View Damage Dealt

Timestamp: Jon Pyre 06:25, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Type: Improvement
Scope: Everyone
Description: Seeing every attack performed would cause a great deal of spam. However sometime it's important to see it so you can come to the aid of an ally. Therefore I suggest leaving this spam-free message that consolidates attacks that happened since your last turn into one message:

A zombie/SurvivorName attacked a zombie/SurvivorName X times for X total damage. (timestamp of most recent attack)

If the target is killed just change the message to this:

A zombie/SurvivorName killed zombie/SurvivorName with X attacks for X total damage. (timestamp of death)

This would prove useful to both zombie and survivor and allow you to intervene while someone is under attack instead of having to wait until afterward.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep Provides useful information and keeps the additional information on the same line so no spam is generated. -- Jon Pyre 06:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  2. Keep Morgan's bitching called me out for a Keep vote. Now I'm gonna challenge him to a handcuffed to a tricycle ball-gag in a cage match. MrAushvitz Canadianflag-sm.jpg 08:30, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep I can't miss a handcuffed to a tricycle ball-gag in a cage match. --Cap'n Silly 16:29, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
  4. Keep - The extra information in the event of deaths is not really relevant. But I like the first part enough not to let that bother me. - BzAli 13:35, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  5. keep per boxy's kill comments, which I view as a positive. Asheets 17:18, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  6. Keep - I'd be willing to bet that most players concentrate their attacks, and would therefore cause this suggestion to actually reduce spam by a great deal. Furthermore, real-time combat is rare, so I don't see how this weakens anyone, be they Survivor, PKer, or zombie. --Reaper with no name TJ! 19:50, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  7. Keep - I can't think of a single reason why you wouldn't be able to see attacks take place. Sure zombies are "anonymous" but they're not invisible. If a zombie attacks my buddy right in front of me, you better believe I'm attacking that zombie first. --Uncle Bill 22:32, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  8. Keep - I have never understood why zombies are anonymous, but I reeealy don't get how they are invisible. Go, ninja zombies! Attack!--Nosimplehiway 12:21, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  9. keep would have voted kill cos i want lots of changes but couldn't bear being in the same voter catagory as MORGAN with his "Do not dare mess with my invisible PKer" rant! I will post details of my desired changes on your page.--Honestmistake 18:04, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  10. Keep - This isnt a bad idea, and it wouldnt create that much spam. Besides, I really cant see how this would be detrimental to PKers, as Morgan claims so boldly... Alas, this will not get into Peer Reviewed, so I give it a pity vote. --GhostStalker 01:39, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - In my opinion, this would still cause too much spam. --Wikidead 06:53, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Re How would this cause spam? It keeps all the information on one line. Even if one player attacked several people one time each to generate multiple messages they could still generate far more spam instead by speaking five or six times. --Jon Pyre 08:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Re: Don't get me wrong: I like this idea. It's just that some zombies like to bite everyone in a room before feasting. --Wikidead 01:42, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  2. Still has the potential for spam, doesn't it? As a zombie, I like to spread attacks more often then go for the kills since most targets are too full health to kill right off. You might want to drop the "for x total damage" part too. I don't think that part is all the necessary as it wouldn't really differentiate damage all that much. If I see "for 43 points of damage" does that mean they were all axe blows? 4 shotguns and and axe? See what I mean?--Pesatyel 07:06, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  3. KILL!!!! - Why do you hate PKers so much? Is it because you were molested by a PKer, Or are you just too much of an utter retard to understand the RP value and fun in killing other players? Either way, this suggestion is worse than many Mr Aushvitz posted. --CaptainM 07:43, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Re This doesn't affect PKers any more than it does does zombies attacking survivors, or survivors attacking zombies. And it is logical that if you can see someone getting killed you can see them getting attacked. --Jon Pyre 08:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
