20070727 New building type-Asylum

Sachaztan 16:37, 27 July 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
New building type

Suggestion scope
The map

Suggestion description
Theres a couple of special locations in Malton that gives the game a little atmosphere. We got the zoo, fort, brain museum, the different mansion and other interesting locations. What I would like to see is an Asylum. The kind of asylum I'm talking about is a high security mental institution as opposed to a psychiatric wing in an ordinary hospital.

Suggestions about the asylum:

-Maybe 2x2 in size *edit*

-1xp for tagging with tag skill.

-Slim chance of finding knife and length of pipe, book and FAK

-New clothing options-Doctors coat, Straight jacket, Patients coat (or whatever its called, English isn't my native language)

The details isn't important, just that people are kind enough to vote yes and it gets implanted into the game.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep I could have sworn that this was in peer reveiwed! Can't beleive that it's not. Just a tip, I would make sure that people realise that this is like, a maximum security mental hospital, as opposed to the fact that many of the hospitals we have ingame at the moment having psyciactric wings.--Seventythree 16:48, 27 July 2007 (BST)
    Edited --Sachaztan 17:29, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep - Should be located in New or Old Arkham :) --Midianian 17:02, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep - Make it smaller though. --The Hierophant 17:06, 27 July 2007 (BST)

  4. Keep - What can I say, its my suggestion --Sachaztan 17:21, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  5. Keep - Okay, that wasn't a major edit, so you're okay. And my keep. dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 17:37, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  6. Keep - Sure... new building. I'd still vote keep if it was a poop factory. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 18:06, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep - Put'em in the Arkhams. I love me some Batman. --Sonny Corleone RRF CoL DORIS CRF pr0n 18:14, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  8. Keep As above. Especially if it replaces a NT building. I hate NT buildings.--Wooty 19:18, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  9. Keep love it! can't wait to see what groups appear to protect/sack it.--'BPTmz 19:55, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  10. LOL I like :D Chill 19:57, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  11. Keep - CTHULU FTHAGN! --Vault 21:02, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  12. Keep - i don't care, but there's no reason to shoot it down --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 23:28, 27 July 2007 (BST)
  13. Keep - I like it, put it in old arkham for aesthetics, and I think patient coat = the crappy little paper gowns.
  14. Keep This would be another cool little fancy things humans would want to defend--Timo 1 00:15, 28 July 2007 (BST)
  15. Keep While I have my misgivings about adding buildings where none were before (especially large buildings), this is just too good to kill. It would have to be in one of the Arkhams, like has been said before. I beleive there should be a "worn-out straightjacket" of some kind for a new clothing option.--Fenian 00:25, 28 July 2007 (BST)
  16. Keep Can it have sharks with freakin' lazer beams attatched to their freakin' heads? It has to be colored grey. --Secruss 02:12, 28 July 2007 (BST)
  17. Keep Nothing really changing or unbalanced and adds some nice flavor and fun to the game.--Mayor FittingTalk RR 04:54, 28 July 2007 (BST)
  18. Keep - Nice. I like it a lot. A warning though Sachaztan, don't edit a suggestion after voting has started, even if people say to add or take things out. Leave that for the revision or talk page. Minor formatting is allowed. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:00, 28 July 2007 (BST)

  20. Keep - Must...have..it... --Perne 10:37, 28 July 2007 (BST)
  21. Weak Keep - As per Saluton's kill vote, this should be fully completed with percentages and all. However, I like it enough to vote keep - I'm sure Kevan would be able to come up with his own numbers --Ryiis 18:38, 28 July 2007 (BST)
  22. Weak Keep - For the same reasons Ryiis gives above.--Sara M 06:01, 30 July 2007 (BST)
  23. Keep - mheh -- Vista  +1  22:48, 30 July 2007 (BST)
  24. Keep - Doesn't hurt... It's mainly flavor... --JudeMaverick Talk +1 Jobs 05:13, 1 August 2007 (BST)
  25. Keep I like itthe one, the only, sushiknight (talk contribs HARD E.N.D.) 05:53, 1 August 2007
  26. Weak Keep Would be better if we couldn't find any useful items but it would make zeds harder to bring the cades down since it is supposedly an asylum because like Armareum said, it's just a renamed mansion --Packer 16:00, 1 August 2007 (BST)
  27. Keep - OK. --Heavy DDR 15:10, 2 August 2007 (BST)
  28. Keep - My god, think of the scientist based groups that would control these places.. could add to the story background regarding the outbreak and whatnot.. MrAushvitz Canadianflag-sm.jpg 16:04, 3 August 2007 (BST)
  29. Keep and move forward. i don't really understand how you're just going to throw an new building on the map though. Jack13 13:04 Aug 3, 2007
  30. Keep - Ah, the asylum. Only place where my ramblings on pink ducks are appreciated. --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 14:12, 4 August 2007 (BST)
  31. Those who are against terraforming *COUGHKarekCOUGH* take a good look at the forts. They weren't like that about a year ago. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 05:18, 7 August 2007 (BST)
  32. Keep - Yes goddammit. We need (more) insane zombies!--Vortexx 11:40, 8 August 2007 (BST)
  33. LOL, OMG! Awesome! I luv it! KEEP! --Evildemon989 Talk · Help · W! · P! · SU! · TJ! · Hai! 01:08, 9 August 2007 (BST)
  34. Keep Keep, it may not add much to gameplay, but when it comes to flavor, this is supreme! P.S. you should add fences, to make it more differnet. BoboTalkClown 03:41, 9 August 2007 (BST)
  35. 'Keep -- Yay, finally a place for me! --Your friendly neighbourhood psychopathc, Lord Evans 19:39, 10 August 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Finish it first. Needs percentages for finding items, and no "maybe" about the size of the building. And yes, details are important. I like to know what I'm voting for. --Saluton 16:52, 28 July 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - Sorry just not big on terraforming, don't like the concept.--Karekmaps?! 21:04, 28 July 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - What is the point? It's just a mansion by another name, with nothing new actually *in* the suggestion. I'm supposed to vote keep on "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if there was a building called an asylum?"? Apparently that's enough for some - not for me. 'arm. 06:00, 1 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill this is frivolous, mainly because there are many, many other building types missing in Malton that should be included before an asylum. a prison is one such thing, although i guess the forts could be considered converted prisons? =) or restaurants. or grocery stores, especially grocery stores. single family dwellings. hell, golf courses, where are the golf courses?? and many, many others. --WanYao 16:21, 1 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill The city already has asylums. Some hospitals have asylum flavortext. --Howard Bentley 04:56, 3 August 2007 (BST)
Read the description before you vote. --Sachaztan 15:29, 3 August 2007 (BST)
I did. It's redundant because there are already asylums, which was the primary reason for my vote. That's why I said what I did. There aren't any high-security asylums, but all the addition would be is just flavortext and no actual change to gameplay other than a slightly different building in one or two locations. Malton's buildings are OK the way they are. --Howard Bentley 19:58, 3 August 2007 (BST)
"The kind of asylum I'm talking about is a high security mental institution as opposed to a psychiatric wing in an ordinary hospital." --Sachaztan 21:18, 3 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Change - I really like the idea, but would like to see some development. For instance, would the asylum's secure design restrict free running and body dumping, as is the case with forts? --Pavluk 22:12, 10 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - Just don't like the idea. Also I do believe you are only allowed to RE once per vote but I'll leave that for someone else to fix as I'm not sure. Talk page would be better for discussion though. --Dipcup 01:51, 11 August 2007 (BST)
