Finlay Boulevard

Description

Formerly a multi-sensory assault of supreme tackiness, Finlay Boulevard was a commercial hub leading to the cinema complex of northwest Foulkes Village.

Finlay Boulevard aka Tackytown

History

Finlay Boulevard was developed during the 80s 'Me Decade' by the eponymous owner of one of the Village's junkyards.

Through criminal means, 'Fingers' Finlay had amassed both the capital and the blackmail leverage to 'encourage' the Village's civic leaders to allow him to buy several plots of unused Village land at knockdown prices. Knowing that two cinemas were about to be built nearby, Finlay took a dead-cert gamble on the value of this land skyrocketing, and built a series of cheap, shoddy yet popular enterprises in order to cash in: strip malls, casinos, souvenir shops and massage parlours soon sprang up to cater to the influx of visitors from central Malton, and in particular the sleazier denizens of Nixbank to the north.

So tacky and vulgar did Finlay's 'Tackytown' become, that many long-term residents of Foulkes Village actually petitioned for it to be designated part of Nixbank, but the plans to redraw the suburban map of Malton were halted by the zombie apocalypse.

Instead of dazzled consumers shuffling from neon signs to flashing lights, ooh-ing and aah-ing at the shopfront displays, the Boulevard is now frequented by shambling zombies, lurching from severed limbs to spattered brains, graaghing and mrhing.