It does too! If you were sitting in a building (in game) and you saw "PKER attacked NOOBCAKES for 5 damage" Then the same message again, its obviously a PKer. They're going to get Bounty hunted, and that gives PKers even less fun. Imagine if it was someone farming XP? You'd see "X attacked X for X damage" but no "X healed X for X damage" and you wouldn't know if it was a PKer or not. Also, think in real life, in one buidling, while your sleeping, you aren't going to be in the SAME room of this building as everyone else, it would be noisy. Your not going to be able to wake up and be know who attacked who while you were asleep. --CaptainM 05:12, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  4. Kill - This would mean that you can identify which zombie in a mob invading your safehouse is the most active one, singling them out for targeting first. Zombie annonimity has been dealt enough blows lately -- boxy T L ZS PA DA 08:47, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Re This would also let zombies tell which survivor were active and fighting back during a break-in and infect them. Also, the most recently active zombie is likely the one with the least AP and thus worth killing the least. --Jon Pyre 17:02, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Zombies can already tell which survivors are active, by looking at the bottom of the list. At the moment you can get the profile of a new zombie by DNA scanning them, or when they attack you. This suggestion means that survivors have access to the profile of every zombie that attacks anyone in their building, without doing a single thing, without spending any AP or HP to get it. No, zombies annonimity is one of their strong points, it needs protection -- boxy T L ZS PA DA 23:01, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  5. Read all kill and spam votes. --Slice 'N' Dicin' Axe Hack 13:16, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  6. Kill - Pesatyel has a good point about zombies infecting people and so causing a lot of spam. If you revise this, include a way to condense all those messages into one summary. --Toejam 16:31, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  7. Kill - This reformed suggestion has improved greatly over the last one, but it still has problems with anonymity, PKing, and possibly spam. I think if you limit the messages shown to only those that are on your contacts list, it would be much better. --Go to Zombie slay3r's Page 17:06, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  8. Kill - If it didn't show attacks by zombies, or the attacks shown did not link to their profiles, I'd consider it. Oh, and speaking of protecting zombie anominity- they should also not be linked to as VICTIMS of attacks. Rembemr, zombies are a horde; the fact that only a few attack at a given time is a game artifact, and should not be the basis of tactical info. Also, there should be an option to turn it off (for those who hate any spam whatsoevewr) and a cut off point at which there are so many attacks occuring, you can't track them all. AKA, "fog of battle", aka "prevent server bog down". --Swiers 00:21, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  9. Folow Swier's and zombie slayer's ideas, and I'll conider. The reason Zombie anyomity is needed is that taking it away makes zombies weaker. It becomes a zombie nerf. Also, zombies are in a horde. You can't pick single one zombie and then slaughter it...all Zombies look alike, that's all.--ShadowScope 20:04, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  10. Kill - Hmm, how about just keep this to your contact list? That will take care of any spam that would get through. Oh, and spam will get through. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:56, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - this would cause more. It's enough to know who was killed. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 08:33, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  2. Spam - This is ridiculous. No more spam in the game. --Aeneid 23:17, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Poison Needles

