server".-- 08:02, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
::Maybe an option is that when the person logs back in, the game would check if the building is ruined and if so, they wake up dead? (Or if they idled out outdoors.) Would mean the suggestion would only apply about a quarter (?) of the time, though, given the citywide proportion of ruined buildings. 12:46, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

Are we pretending that this game is going to see any changes ever again? --Ɛňvϊoцᵴ (talk) 00:10, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
Players with an Infinity Stone in their inventory will have a small (S) icon next to their name and HP, when in the same block as other players.
:Yes. -- 07:55, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
:"I'm opposed to change because change will never happen" is the attitude I most dislike on this wiki. 12:19, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

Meh. It’s not like anyone actually has to eat any more. Like it says in the FAQ, Malton is just full of world-class hide-and-seek players.  Revenant 11:00, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
When a player has the Infinity Stone and dies, the stone(s) that were in their inventory will be redistributed randomly throughout Malton. If you kill someone with the Thanos Glove, you take the glove from them and it becomes yours.
:That said, this would be absolutely hilarious if applied to Monroeville and Borehamwood. “Time to log in another idled character and display my superior— oh what the shit I'm dead?!”  Revenant 11:03, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
::Also, idle is 5 days, MIA is 1 month.  Revenant 11:05, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
:::Yes, I've been operating assuming they meant death happens if MIA for 1 month.

|Description: I started making some generic locations to unstub some of the 6000+ locations/streets here, but before making them into a big deal I wanted to clear with others if this is even a good idea.

Every location type will have at least 4 different options to make it somewhat less generic and hopefully a little inviting towards players who might not have the big time creative storytelling. As of now I have inserted some options within the generic locations so that every Restaurant doesn't serve the same food - same will be done for workshops, grocery stores and apartment complexes etc. Many stubs are non-TRP locations and they should all link to either history and/or any useful information like items and other locations too, just to make them more useful.
Great way for death cultists to balance the game in the favour of Zombies.

Any generic location will of course have some sort of template so all users know that the generic locations are open to all creative editing, even deletion if someone has something to add - the plan is not to finish off the map, but to give to fill out the small holes. Most of this is based on something I found in Rosslessness' userspace and I feel it deserves some attention which is why I'm making the suggestion.
Thoughts please.

-Don't mind the pictures, or boxes. This is all work in progress, and thanks for the inputs I have gotten so far!

Discussion (Generic locations.)
Discussion (Infinity Gauntlet)
Hallo! Unfortunately, this isn't the right place for this question — Developing Suggestions is for suggested in-game changes, and this is an on-wiki change.
+1 -- 06:37, 7 October 2018 (UTC)

That said, I'd say just go for it. In general, for changes that don't affect the major workings of the wiki (e.g. administrative stuff, the DangerReport or Map systems) go ahead and make changes — if it's a big problem we can always clean it up later. Things like building descriptions are totally free to edit, and as long as you're not deleting lovingly-crafted content (which you won't be, if this is to be used on stubs) you're all set.

(For a shameless-plug example of a previous mass-content-add, check out the Malton Rail network I constructed in 2015 and added to all rail stations in the city. Nobody objected to that, at least not yet!) 23:13, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
Of course, the main barriers to this excellent suggestion are 1) copyright infringement and 2) idling out — if there are only, say, two gloves in Malton, if all five of those characters idle out, then the mechanic is effectively removed from the game. Unless I'm misunderstanding the frequency at which the gloves/stones would appear? 12:20, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
:That's a good point. I intended for only one Gauntlet, and one of each stone, to be in Malton at any one time. Let's say for sake of argument that if a character had one of these items and then idled out, those items would be randomly redistributed throughout Malton again. 11:25, 8 October 2018 (UTC)

<s>Two</s> three questions necessary to fill out these mechanics of this suggestion:
#How does one find these items? Just searching randomly in any building? Any block? Inside or outside?
#How many AP does it cost to Click Fingers?
#Is Click Fingers <s>spammable</s> repeatable or is it more of a one-time thing?
 Revenant 05:51, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
:Also, denying zombies both access to the glove and the ability to be affected by it is CLASSIC survivor-centric bias. I move that the glove should be zombie only and that every zombie with Brain Rot should automatically have one.  Revenant 05:58, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
::That's a really fair point. Zombies can wear the Thanos Glove too, and can obtain stones similarly. However, since they lack the search function, they can only get it by killing a survivor/zombie that has stone. This enables them to have a critically different experience than the survivors, who can only obtain stones by search and not killing. Zombies with a stone also appear completely normal to other players. They only have the (S) appear by their name if they get jabbed by a DNA extractor. 05:19, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
:The sheer power of the Thanos Glove on mere humans is evident by its catastrophic AP (50) and HP (50) cost. So it's not guaranteed to kill the snapper outright, but might. Thoughts? 05:22, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Adding a New Discussion

To add a general discussion topic, please add a Tier 3 Header (===Example===) below, with your idea or proposal.

Adding a New Suggestion

 • Paste the copied text above the other suggestions, right under the heading.
 • Substitute the text in RED CAPITALS with the details of your suggestion.
 • The process is illustrated in this image.

 • Name - Give the suggestion a short but descriptive name.
 • Type is the nature of the suggestion, such as a new class, skill change, balance change.
 • Scope is who or what the suggestion affects. Typically survivors or zombies (or both), but occasionally Malton, the game interface or something else.
 • Description should be a full explanation of your suggestion. Include information like flavor text, search odds, hit percentages, etc, as appropriate. Unless you are as yet unsure of the exact details behind the suggestion, try not to leave out anything important. Check your spelling and grammar.
