Description

Red tapestries rappel from the finely chiseled mortices in the well preserved ceiling timbers. The altar is dressed in a torn and blood soaked cloth and littered with holy sacraments. The solemn song from the pipes clashes horribly with the ruckus from St. Irenaeus's Church (Raines Hills) next door.

The church was given independent status in the year of our Lord, 1558, when Athanasius led his snooty band in a split from what was once the Idolator's wing of St. Irenaeus's Church (Raines Hills). So strong was his dislike of the Radical Minimalist Eastern Wing of the same church, that he felt compelled to sever the weak tie of association: East to West. This was of course not his true reason for rebellion, but the Idolators to the South, who were most glad to see the back of him, thought twice of questioning his motives.

When his stunt didn't garner him the reverence he desired, his feelings towards his older brother Anastasius, who was better than him at absolutely everything, grew blacker still. His brother had given up a medical career to preside over a church -- now referred to as St. Anastasius's Church (Raines Hills) -- in a village to the north, where he was immensely popular with the locals. Before he passed on, villagers were writing songs about him every other week and people were looked down upon if they didn't name their first born after him. Robin went as far as to change his last name from Maradictus to Molhonus to mask the discrepancy between their accomplishments. He needn't have bothered as the ranking in the history books separated Anastasius' wondrous deeds from Athanasius's rebellion with a few thousand Saintly names. --Father Bigley 21:03, 9 October 2007 (BST)
