Description

Roles Way Railway Station is a train station located in the suburb of Rolt Heights.

You try the main entrance, but the impressive set of double doors seem to have been barricaded heavily from the inside. A piece of cardboard stapled to a nearby ticket machine informs you to go to try the blue door to the right. You open the door and close it behind you. You are standing on one of the platforms and can hear a mechanical whirring from the Station Masters office, there is a bubbling from the left luggage office and several footsteps from the shadows opposite. In the stations are two passenger carriages emblazoned with the MaltonRail logo. The windows have been smashed and what looks like blood adorns the interior. You shudder and walk slowly towards the office...tightly gripping your primary weapon.

History

The architect and namesake of the building, Roland Marks, nicknamed "Role" because his employees thought he resembled Roald Dahl and couldn't spell his name properly. His architecture, although marred by the current crisis, is unmatched by any other station in Malton. What makes this station unique is that it has a central atrium, from which any platform can be accessed, rather than having to go into an underground walkway under the train lines.

Some also say that he built in a hidden message into the platforms themselves, but this speculation was dismissed by Malton Rail, the benefactors of the project.

After some months of successful business, a firm approached MaltonRail, asking for permission to use the blueprints of the building, so that they could monopolize on the innovative design. They refused, and sent all copies of the blueprints they had to Ronald, the original architect. The firm then contacted the architect, becoming progressively aggressive. By the end of the month, Ronald couldn't chance leaving his apartment for fear of being accosted or his apartment being broken into. Ironically, the firms eagerness to obtain the blueprints was their downfall. A letterbomb set alight to his apartment, burning through half the block, destroying the blueprints and their creator.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually supported Rolt Heights Barricade Plan set forth in agreement with local survivor groups. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for Malton's veteran survivors.

This empty railroad station was once a part of the city's now extinct Malton Rail system.

It should be noted that as no specific survivor group monitors nor maintains the barricades associated with this barricade plan, so therefore it is not considered to be enforced. As such, survivors should always expect to find the barricades set at varying levels depending on the survivors inside the building. For the most part though, survivors should always expect to find this building over-barricaded rather than under-barricaded simply due to survivor nature.

Current Events

November 1st, 2007 - The building is Very Strongly barricaded and should be re-fortified to follow the Plan.   --cuio (talk) (NW) 18:36, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
