Lockettside has generally gone back to usual. Sproadic Zombie attacks/ break-in attempts are still ongoing especially for Pursey (NT), but things are generally calm. -- Lynx7725 05:43, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

You can't see zed's above a group of 3 on the horizon.I try to keep Bridgewater Crescent Police Dpt. VSB except in a siege.Where is my welcome party to the neighborhood?(waves to the HOPE guys at the building next to him :D).--Archaon james 15:11, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Josaphat General Hospital is under attack with a breach yesterday that was repulsed, there are currently 7 standing Z's outside and 8 bodies. Over cading seems to be rife in eastern Lockettside with entry points changing on a daily basis. The Junkyard (25,85) between the Joliffe Building and Club Frankland is enterable at the moment.--Fausta Gummings 18:56, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Only five standing zombies outside one of the corners of Tompson Mall. People is hurrying to do their last Christmas lootings. Mall ambient music is annoying as usual. --Doc Groucho 05:56, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

The Ridleybank Resistance Front's Christmas Food Drive '08, in association with the Undeadites and Feral Undead, has now seen three corners of Tompson Mall ruined, along with Cheeke NT and St. Alexander's Hospital. With revive queues long and growing longer, the suburb hangs in the balance.--Papa Moloch 04:36, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

December 05th

Northeast corner of Thompson Mall has been breached by a zombie horde and is in ruins. All other corners still have no zombies, but the fall of the mall seems imminent--[[Zithras 09:47, 5 December 2008 (UTC)]]

Historic Events

November/ December 2008 RFF Christmas Food Drive

The Ridleybank Resistance Front's Christmas Food Drive '08 trickled into Lockettside around Late November 2008, but hit heavily in early December. This drive is characterized by Zombie Sympathizers attacks on generators in resource buildings prior to actual Zombie attacks. Tompson Mall was overran in early December, but the RRF did not occupy the mall for very long. Instead, they moved eastwards into the suburb proper.

With proper preparation and the willingness to make runs to the overran and unsecured Tompson Mall, most resource buildings were rebarricaded and repowered within a day or two. This did generally provoked more GK attacks and zombie break-ins, but with RFF not occupying key resource buildings, resupply was available (if disruptable) and reoccupation was generally not a major issue.

Overall, the RFF Christmas Food Drive generally achieved the objective of spicing things up for Lockettside, but not overdoing it such that the Suburb became untenable. The Drive was a credible assault on Lockettside and disruptions were widespread, but RFF's willingness to move on enabled survivors to pick up the pieces, and learn valuable lessons while doing so.

An unintended side effect is that it appears the PKing crowd that plagued Lockettside prior to the Food Drive appears to have been driven off ahead of the Zombie Horde. It remains to be seen if they would return or go to other Suburbs.

January 2008 Assault on Tompson Mall

On Thursday, 04 Jan 2006, the assault on Tompson Mall was begun.

The assault was started at 1700GMT by the Shambling Seagulls, who struck the NE corner of the mall, targetting high-level players.

At 1830GMT the Undying Scourge followed in the Seagulls tracks and left a gaping hole in the defenses of the mall, killing many characters.

Then at 1900GMT the Minions of the Apocalypse piled in behind, wreaking carnage and increasing the body count exponentially.

The Tompson Mall has since returned to its stronghold self although some feral zombies remain active in the suburb.

In a related assault, on Jan 3 2006, Da Shamblin' WAAAGH would begin its seige of the Frossard Police Department. Even though they are a smaller group consisting of relatively low level zombies, they prevailed through closely coordinated attacks and persistence.

On 8 Jan 2006, all the survivors were finally cleared from the Frossard Police Department and it is now under zombie control.

By 0800 on 11 Jan 2006, three corners of Tompson Mall had been emptied and a few dozen sleeping survivors remained in the SW Mall. As most of its defenders fled or were killed, Tompson Mall fell a few hours later.

For more on the January Assault on Tompson Mall, please see the historical perspective at Attack on Tompson Mall. Contributions are welcomed.

One factor in the collapse is entirely understated in the Attack on Tompson Mall discussion. During the lull prior to the mall's final collapse (Jan 6-9), the assumption was made that zombie activity was low. From the perspective of most survivors in the neighborhood this may be true. However, concerted attacks on known and suspected Confederacy leadership targets were made over a 5 day period prior to the final assault, most of whom were not in the mall itself but instead were located in surrounding buildings. Any known leaders as well as any high level survivors spotted were targeted for elimination as soon as they were spotted in an effort to soften up the neighborhood. Some of these survivors were actually killed multiple times over the course of several days.

This apparently lulled the remaining survivors, which comprised the bulk of the mall inhabitants, into a false sense of security. When the final attack on the mall finally came, many of the defense organizers were probably either dislocated to safehouses farther away or already dead (a safe assumption because most were absent during the fall). The resulting chaos led to a general failure in the mall's defenses which caused it's total collapse to occur within 24 hours.

January 2008 Siege of Tompson Mall

Following the fall of Tompson Mall on 11 Jan 2006, the Zombie Horde dispersed to attack buildings in Western and Central Lockettside in smaller hordes. This allowed Survivors to retake Tompson Mall on 14 Jan 2006, and the small number of Survivors within held out a small horde of feral Zombies.

For the next 10 days, attacks by feral zombies came and went, with occasional breaches which were thrown back by the Survivors. By 24 Jan, the Mall is sufficiently secured that the siege can be considered lifted.

Recognized Revive Points

The three official recognized Lockettside revive points are: Rackman Row (28, 82) (Black Mesa Revive) as well as Kendall Row (26, 84)(NT revive) and Butler Avenue (20, 83) (Tompson Mall Security). Zombies are not to be shot standing on these locations. Also, any cemetery can be deemed a temporary revive point under the Sacred Ground policy. If you want to create additional Revive points please post them here; otherwise, no other revive points will remain valid, including TinyURL sprays.

An Unofficial Revive Point is Lumb Street (27, 85), 1 south of the Pursey Building (NT) (27, 84)

The RESCUE! tactic has been abandoned in Lockettside due to the changes affecting ruined buildings, free running and twisting your ankle when falling off a masonry wall the zombies have brought down. The construction skill and tool kits don't actually mention bags of mortar and trowel and bucket but that's what it implies (or at least a nearby Wickes). Anyhow, Rescue is off the cards, nice try by the D.E.M. though, you weren't to know about future changes.

Four Corners

The Southwest corner of Lockettside is included in the Four Corners.
