20071125 Choose specific guns

Kolechovski 22:26, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Improvement. Suggestion scope
Guns. Suggestion description
Currently, when you go to reload, it automatically chooses which gun to reload. It's not uncommon for a gun with a few bullets left to be reloaded instead of the empty gun at the bottom of the stack. This is entirely unrealistic. In fact, you can even choose which specific gun to drop when you go to dump empty firearms, so you should be able to choose exactly which ones to use when attacking and reloading. So, I feeel all pistols/shotguns should be displayed independently in the attack and reload menus. Okay, there are no menus for reloading, so add them in in front of Shotgun Shells and Pistol Clips. This way, survivors aren't forced to act so stupid with their stuff. This just seems to be a common sense change.

Keep Votes

  1. Weak keep - notice to below voters: curent mechanics is reaload the first not full gun. I.e. if you have for example pistol(2), pistol(0), pistol(6), pistol clip and click on clip - the first one will be reloaded and 2 bullets lost. There's no such issue with shotguns --~~~~ [talk] 22:53, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Suggestion talk:20071125 Choose specific guns.--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 22:56, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Keep - Sounds good to me. We should have the freedom to choose which weapons are reloaded.--Dr Doom86 23:11, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep/Dupe - Look, you're right, it's a stupid game mechanic that should be fixed by [he who shalt not be named]. In fact, the naughty supreme being shouldn't have coded it like that in the first place - it's a bug by any other name. So, really this should be a bug report, not a suggestion. A similar idea (thus my Dupe in the wrong section) would fix the same problem, sort of, and is Redistribute Ammo in Peer Reviewed. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 23:35, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  4. Keep As funt. Magic dissapearing bullets are annoying in the extreme.--SeventythreeTalk 23:47, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. keep - Just a good idea--Corndoghero 00:04, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  6. Keep - i've never had this problem, but it must be frustarting, should be fixed Anti gorefest5 --anti gorefest5 01:15, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. keep - Sounds sensible The Mad Axeman 10:27, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Keep - The game DOES NOT reload the emptiest gun first. It reloads the first gun with <6 bullets in your inventory. Because of the way the inventory/searching/finding works, you CAN end up with full, partially loaded and completely empty pistols scattered throughout the inventory, and thus, reloading can lead to lost ammo. --Steakfish 00:51, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - When I reload, it always reloads the first empty gun, and then reloads the closest to empty gun. In other words, I think this is pretty much covered.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 22:30, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Kill Yeah, it reloads the emptiest. --Secruss 23:24, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. Kill- As above. --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 00:09, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  4. Kill - As above. This isn't that big of an issue....--Private Mark 02:03, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill - As above. --Waterspark2 08:27, 26 November 2007 (EST)
  6. Kill - Already done in game --Ryiis 14:50, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. Kill - Already loads the first empty gun on your list, then the next one, until all empty guns have ammo. Then it loads the emptiest ones first. Therefore, unneeded.--Actingupagain 16:32, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Kill - As Above - the game already accomplishes the desired effect. --Shazzelim 17:27, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
  9. Change -List the drop-down menus on the guns, not the ammo, so you don't have to search through your inventory for the stuff. In fact, simply making you reload by clicking on the guns rather than the ammo would solve half the problem. --AlexanderRM 22:47, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Dupe of ingame - It already does that.--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 22:30, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Spam/Dupe - I hate to vote this, but as above, it already does. There's no use for this unless you want to WASTE ammo. --Poopman9 01:00, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. Dupe of ingame - as the emptiest gun is always loaded first, and this suggestion covers emptying out guns with only a couple of bullets before starting on any fully loaded ones -- boxytalk • 01:01 26 November 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam - The game reloads the pistol that has the lowest number of bullets in it. I know this for a fact because I often reload pistols with 1 or 2 bullets left ahead of time, for maximum AP efficiency once I am in combat. Or use a clip because I need to free up encumbrance for something else. The suggestion is pointless, because why on earth would you want to reload a full (or almost full) pistol when you can reload an almost empty one??? The current mechanic works just fine, and it automagically maximises your ammo and is, like, idiot and newb proof in that way. Let it be. --WanYao 01:27, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. Spam - Complete and utter idiocy. The game allready does this! I don't know if you're somehow unaware of this, or if you're trying to add some additional useless modification to this. Please know the game before offering suggestions. --Psiborg 01:52, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  6. As Gnome. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 11:03, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. Dupe - of in game. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 12:11, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Dupe of ingame - Unfortunate, because this is a good suggestion. UCFSD 13:53, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  9. Dupe - see above --Pavluk A! E! 00:15, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
  10. Dupe - And reloads lowest.--Karekmaps?! 01:51, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
  11. Dupe The only thing that's needed is for the game to fire the most unloaded gun first. Oh, and you already reload the most unloaded first, and pick which to drop based on shots left- first one that has that amount of shots is dropped. ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 05:21, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
