Basic Info:

  • Excellent place to find first aid kits. Zombies frequently check inside.
  • Portable Generators have a use other than powering the lights and increasing search probability in hospitals. Players with the Surgery Skill can heal for 15 HP if the Hospital has a fueled up Generator.
  • Hospitals can be barricaded normally.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in Hospitals:
    • "...its wards and corridors blackened with the soot of a recent fire"
    • "...its empty wards criss-crossed with snapped quarantine tape."
    • "...one of the city's psychiatric hospitals."
    • "...dark corridors leading through abandoned wards."
    • "...its emergency room in disarray."
    • "...its lobby covered with quarantine posters."
    • "...a children's hospital with bright murals across the walls. "
    • "The main lobby is riddled with bullet holes."
    • "It was one of the last to be evacuated, and seems to have been cleared out in a hurry."
    • "...a derelict hospital that was closed down years ago."

Description

This Edmund General Hospital (53,20) is one of three hospitals in Shearbank and located in the northern border. It is one block SW of the Hawksley Building, a NecroTech front in Millen Hills.

Barricade policy

Do not overbarricade this building. It should be maintained as an accessible safe house and free running entryway, and as such the barricades should be maintained at Very Strongly Barricaded (VSB++) unless the hospital comes under attack. See the Shearbank Barricade Plan for more details.

August 18, 2009 4 zombies inside. radio transmission is down. a zombie has destroyed the generator. currently only lightly barricaded. many survivors inside. need to get rid of the zombies and rebuild the barricades.

Dec 10th, 2008 - 17:50 GMT 0+ : Actually under attack, 27 survivors (reinforcement coming) against 50+ zeds outside :D Like a wise man said "BARRICADES COMING DOWN!!!", but it seems survivors keep kicking zeds outside when they manage to get inside. "You're doing it wrong" zeds :) The suburb is still safe (even if a MOB's pet is posting POV-news on Shearbank page).

22:34 : the 20 to 25 survivors are defending well against zombies, kicking their asses outside as soon as they get inside (maximum was 4 zombies at same time). Even if some PKer hit'n'run 6 survivors and destroy 4 genny and 2/3 radio transmitter, the hospital is still here, healing people.
