We are the Gibsonton Squatters, a group of anarchists, anti-consumers, ex-workers, bohemians, and assorted non-capitalists living and working in liberty and freedom in the Gibsonton Squatter's Commune, based primarily around the Squat in North Gibsonton.

We oppose the works of Imperialists, Fascists, Corporate Neo-Colonialists, and Neo-Imperialists. We primarily use nonviolent tactics such as civil disobedience and subvertisement to voice our dissent, but have been known to take militant action against groups that attempt to censor us, destroy our equipment, or actively oppress the people of Gibsonton.

As an anarchist group, all decisions regarding group policy and alliances are made by popular democracy. No coercive force is levied on group members.

We Believe:

1. The State and hierarchy is violent in its nature and relies on violence to enforce its rule on the people. The State maintains power through its monopoly of violence, creating a social structure in which the empowered few rule over the disempowered many.

2. Capitalism, and all other systems wherein land and the means of production are privately held by some and worked by others, is an exploitative and hierarchical system that robs people of real self-ownership and creates social stratification and antagonism.

3. The State inevitably favors the powerful, who have influence over the state, and thus maintains social stratification. In those cases where the disenfranchised take over the State, a new social stratification is born. Even a socialist state leads to social class stratification and oppression. Socialism works best when done voluntarily in communes in which a non-contributing member can be voted out of the commune by popular democracy and a nonhierarchal organization ensures that no person establishes abusive dominance. To establish all economic power in the hands of the state is suicidal.

4. Therefor, to establish greater freedom and equality for all people, the State and the capitalist property structure must be abolished, and a society built on the basis of free federation, grassroots democracy, polycentric conflict resolution, and mutual aid.

5. That to establish this, we must organize democratic associations of oppressed peoples, participate in direct action, and build dual power.

6. That a culture of respect for the rights of others, and of responsibility and solidarity, must be built.

History:

Conflict with the Imperium

The history of Squatter conflict with the Imperium is long. The first act of open aggression between the two was an attack on the Squat by Imperium troops attempting to stop the Squatters from broadcasting anti-authoritarian messages from their home. The jack-booted thugs destroyed a radio and generator and murdered a Squatter. After this, the Squatters maintained a policy of using tags, detournment, and rhetoric to protest Imperium domination of the suburb. This led the Imperium to send one of their troops to murder a Squatter in April of 2010. The Squatters demanded the murder of their members cease and delivered terms of peace to the Imperium, which the Imperium refused. In typical authoritarian fashion, the Imperium attacked the Squat and killed its inhabitants as their declaration of war. The Squatters have since vowed to engage in guerilla war against the Imperium. Also, our art is much better than theirs.

The limits of tyrants is prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress

In September of 2010, the Imperium falsely declared the war over, despite the continued activity of the Squatters in resistance. The Squatters collectively laughed at the thugs' pathetic attempt to claim victory and aggrandize themselves.

In October of 2010, the Squatters approached the Imperium in-game with an offer of a ceasefire to focus on the rapid invasion of zombies and the presence of neo-Nazi extremists in the suburb. This offer was refused, possibly due to miscommunication, and though the Squatters ceased attacks on the Imperium to aid in the defense of the suburb, the Imperium continued their aggression, wasting resources and killing valuable defenders. The Squatters subsequently decided to end their unilateral ceasefire, and to remain in Gibsonton to resist the zombies and the Imperium.
