St.Matthew's February 2005

History

St. Matthew's is named after and follows the gospel of the evangelical saint Matthew, one of Jesus' twelve apostles and traditionally believed to be the author of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament. His symbols are the tax collector and the alms box. Matthew himself was originally a tax collector, and as such is the patron saint of accountants, taxmen, and the city of Salerno.

Although it is commonly said that there are five cathedrals in Malton, this is something of an oversimplification. A cathedral is technically the seat of a bishop and as such there are only two true cathedrals in Malton: one of them, St. Matthew’s in Gibsonton, serves the Anglican communion while another serves the Catholic communion.

News

In Fall, 2005, it contained the main bulk of the Redemptionists movement inside or in the surrounding suburb, though if they've moved on since then is unknown.

January, 2006 - Many zombies in this area, PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION

February, 2006 - The Redemptionists and 14th Black Crusade are at war. Be careful within the area marked by the map, as it has been desinated "Imperial Holy Grounds". All unidentified Zombies and Identified 14th Black Crusade members will be shot. Those who survive being shot will be shot again.

May 26, 2006 - As of today, the Cathedral is extremely heavily barricaded, and seems safe enough, with a small handfull of survivors camping out inside.

June 11, 2006 - While the cathedral remains firmly within the grip of the Imperium, recently an individual or group calling themselves 'Ronin' have taken to marking the interior with graffiti. High-ranking members within the Imperium have put forth a decree that Ronin is to be formally warned if caught marking the cathedral, after which, more drastic actions may be taken.

January 31, 2007 - I speak for the U.S. ARMY INFANTRY. I would like to state for the record that the survivor Iconn is a deserter and an imposter. He is no longer affiliated with the U.S. ARMY INFANTRY, despite the fact he kept the tag (which should be spelled all in uppercase). Anyone who has any information of his whereabouts, please contact me on my talk page. --Stickman 19:30, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Barricading

  • Major holy site for the Imperium of Man and is the headquarters of the Imperium, now the seat of the Cardinal of Malton, head of the Ecclesiarchy. The Imperium follows the The Gibsonton Defense Diagram, however, new game mechanics for moving in large buildings mean that, for security's sake, all four quadrants of the Cathedral are Extremely Heavily Barricaded whenever possible. Those with Free Running have several access points through neighbouring buildings.
