Background

The humble, publicly funded Malton Broadcasting Corporation had just recieved its first grant from the Council when the outbreak occurred. All of its planned services were rendered completely useless within a matter of two days. The small group of MBC workers, together at the time of the outbreak, have learned much in the time that has intervened. Now, driven slightly insane from many sleepless nights and a few bouts on the other side of death, they yearn to regain some of what they have lost - to this end rebanding as the Malton Broadcasting Corporation, and with the recently unblocked radiowaves at their disposal, setting out to fill said waves with quality public service transmissions. Detailing zombies. Dieing. Painfully.

Main Information

The MBC is a survivor group in case you hadn't worked it out yet. Our goals are those of most survivors; destroying all zombie presences, barricading and powering buildings, healing and reviving other noble humans. However, we have a rather more particular mission to provide public broadcasting full of chunky brain food (not the kind zombies eat, the kind that makes you think) and general awesomeness.

Wherever we are at any one time we will be keeping in tip-top condition. We also will be providing revive services.

Members

We are always happy to accept new members, currently we have on board the MBC team:

Members in black are controlled by the player above them.

Policies

PKers, Gkers, RKers

Mpd.png Report PKers!
Don't let them get away with murder! Register them on the Rogues Gallery.

We hate these people, and will report them, kill them, offer up their profile id's to anyone who wants them. We put alot of energy into making characters who commit player kills, generator kills or radio kills completely unusable.

Revives

Revive.gif Revivification Requests
Undead? Want to breathe again?
Make a Revivification Request!

We will endeavour to answer all revive requests possible. We are currently based in West Grayside, so make requests accordingly - we are not coming halfway across the city for one revive. Requests can be made on the forum, information we need includes GPS co-ordinates, profile ID and character name. We won't use your information maliciously and we ask nothing different from you than most revive services.

Radio Protocol

The MBC has a specific Radio Protocol to aid its listeners, and ensure genuine MBC broadcasts.

1) All MBC broadcasts state their nature before commencing, e.g "This is MBC News" or "MBC Military Comms Transmission" or "MBC Emergency Broadcast"

2) Non-MBC members or otherwise who broadcast on our channels will be targeted. Instant addition to our bounty list is the punishment for impersonating our broadcasts. We will find out, so don't try it.

The Exodus Is Over

The MBC has finally made it through the infested heart of our city through to the peaceful lands of the South East. Journeying to the Vinetown/Osmondville/Gulsonside area, the MBC has set up its first Broadcasting Centre in The Shortis Building (80,69) Vinetown. This will be the first of many to grace the city, as the MBC strengthens its position and works its way back to the centre. Now we have aquired a stable position with transmitting equipment, citizens of Malton can expect to start to enjoy some our public services. However, we will not be at full capacity until more of our members make it through.

MBC Formed

File:NUA logo.JPG
NUA no more

After a short attempt at a military force rife with problems and general unnecessary brain eating, the New Urban Army has chosen to disband and most of its members move to the newly formed MBC. The NUA operated in the West Becktown area, but is one of the many small groups that have either folded or evacuated under the pressure of the new zombie threat that is rising in the South West. The NUA held HQ in Mears Auto Repair, and helped clean out the area of zombies successfully for a number of months. It had recently expanded and moved into Chudleyton to take a second base when the zombie hostility suddenly spiked.

The NUA's second base, Willshire Towers, stood for less than a week before it was smashed apart by the undead. The NUA scattered to return en masse to main HQ, only to be slaughtered. After a number of attempts to regain the base, two things became clear. One - the zombie levels had risen too far for a small force like the NUA to combat them alone. Two - the NUA had become a stigma that enraged zombies upon sighting them.

The NUA disbanded and relocated, although some of its members left to continue on the good fight with the massive force in Caiger Mall. It should be pointed out that although MBC is made up of mainly ex-NUA, it's goals are different. The MBC still kills zombies though, and hopes to do so lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots....

Danger Levels Rising

Checking the Suburb Map and also being a citizen of Malton in pretty much any part of the world now, it is evident that our fair city's already extravagant danger levels are rising by the day. Citizens citywide are advised to move to the nearest mall, or exit their suburb entirely if it lies in the South West/East or Center.

Public Services

know what you are talking about Short-wave Radio Info
This group or location has a dedicated radio frequency.

Frequency: 27.74 MHz
Transmitter Coordinates: Osmondville

Our magnificent, award winning and FREE public services are below. We have many broadcasting houses that vary with time. We cannot publish exact whereabouts because of this and in addition as a cause of the possible security risk. Our broadcasts run for as long as they can, but residents must understand that zombies do mess things up from time to time. To this end we will not always be able to provide regular programming, but listeners can be assured that MBC broadcasts will be broadcast at least once every week, whether we have to use our own equipment or hide out in malls.

MBC News - On 27.74 and 28.56

Our main broadcasts, if you want to get a reliable update on what is going on from throughout Malton then tune in. Our reports come from all over the city, where we make our havens of safety from the harsh streets, so there will be something relevant to all of you. In depth analysis of current events is available on 27.74, whereas short bulletins are the only things broadcast on 28.56.

VTBAN - On 27.41

The Vincent Tokay Baboneau Arms Network comes live from our top talkshow host and broadcaster - Vincent Tokay. The show is broadcast from the Baboneau Arms, Peddlesden Village, whenever Mr Tokay gets the chance between reviving good citizens of Malton and smashing zombie skulls.

MBC Military Comms - On 27.74 and 28.56

Well folks we don't spend all our time broadcasting, in fact we spend more of the time killing zombies. MBC Military Comms broadcasts contain the vital information we need to coordinate ourselves when kicking butt. That's not to say that spies will glean anything useful from them! Cryptic at best, these broadcasts are comprehensible to MBC members only.

MBC Open - On 28.56

The MBC open channel allows communication with the less experienced members of the game. People seeking to join the MBC should broadcast on this channel, instead of cutting through our main broadcasts.

MBC Emergency Broadcasts - On 27.74 and all major wavelengths

Our Emergency Broadcasts are only made in times of massive crises such as Mall sieges or massive horde movement.
