The Second South-western district was known before the outbreak as a peaceful, almost sleepy area of the city. Originally 5 small villages before Malton expanded its commuter belt, the area still retains a certain rural feel. Local planners had fought for years to retain this specific identity and as a result special permissions had to be sought for the construction of any buildings over two stories high. This may help to explain the areas almost total lack of Necrotech facilities.

Another feature that helps identify the area is its wide streets and numerous flower beds. Such features caused the district to adopt the slightly more welcoming name of The Rose District.

The picturesque neighborhoods and rustic feel led to a large cultural movement in the district during the latter half of the 20th Century. Artists, musicians, and writers of all stripes sought out housing in the Rose District for the same reason locals loved the area so much and often stayed here their whole lives. As the years turned and younger generations took positions of power, steps were taken to showcase the creative folk who had come to call the Rose District home. Clubs both raucus and sophisticated began to pop up, with local artists almost exclusively headlining. Even more visibly were the numerous museums that took shape (the Rose District is home to 18 in total).

District SW-2 consists of Grigg Heights, Reganbank, Lerwill Heights, Crooketon, and Mornington.

Historically no large scale zombie groups have ever called the area home. DORIS once claimed a large chunk of the region, but most recently the Order of the Black Rose has sought to unite survivor groups across the 5 suburbs.
