Stephens Cinema

Description

A small, ageing, single-screen cinema (remember those?). The facade has long since been vandalized, and the windows have all been boarded up.

Barricade Policy

As cinemas are dark and harder to reclaim from zombie occupation, barricades should be maintained at EHB.

History

Even in its heyday, Stephens Cinema was never intended to be a premier venue. At the time of its construction, a number of hastily constructed cinemas were also going up in Foulkes Village, to capitalize on a boom among movie-goers. However, as the cinema aged it lost its marketplace niche, as it had neither the ambiance to become a viable independent cinema, nor the size and amenities to compete with the larger "multi-plex" institutions.

The cinema had already closed its doors and boarded the windows before the quarantine of the city. Interestingly, survivors seeking solace in the boarded up building found a few odd reels in a janitor's closet. On strange nights the weary-worn traveler may be found reminiscing on better days, perhaps watching an old zombie movie...
