History

Smith Towers is one of the remaining structure that survived the horrific bombing during World War II that lay Millen Hills in ruins. After the war, minor repairs and refitting were done to strengthen the structure.

Before the outbreak Smith Towers, which had 28 floors, was one of the few office leasing buildings in Millen Hills. It housed several accounting and law firms and other minor businesses. On the 17th floor of the building, a helipad was installed. The owner of the building hoped that by doing so would attract larger companies to lease in the building.

When the outbreak hit in 2005, office workers managed to evacuate the building before the infected reached the area. Some of the workers were evacuated via helicopters sent by the military during the first few hours of the evacuation. Until now you could see the remnants of the chaos that ensued in the building during the evacuation. Paperwork can be seen lying around the floors of the former accounting and law firms' offices located in the 18th, 19th and 20th floor of the building.

In the last few months of 2014, a news and service organization was formed in Smith Towers that was named DWRX 28.54. They used the 3rd floor of the building as their main office. The group operates in the building until now.

During the zerg attacks occurring from February of 2015 until August of the same year, DWRX along with its affiliate in the area, 27.18, defended the building along with other resource buildings in the area.

During the siege, The Smith Towers was breached numerous times but the group managed to defend it and reestablish the barricade. But in June of 2015, Smith Towers finally fell to the hands of the zombies, along with the neighboring buildings. It stayed under the control of the zombies for a couple of weeks before DWRX managed to reclaim it with the help of several other survivors.
