Discussion (Water Mechanics Resubmission)

Falling in reduces the damage taken to 15 and 10 or the chance of taking damage to 25% and then 0%? --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 22:04, 3 September 2009 (BST)

Hold on, I'll clarify. --Brainguard 23:10, 3 September 2009 (BST)

There's no need to improve something that doesn't exists--Orange Talk 01:35, 4 September 2009 (BST)

One word: Borehamwood. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 01:57, 4 September 2009 (BST)
Deadset.PNG Borehamwood

Population: 11058
Current Population
0 standing survivors
1 standing zombies

So, your suggestion would benefit 210 players? WHOA. THAT'S SO HELPFUL DUDE. :D--Orange Talk 02:17, 4 September 2009 (BST)
I've actually designed an extension to Malton, User:Brainguard/OuterMalton, with lots of water. And also, a LOT of suggestions involve water. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 02:23, 4 September 2009 (BST)
A lot of NON-IMPLEMENTED suggestions--Orange Talk 02:27, 4 September 2009 (BST)
I redid part of the suggestion to create a river. Read the top of my suggestion. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 02:44, 4 September 2009 (BST)

Dupe of in game, Borheamwood's is better and more simple. Let's just leave it at that. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 03:06, 4 September 2009 (BST)

Well, the only thing I can think of is that Borehamwood is seperated from Malton by the river. This would allow characters to "cross over" making Borehamwood somewhat useful. Also having "water" in the title doesn't make it a dupe.--Pesatyel 05:24, 4 September 2009 (BST)
Possibly, but I'd kill the rest. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 05:25, 4 September 2009 (BST)
I just think he was needlessly over complicating it. All he really needs is the "swimming" skill I think.--Pesatyel 07:00, 4 September 2009 (BST)
I just like the idea of mobile safehouses. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 20:35, 4 September 2009 (BST)
I agree. The problem is that something like this is a significant change (hence why I suggested Borehamwood which has water and some water mechanics already rather than making up a new place) and needs to be done slowly. Start with swimming as a link between Malton and the new location (be it, in the end, Borehamwood or some new location), then move on to "boats".--Pesatyel 02:37, 5 September 2009 (BST)
Amen, brotha. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 23:50, 5 September 2009 (BST)
I think Borehamwood's is TOO DAMN EASY. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 20:35, 4 September 2009 (BST)
In what way?--Pesatyel 02:37, 5 September 2009 (BST)
You just freaking walk on water. I understand zonbies can float, but for the love of God, the average human can't walk on water. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 23:50, 5 September 2009 (BST)
Walk on water? WHERE does it say that? You DID read the Borehamwood water mechanics right?--Pesatyel 06:33, 8 September 2009 (BST)

How come zombies are better "swimmers" than the living?--Pesatyel 05:24, 4 September 2009 (BST)

They aren't, they just don't die after being submerged for a few hours :P -Devorac 07:22, 4 September 2009 (BST)
Under water = no breathing. Humans need to breathe. Zombies don't. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 20:35, 4 September 2009 (BST)
Depends on the "zombies." --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 22:58, 4 September 2009 (BST)
I was talking about the game mechanics. A survivor uses 3 AP to swim but a zombie with Lurching Gait uses 2 to "float" (which I have to equate to "moving through the water". Or swimming).--Pesatyel 02:37, 5 September 2009 (BST)

Too Complicated, and it solves no problem. Lelouch vi Britannia is helping make Ridleybank green_ and gives Achievements 22:59, 4 September 2009 (BST)

What "problem(s)" are ANY suggestions supposed to solve?--Pesatyel 06:27, 5 September 2009 (BST)
I think that this suggestion would create problems apt enough to warrant suggestions.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 10:03, 5 September 2009 (BST)
How does that answer my question? As I understand it, the point of making suggestions is to improve some aspect of the game, is it not?--Pesatyel 06:55, 8 September 2009 (BST)
It wasn't meant to. The fact is not not all suggestions that go through are trying to fix things. The majority are flavour nowadays. And the ones that aren't seem to be trying to fix the enormous game imbalance.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 07:11, 8 September 2009 (BST)

hmm... it looks nice... and sounds nice... but one problem: why the fuck would the military open up the docks full of water, the precious life source of humans (even salt water is sometimes in water recycling) to these drunk, extremely powerful, humans and zombies covered in their own feces? Get past that factor and I "guess" I like it --Gat 18:29, 5 September 2009 (BST)

They had to retreat quickly and just dam up the water because if they didn't, zombies would get into the countryside. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 23:47, 5 September 2009 (BST)

It has a few merits, but would probably work better if there was a new city. Malton should be left as it is for now. Nemesis645 21:18, 5 September 2009 (BST)

Yeah, I think there should be a port city to make. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 23:47, 5

September 2009 (BST)

It would be extremely cool if zombies could climb into a boat for a relatively high amount of AP, like 15 or so, and kill survivors from within the boat. Feeding drag off of a boat would be badass. --Bwii 00:23, 9 September 2009 (BST)

Spam - Too much in one suggestion, and also breaks the no item trading rule. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 01:08, 9 September 2009 (BST)

You can't see the items onboard; only the server knows. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 01:09, 9 September 2009 (BST)
It's still item trading. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 01:11, 9 September 2009 (BST)
How about no dropping new items? --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 01:18, 9 September 2009 (BST)
I'd still say it's too much in one suggestion. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 01:20, 9 September 2009 (BST)
How should I shorten it, just curious. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 01:33, 9 September 2009 (BST)
I just don't think Malton/Borehamwood needs boats and rivers and their associated skills and whatnot. Not only that, Borehamwood is very obviously a very different city opposed to Malton, and some stuff might even break if you tried to connect them. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 01:40, 9 September 2009 (BST)
Well, the Borehamwood part wasn't my idea, but do you agree with boating? --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 01:43, 9 September 2009 (BST)
No. Hence my vote. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 01:45, 9 September 2009 (BST)
Don't you think naval battles would be interesting? --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 01:47, 9 September 2009 (BST)
Not in Malton, most likely. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 01:48, 9 September 2009 (BST)

I request to have this suggestion removed. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 21:12, 9 September 2009 (BST)

It is done. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 21:38, 9 September 2009 (BST)
