Roywood is a suburb of Malton, located in the far northwest of the city.

Formerly a quiet yet thriving village centered around Gerard Place PD, Roywood has for some time fallen into disrepair, a forgotten suburb tucked away near the corner of the city, usually ignored and overlooked by the larger Survivor groups and regularly patrolled by Extinction Zombies.

Background

Before the outbreak Roywood was a civil benchmark for the rest of Malton, crime was virtually unknown (despite only a single active police station), its many educational facilities were the envy of the city and its robust, intellectual community was famously open minded and fervent in their discussion of social, economic and political issues. As a result Necrotech found this suburb to be an ideal location for many of its research facilities.

Thanks to its close proximity to the border of Malton, as news of the outbreak spread many of the citizens were able to flee Malton all together before the quarantine came into effect. As a result, in the weeks and months immediately following the implementation of the quarantine the suburb was mostly devoid of survivors and thus of zombies. It was only after the population naturally relocated around Malton, and the demand for Necrotech syringes increased, that the action in Roywood began to heat up.

Since Extinction's defeat of Beerhah at Purt NT the town's defenses have collapsed with local defenders retreating to the still barricaded safehouses around ruined Gerard PD as well as the Gilesi NT. Most of the rest of Roywood has fallen into ruin and the town is now under emergency quarantine. --Zeug 16:57, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

November 9th

As the very last of the stalwart defenders of Pask dragged kicking and screaming into the streets of Roywood, a great graaaaagh of triumph was heard emanating from the victorious Extinction Zombies, who had borne the harsh sting of the Beerhah's needles for far too long. With Purt now occupied by a group of 18 zombies, any remaining survivors would do well to make preparations for a final stand or vacate the suburb entirely. -- Naelok 19:24, 9 November 2008

November 5th

The members of 404: Barhah not found that were helping to hold Pask NT in Dakerstown have fallen back to Purt NT to regroup, pursued by Extinction all the way. While most buildings remain ruined, a block of 4--Purt NT, St. Linus Hospital, and the Cosway and Meaden Banks are all barricaded and lit. Extinction zeds were gathered outside eagerly slamming on the barricades. It'll be interesting to see how the highly coordinated but greatly outnumbered members of 404 hold out against Extinction.--Leslie Stone 8:31, 27 October 2008 (EST)

Roywood is seeing much more survivor activity with most of the resource buildings up and running including the NT building. There are some zombies that wish for revival, including me!--Seargent Block 1:31, 5 November 2008 (EST)

The area directly surrounding the lone PD is bouncing back and forth between survivors and zombies, but other then that all's quiet.--G-Man 02:12, 24 October 2008 (BST)

October 6th

The northern half of the suburb is fully barricaded baring one NT and 2 dark buildings, several TRP's are powered across the suburb. There is some zombie presence however the survivor presence is far more significant in both number and effect on the situation of the suburb, moderate.--xoxo 04:46, 6 October 2008 (BST)

Thanks mainly to the coordinated efforts of the Deck of 52, Red Cresent Research Facility and Zombie Assault Force many of the non-resource buildings are now fixed with the exception of a few cinemas, banks and resource buildings which has helped returned the suburb from its ghost town status to a more favorable one for survivors for now. The biggest number of Zeds I've seen together is 5 inside the Purt Building. The Gerrald PD is hotly contested for between Zeds and survivors. I cant give and exact number of Zeds in the suburb but I have counted about 15 in the south. --Feon Kensai 14:28, 6 October 2008 (BST)
After nearly two years of being in zombie hands, this suburb is finally falling into human hands. This marks the end of the north western saga and the eradication of the last markings left behind by the former legacy that was Caiger mall. The man 02:43, 7 October 2008 (BST)

October 2nd

At least 23 zombies on the streets, with the largest gathering being 5. 9 of the 12 Tactical Resource Points are ruined, and the remaining 3 (2 factories and the single auto repair) have no power. Much of the remaining suburb lies in ruins, with only a couple of buildings lit, signifying a low survivor presence. Ghost Town, given no further evidence. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 17:15, 2 October 2008 (BST)

At least 16 zombies outdoors. All of the Tactical Resource Points are ruined (as are most of the remaining buildings). --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 16:12, 23 September 2008 (BST)

Still desolate. Seems to be a few standing buildings but the place is entirly in zombie hands with no repaired resource buildings in sight.--G-Man 23:49, 17 September 2008 (BST)