Timestamp: Asheets 21:47, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Type: new tool/weapon
Scope: Humans.
Description: This suggestion is for a new item, called the "research vial" or some other appropriate name. It can only be found or manufactured in powered Necrotech Building by humans with the NecroNet Access skill.

The backstory behind this is kind of muddled, but it should stand to reason that (1) before the outbreak that NT buildings were playing with virus that eventually caused the outbreak, and (2) that the NT buildings now still are playing with the virus in order to make revivifying syringes and, eventually, a cure.

If someone were able to get ahold of the virus, that person could inject people or xeds. The effect on a human would be to "infect" them (like an infectious bite) that would require a FAK to cure. The effect on a zed would be to give the zed infectious bite until such time that the character is cured with a FAK (yes, this could potentially give a zed, temporarily, a skill that it has not earned through XP).

The research vial can be manufactured in a powered Necrotech Building by humans with the NecroNet Access skill for the cost of 50AP. It can also be searched for in powered Necrotech Building by humans with the NecroNet Access skill, with a find rate of 0.1%

Keep Votes

  1. author keep I'm fully aware of the griefing possibilities for this, and I'm aware that anti-PK folks will vote kill. However, I have a character that does anti-PK work, but does not kill to claim a bounty -- that character instead tries to do as much as possible to inconvience the PKer (taking them down to 1AP if possible), and would really like to infect them also just to slow them down a bit more. Asheets 21:47, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - I don't like it. Survivors don't need to be given things to do that can only help zeds. Furthermore, this will make PKing an invisible crime (infect, attack down to 1 AP, leave). At least now, murderers are visible to others. And anything that requires a 50 AP production or a 0.1% search rate in a powered building with a skill is probably not a good idea. --IrradiatedCorpse 21:58, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Helping zeds is only 1 possible outcome. Nobody would be forcing someone to stick the thing into a zed. Plus, I never said (nor intended) that it would be an invisible crime. Asheets 23:02, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  2. Kill O hell no... Conndrakamod TDHPD CFT 22:08, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  3. Kill - Not evil enough! Come up with a couple more "flavors" of needles (infectious, tracking, tranquilizer, etc.) and make the non revive needles available only through manufacture. If you do that, I will not only vote keep, but I'll tell all my friends and fellow mad scientists. --Uncle Bill 22:24, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  4. Kill - Just how much bleach did you drink?--Labine50 MH|ME|P 23:01, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
:) I don't Jon Pyre will be able to outdo this comment. Asheets 23:05, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill - There are some zombie skills, such as spreading infection by biting, that humans should not possess.Waluigi Freak 99 23:09, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  6. Kill - LOL... Oh, this is good. I love this! LOL... giggle... giggle... ROFL... ROFLMAO... trying to talk, but I am laughing so hard I am crying... too much laughter... can't breathe... Oh, this is sooo funny! Hey, wait, this isn't the humorous suggestion section. You actually want to give humans infectious bite and let them give it to others? Nah, this has to be a joke. Right?--Nosimplehiway 00:20, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  7. Kill - what Nosimplehiway said. --Gateking 00:54, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  8. Kill - Or, I could manufacture a toxin that automatically kills someone. --Wikidead 01:41, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  9. Kill- Grief central.--Grigori 01:57, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  10. Kill So...it's an item that lets survivors aid zombies? That's kinda against the whole point. --Jon Pyre 02:24, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  11. Good idea.. Howsabout there's a 1% chance when a NT building is ransacked that the chemicals mix and all zombies inside and outside of that building temporarily can cause infection for let's say 48 hours. MrAushvitz Canadianflag-sm.jpg 03:16, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  12. Kill - Reasons stated above. - BzAli 15:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  13. Kill - Helps griefers (bad) and lets PKers get away with murder (also bad). What part of this suggestion makes the game better? --Reaper with no name TJ! 18:19, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - as IrradiatedCorpse. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 22:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  2. Spam --Joe O'Wood TALKCONTRIBSUD 22:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
An unjustified kill vote is fine IMHO, but not an unjustified spam vote. But I'll have to read up on the rules for striking votes, just to be sure. Asheets 23:02, 10 January 2007 (UTC) Funt Solo has informed me that there is enough precedent on unjustified votes that I should just leave this one alone. Asheets 23:16, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  3. Spam - Why would surivors want to help zombies at such a cost to themselves? --Go to Zombie slay3r's Page 22:15, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Helping zeds is only 1 possible outcome (though I've seen enough zed spying and other nonsense at Caiger to think helping zeds at almost any cost is fairly common). The griefing aspects are much more likely. Asheets 23:02, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Re: True, zombie spies could utilize this. Nonetheless, PKers would probably not use this item due to cost of creating/finding one of these vials. It would be much easier for a PKer to just use the 50AP needed to create the item to kill a survivor. --Go to Zombie slay3r's Page 23:42, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  4. Spam - According to kill reasons. --Aeneid 23:20, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  5. ROFLWOFLZ - This suggestion injects my waffles with roffle.--J Muller 23:22, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  6. Sapm - Nobody would bother using it. 50AP??!! Just to cause an infection? If you really want to do that, it would be faster (fewer AP at least) to get killed by a zombie (who has infection), get revived, come back inside, die, and then bite the victim. Plus, infection really is not all that big a deal. Useless = spam. --Swiers 00:26, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  7. Spam - I am pro playing as both sides, but I am strongly against a suggestion that is usable only by survivors and benefits only zombies. Disgusting grief potential, and not much else.--Burgan 01:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  8. Spam Based on your "back story" what dumbass would use this? And, as others pointed out, this would just help PKers who don't need it.--Pesatyel 05:28, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  9. LMAO - Gage 05:53, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  10. Is this suppose to be a serious suggestion? Looks Humorous to me. --Slice 'N' Dicin' Axe Hack 12:50, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  11. Techincally, it's not really invisible PKing. The reason is, if you are left with 1 HP, then you can be spared with a person throwing you FAKs and healing you. And there could be other ways of using it...zombie spies would seek to inject themselves with the poison to infect themselves, then free-run into a building to lose all their HP and then start killing suriviors. Still, it's fairly useless...We aren't supposed to encourge PKing.--ShadowScope 20:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  12. WTF SQUID AEROPLANE Send in more planes! --Cap'n Silly 15:16, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
  13. AWW HELL NAW!! - Giving humans zombie skills is stupid. --GhostStalker 01:54, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
  14. WHITE UNICORNS!!!!! - I bet they exist. I will prove you all wrong! --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:59, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
