After the outbreak, Malton's Municipal Sanitation Department was repurposed to aid in the containment effort. City garbage trucks accompanied teams of soldiers through the city; deactivated zombies were loaded into the trucks, the design of which made escape difficult, and the vehicles unloaded their grisly cargo at one of the city's many cremation centers.

That is the official story the Department has provided to us. However, interviews with survivors suggest that, while these details are correct, they do not encompass the full scope of the Department's operations. Three separate Sanitation employees (two of whom were drivers) say they were summarily dismissed and replaced with new personnel when the Department was retasked. We have also learned that a number of "former" NecroTech employees were added to the payroll at the same time.

Some individuals claim to have seen Sanitation workers accompanying NecroTech officials conducting operations in the city's cemeteries. Two separate accounts agree that the NecroTech personnel return from these operations with vials of an unknown yellow agent. Miscellaneous documents suggest a connection to one or more of NecroTech's black projects.

Recently, satellite photographs of Malton have shown Sanitation Department trucks lingering outside Krinks Power Station. Krinks was intentionally shut down early in the crisis since, being a nuclear power plant, it represented a major hazard if permitted to run unmanned. An inside source has informed me that the Department was retrieving canisters of uranium hexafluoride under the aegis of something called "WORMWOOD."
