Suggestion description
In Malton, there are museums in every suburb. At the moment, the only useful things that can be found in these are decorations. This suggestion would change that to include weapons that would reasonably found in such buildings. Specifically, I am suggesting the inclusion of both flintlock pistols and ball muskets. Since these are old weapons and prone to wear, there will be an inherent danger in using these weapons; a 5% chance of a backfire causing crippling damage (at least 15HP) seems appropriate. On to the specifics:

Flintlock Pistols: Found in: Museums Search Rate: 2%/5% Ammo: ball-shot, weapon holds one ammo piece searches at 3%/6%(In reality, small pieces of metal could be melted down and used as this shot, but I feel that implementing this is a little ridiculous); also requires a bag of black powder (found in mall hardware stores at 10%/15% and in factories at a similar rate).

Pistol shot starts at 5% accuracy, and with Historical Reenactment this accuracy is increased to 15%. It deals 6 damage.

Musket: Found in: Museums Search Rate: 1%/4% Ammo: ball-shot, weapon holds one ammo piece, searches at 2%/5%; also requires a bag of black powder, searches at 10%/15% at mall hardware stores and in factories.

Musket shot starts at 5% accuracy, and with Historical Reenactment this accuracy is increased to 15%. It deals 6 damage.

Historical Reenactment: Some of Malton's denizens were engaged in Historical societies and can therefore use the Antique Weapons items more efficiently. It adds 10% accuracy to any Antique weapon.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep Author vote. Blinkin the Gremlin RRF AU10 T RR GC 04:38, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep. These could be the baseball bats and crowbars of the firearms game. Kalir FTW! Z/S UD Potato Words 07:11, 20 June 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep Since, at last count, "humorous" and "unbrauchbar" aren't actual votes, I'm voting keep on this one, for that reason, and because it's a bit of RP that needs to be added. Nalikill 15:11, 22 June 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep Oh, we're so positive today. There are a whole tonne of hand-to-hand weapons, why not extend the range of projectiles? Actually, makes the ammo element complicated, but interesting. Could require new skills though! Level 523, anyone?--Crabappleslegalteam 03:31, 1 July 2007 (BST)
  5. keep It seems that it doesn't lower anything that isn't found in spades or mostly unused, and the backfire is good flavor. Padfu-Zomfu 05:34, 4 July 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill Sorry, just can't see this as working with the game. --Seventythree 07:45, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill This means there could be thousands of people in Malton with muskets within a few weeks. How many people in any actual city have access to working muskets? Maybe a few dozen? Certainly not more than that.--Jiangyingzi 03:11, 20 June 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Not needed, adds complexity for no benefit, doesn't make sense when multiplied by the number of people who could end up with one AND all the ammo required (as Jiangyingzi said), and there are no History Museum types, as pointed out by Duke Garland. armareum 02:19, 22 June 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill as Seventythree-- Vista  +1  19:49, 28 June 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Humorous I don't think I need to list all the reasons this is unworkable. --Magentaine 06:15, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  2. unbrauchbar Completely unneeded. Though it makes a little bit of sense, there is also a lot of things wrong with it. Using a Flintlock pistol isn't much different than using a 9mm, other than the loading and the ammunition. Trust me, I own 3 of 'em (technically, they're not mine until I'm 21, but eh, who cares?)-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 06:20, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - as Magentaine and Suicidalangel, plus: there are suburbs without museums, and there are no history museums type as for now. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 08:00, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  4. Humorous - Muskets? seriously dude, is this supposed to be a joke. --Sonofagun18 12:11, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  5. Spam - Malton is NOT located in the Wild Wild West (is it??), plus, muskets??!! ROFLMAO!!--Bruce Torbaron 01:05, 20 June 2007 (BST)
  6. Humorous -- Stop that, it's silly! -- Firemanrik 03:34, 20 June 2007 (BST)
  7. Humorous Humorous seems an appropriate vote. --Secruss 18:56, 22 June 2007 (BST)
  8. Humorous It's quite funny, move it to the Humor section. - EchelonThree 05:41, 1 July 2007 (BST)
  9. Humourous level one zombie : this game looks cool...its really realistic...WTF flintlock pistol? Is this 1746?--Wooty 21:03, 2 July 2007 (BST)
