Description

Goodson Towers is an office tower located in the suburb of Rolt Heights. It is maintained by the Goodsons unless they are indisposed. Completed in 1958, the Goodson Towers were constructed as office building to meet Rolt Heights growing work force associated with local industries. Consisting of 30 floors (not including the basement and the mezzanine) it would in later years become haunted on every level of this structure by spiritual entities.

It is believed many of the hauntings are associated with a ghost known as "Old Man Scott", who died in 1967 in his 30th floor executive office. Reports tell that he had been dead for several days before he was finally discovered by cleaning staff, with his untimely discovery being blamed on the fact that his untimely demise ocurred during Christmas vacation. The coroner ruled out foul play and reported Scott died of natural causes, a heart attack to be specific. Workers in the building attribute many of the hauntings to him, but it's believed he is not the only spirit within Goodson Towers. In 1972 another gentleman who worked at the Goodson Towers was attempting to fix one of the flags in front of the building. It was during this that he lost his balance and fell to his death. Some speculate though that his death may not have been accidental, but police found no proof to the contrary.

It has been reported that the 20th floor in particular is very active with supernatural phenomena. One of the more well-known stories involved a security guard who was on his late-night rounds back in the 1980s. While his partner remained on duty in the lobby, the guard eventually came to the 20th floor legal room when he noticed light coming from under the door in an otherwise pitch-black office area. As he approached the room he reported that he heard a low din of noise, similar to the sound of people talking. The guard completed his rounds and returned to the lobby. Both guards continued their watch in relative silence until 1:00 AM. At this time the security guard returned to his rounds and once again visited the 20th floor. Upon arriving on the 20th floor the guard walked up to the legal room and noticed the lights were now off. Opening the door to check inside, all that greeted him was an empty room. Surprised, he went back down to the lobby, convinced he must have missed them on the way up, but when he inquired with the other guard he was informed that no one was signed to use the room and no one had left the building all night. They were completely alone.

Following the "Malton Incident", it was during the Rolt Heights War the Goodson Towers gained some fame as being one of the very few locations in the entire suburb where the PKA never reported murdering a survivor. Considering the death toll for the month-long conflict totalled into the hundreds this made the building stand out to some degree.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually supported Rolt Heights Barricade Plan set forth in agreement with local survivor groups. This building is meant to serve as a shelter for Malton's inexperienced survivors and an entry point into the more fortified buildings around it.

It should be noted that as no specific survivor group monitors nor maintains the barricades associated with this barricade plan, so therefore it is not considered to be enforced. As such, survivors should always expect to find the barricades set at varying levels depending on the survivors inside the building. For the most part though, survivors should always expect to find this building over-barricaded rather than under-barricaded simply due to survivor nature.
