Richmond Hills is a suburb of Malton, located to the north-west of the city centre. An important manufacturing center in post-war Malton, the blue-collar suburb began a slow and steady decline in the 1970's. With many businesses leaving the suburb, workers followed and the overall local population dropped significantly.

With a predominance of factories, warehouses, offices and junkyards, Richmond Hills is naturally referred to by many as an "industrial wasteland". Empty city blocks, vacant lots and long open stretches of motorway make travel difficult and unsafe for local survivors, and help to lend an air of abandonment to the area.

In an attempt to repeat the success of Bungay Towers in the early 80's, a pre-outbreak urban development project was in the works to reclaim South Eastern portions of the suburb near the public transportation hubs at Bayley Row Railway Station and Cardwell Plaza Railway Station as apartments and low-income housing. Naturally these plans were abruptly halted in the wake of the quarantine.

While the suburb does not have much to offer in terms of overall resources, it does have a small selection of interesting pubs, clubs and museums, as well as a high concentration of cinemas. In particular, film enthusiasts passing through the suburb are encouraged to visit the once grand edifice of The Richmond Hills Humongoplex in the Eastern Central portion of the suburb.

The top northwestern section of Richmond Hills has been relatively calm for the past few days. The Necrotech Lab is functional and there are scattered patches of individual zombies.--JustinMullins 16:45, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

At least 9 zombies on the streets. Breakdown of the Tactical Resource Points:

  • 2 NecroTechs: 1 powered, 1 not.
  • 1 Police dept: powered.
  • 2 hospitals: powered.
  • 3 factories: not powered.

With no ruined TRPs and only a few scattered zombies, this seems Safe. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 19:42, 28 September 2008 (BST)

Richmond Hills has both a low zombie population and survivor population however the suburb is currently being rebuilt. 1 cinema in particular took me 53 AP to repair and I also found a bank ruined and EHB. Interesting and effective tactic there on the zed's part. It forced me to kill myself so I could claw its cades down. The Laimbeer NT has 5 zombies in it and is still ruined. Survivors ought to coordinate there to get the suburb going again.--Doctor Oberman MBEK 05:40, 13 September 2008 (BST)
