Basic Info:

  • Excellent place to find first aid kits. Zombies frequently check inside.
  • Portable Generators have a use other than powering the lights and increasing search probability in hospitals. Players with the Surgery Skill can heal for 15 HP if the Hospital has a fueled up Generator.
  • Hospitals can be barricaded normally.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in Hospitals:
    • "...its wards and corridors blackened with the soot of a recent fire"
    • "...its empty wards criss-crossed with snapped quarantine tape."
    • "...one of the city's psychiatric hospitals."
    • "...dark corridors leading through abandoned wards."
    • "...its emergency room in disarray."
    • "...its lobby covered with quarantine posters."
    • "...a children's hospital with bright murals across the walls. "
    • "The main lobby is riddled with bullet holes."
    • "It was one of the last to be evacuated, and seems to have been cleared out in a hurry."
    • "...a derelict hospital that was closed down years ago."

St. John's Hospital

Stjohnshospital.jpg

St. John's Hospital is a Tactical Resource Point, used for helping wounded survivors recover and recoup from attacks by zombies or PKers. St. John's Hospital is currently being regulated by St. John's EMTs.

Its GPS coordinates are 21, 86.

Barricading Policy

Able-bodied survivors are advised to keep the barricades of St. John's Hospital at Very Strong +2 -- high enough to keep zombies out, yet loose enough to allow all survivors access regardless of whether they possess the Free Running ability. As it is a necessary resource point, it is not a wise move to cut survivors off from important medical aid.

NOTICE: As of 05:49, 4 February 2007 (UTC) the barricading procedures on St. John's should be at Extremely Heavily Barricaded until the current zombie threat subsides. -Aurorasprite15

Generators

With Tompson Mall so close by, this building becomes especially useful during and after mall seiges. A fueled generator allows qualified surgeons to provide the best medical care (15 point heals) here.

History

During the late 14th century a group of people spontaneously combusted, until the 19th century, people continued to combust here. In order to treat the victims of these strange occurrences, St. John's Hospital was formed with the foremost experts in burns. (see: spontaneous combustion disease)
