Shearbank is a suburb in the north-central area of Malton. It contains Stickling Mall and the east half of St Luke's Cathedral.

Before the outbreak, Shearbank- though not possessing much in the way of attractions itself- acted as a sort of hub to tourist attractions in the surrounding areas, resulting in the construction of no less than six hotels, four police departments, and Stickling Mall- the last of the malls to be completed before the outbreak, in early March 2005. But a year before the renovation, it was up in the ranks with Randallbank, Roachtown, and Huntley Heights as being one of the poorest suburbs in Malton. Drugs, robberies, and assaults were numerous in this suburb. Luckily, this suburb was renovated and became one of the best in the city.

With quick access to hospitals, police stations, and active revive points, the area around Stickling Mall is currently recommended as a great place to gain experience points for those new to Malton.

Shearbank has an extensive and colorful past history. If you are new to the area, please take a look at the Shearbank Barricade Plan.

There are 5 TRP's currently up in Shearbank, 2 of those have power and another 2 are about to fall. Some survivor activity, especially in east and south portions. Around 25 zombies at Allder Row while Peppe Street (in Huntley Heights)is empty. --MisterGame 17:03, 27 September 2008 (BST)

Stickling mall is still the focal point for a (somewhat lopsided) see-sawing battle between survivors and zeds. 75% of the Mall is again in ruins, closest resource buildings lacking manpower and weakly caded. Much of the burb's south is a wreck, some stability to the NE of the suburb. Total size of Zeds standing in and around a 1 block radius of Stickling mall ~125 at the time of this report. This place is going to be ugly and dangerous to survivors for a while. 28 Zeds standing at Allder revive point with multiple revive missions witnessed.--The Envoy 05:54, 24 September 2008 (BST)

Survivors aren't completely dead yet, and have recaptured Stickling Mall and Whippey NT which are both powered. 16 zeds attacking NE Corner of Stickling. Allder row contains 25 zombies. --MisterGame 16:08, 23 September 2008 (BST)

September 21st

At least 120 zombies in the 'burb (115 counted outside, with 5 in the mall, which is totally ruined). Of the remaining 16 Tactical Resource Points, 13 are ruined. In the east, a single powered NT and two powered factories remain. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 20:15, 21 September 2008 (BST)

This suburb has been under heavy assault by the Ridleybank Resistance Front's March of the New Flesh tour for five days, resulting in widespread death and carnage. The TRPs of the suburb are either ruined or on the brink of it, with a heavy zombie holding presence. Danger status updated to 'Very Dangerous'. --Papa Moloch 18:18, 21 September 2008 (BST)

September 20th

The center and southern parts of Shearbank are mostly ruined. Alot of small to medium sized zombie groups are spread out across the buildings. The east still holds some light and the only remaining functional Necrotech building, Gabe NT which supports the active and currently empty RP, Peppe Street (See UCC page for more advice (located under Current Events) --MisterGame 23:31, 20 September 2008 (BST)

A quick survey of the suburb revealed approximately 119 standing zombies (18 inside the mall, which has 3 ruined corners). Of the remaining 16 Tactical Resource Points in the suburb, only 6 are ruined. Two are without power, and the remaining 8 are powered. The suburb maintains a powered and operational hospital, NecroTech, Auto Repair, 2 Police Departments and 3 Factories. I have, therefore, changed the suburb danger level from Very Dangerous (150+ zombies, most buildings gone) to Dangerous (50+ zombies, many TRPs gone), in line with the given descriptions. (Note, this is a step up from yesterday's level of Moderate.) --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 17:41, 20 September 2008 (BST)

September 19th

As Stickling Mall fell to the undead horde, a few hardy survivors took back the Whippey Building for a time. However, it was to be a short reprieve and now both mall and NT stand ruined. The surrounding buildings are just now being breached by the restless dead. Further east, the rest of the suburb is still in good shape with many powered buildings. For how long this lasts is quite another matter. --Guilty 20:20, 19 September 2008 (BST)

September 18th

The Whippey Building is in ruins, as is one corner of Stickling Mall, with the remaining four corners without power. Standing zombies (inside and outside the mall and immediate surroundings) number around twenty in total. They are (numerically) out numbered by survivors. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 15:42, 18 September 2008 (BST)

September 17th

The Whippey Building was breached by zombies today. Though the Necrotech facility was eventually cleared by stalwart survivors, this undead strike into the Stickling Mall region may signal the opening move of a larger invasion. NT scans reveal few zombies outside of the local revive location but the numbers are slowly increasing. --Guilty 03:06, 18 September 2008 (BST)

Update: The RRF and their various sub-units have launched blitzkriegs that have seen the Whippey NT ruined and Stickling Mall's security compromised. The survivors may yet have enough moxy to pull off a recapture, but it will be a rough fight.--Guilty 04:51, 18 September 2008 (BST)

September 16th

Shearbank experienced a spike in PK occurrences during the last week and survivor reports seem to single out the RRF Gore Corps. Whether this is a prelude to a larger invasion by their undead brethren or merely isolated attacks, remains to be seen. The suburb is in decent shape otherwise, with Stickling Mall and the buildings in its immediate vicinity a bastion of supplies and safety (aside from the Pking). Minor but persistent zombie activity has led to a few break-ins, usually quickly suppressed. However, this could be an indication of trouble to come. --Guilty 15:10, 16 September 2008 (BST)

Stickling Mall lies strongly in survivor hands. Apart from the occasional Umbrella Soldier, allot of life was brought to Shearbank by the Fortress and the DHPD. Thanks to them, Shearbank is looking more like the survivor stronghold it usually is. There are few zeds left, and most buildings are lighten.Revive points are mostly cleared.--MisterGame 23:29, 9 August 2008 (BST)

Past Regimes of Shearbank

The Democratic Armed Republic of Independent Suburbs (DARIS) claimed to control the suburb for a period that began September 8th, 2005 and ended September 21st, 2005 (13 days). DARIS attempted to kill any non-member who entered the suburb, human or zombie during this period. The Shearbank Liberation Army formed in opposition to this and stated that it aimed to defeat DARIS and end the group's self-proclaimed control of Shearbank. Other non-affiliated residents – human, as well as zombie – began entering the suburb, causing the suburb to become even more of a war zone than the rest of the city and, arguably, the focal point of Maltonian politics. Ultimately, the rule of DARIS in Shearbank came to a close, and without a strong infrastructure, Shearbank was disorganised, and remained so for quite some time.
