Fighting the zombie menace can be an especially harrowing experience...lots of organs, limbs, and literal buckets of blood; for three, nay, four years now, the Malton's Angels have provided a service that restores a bit of sanity to the ailing city, and created an island of reason in the midst of a sea of Chaos. The Angell building archives is an attempt to preserve a little bit of mankind's former glory...that fabulous invention known as the DVD.

John Carpenter's "The Thing", Survivor Mira Hart's favorite film.

History

Sam Cork, a member of the Malton's Angels, and one of the intrepid first occupants of the Angell Building, gained a some notoriety in the early months of the outbreak by carrying a portable DVD player with him when venturing forth on medical runs into the blasted heart of the city. Though the screen was small, and the paltry few DVD's he carried with him were scratched and worn, it was the belief of many that the comforting monochrome glow of a Marx Brother's film or the sublime melodies of the soundtrack of "The Mission" did wonders for those psychologically scarred by the Zombie Uprising. As the population of the Angell building swelled with refugees, the Angels had a fortuitous encounter with wandering electronics expert TechnoTim, who jerry-rigged a powerful projection mechanism for the player before moving on to parts unknown (the second story bathroom above the food court at Michem Mall). No more would our heroes be plagued by the travel-sized screen squinching down epic cinematic wonders like "Lawrence of Arabia". A large white bedsheet was stretched between the walls of one of the Angell Building's large stone storage rooms, and one of Malton's most popular theaters was born. As the years wore on, travelers and guests made a habit of donating plundered DVD's to the ever growing collection, and several scavenging runs were made to the Sam Goody of nearby Blesly Mall to expand the archive. This, and the discovery of almost every season of "Saturday Night Live", stored within a vast digital media library on the seventh floor of the distant Joyce Building has made the Angell Building Archives one of the most unique film libraries in the city of Malton, and may some day be the largest. It remains a vibrant source of entertainment for harrowed survivors looking for a return to sanity, and is constantly expanding as new discs are recovered from ruined buildings around the city.
