With the new individual suggestions pages cycling suggestions consists of simply removing the voting rules template, and the category:current suggestions tag from the bottom of the page, and adding an appropriate archive template to the top of the page. All the templates listed below automatically send the suggestion to the correct category for archiving.

Removing suggestions before voting is complete

Dupe

If a suggestion is a duplicate of an earlier one, and has received at least 3 Dupe Votes linked to the Duplicated suggestion, then it can be removed as per the guidelines below.

  1. Confirm that there are absolutely no viable differences between the original and the duplicate.
  2. Place the dupe template on the page, with a variable linking to the previous suggestion.
    {{Dupe|link to old suggestion}}
  3. Remove all voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).
  4. If it's still on the Current Suggestions list, remove it, or strike it and mark it as a dupe.
  5. Be Polite and make no additional comments.

Spam

If a suggestion is deemed by the community to be either not made seriously, or simply completely awful and not worthy of inclusion on the Suggestion page for a two-week period, it can be spaminated. The suggestion may be sent to either the Peer-Rejected or Humorous suggestions pages.

Eligibility for Spamination is acheived if there are at least 7 Spam votes and the number of Spam votes are equal to 2/3rds or greater of the total number of votes, with the author vote included in all these tallies. In addition, a Sysop can if they so choose cycle any suggestion as spam regardless of time spent under voting, if the suggestion has three or more Spams as long as Spams outnumber Keeps; this includes their own spam vote. Otherwise, suggestions may not be removed as spam unless voting has been open for 6 hours.

Authors are not allowed to use Re: to defend their work or correct the editor after a suggestion has been removed.

If the Suggestion has become eligible for Spamination, you must:

  1. Place the spam template on the page, with 3 variables showing the number of each type of vote received.
    {{Spam|keep|kill|spam}}
  2. Remove all voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).
  3. If it's still on the Current Suggestions list, remove it, or strike it and mark it as spaminated.
  4. Be Polite and make no additional comments.

Humorous

If the removed Suggestion is deemed humourous, you must:

  1. Place Template:Notfunny on the page.
    {{Notfunny}}
  2. Replace the Current Suggestions category on the page with Category:Humorous Suggestions.
  3. Sign the removal.
  4. If it's still on the Current Suggestions list, remove it, or strike it and mark it as humorous.
  5. Be Polite and make no additional comments.
  6. Bring forth a vandalism case against the user who posted it citing rule 10 of Advice before Making a Suggestion.

Withdrawn or Removed

There are a number of miscellaneous reasons why a suggestion may be removed without falling into any of the formal categories, the most common being:

  • a suggester realising that their suggestion is flawed beyond redemption.
  • the suggestion breaks the suggestion page rules (such as a second suggestion in a day).

To remove a suggestion:

  1. Place Template:Removed on the page, with a variable explaining the reason for removal.
    {{Removed|reason}}
  2. Remove the voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).
  3. If it's still on the Current Suggestions list, remove it, or strike it and mark it as withdrawn/removed.

Revised

For suggestions that are withdrawn for revision

  1. Place Template:Revised on the page, with a variable linking to the revision, or stating that one is in the works.
    {{Revised|link}}
  2. Remove the voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).
  3. If it's still on the Current Suggestions list, remove it, or strike it and mark it as withdrawn for revision.

Multiple Suggestions

For suggestions that are withdrawn because they are the second (or more) suggestion for a poster on the same day (i.e. in a 24 hour period beginning at 00:01 BST).

  1. Place Template:Multi on the page.
    {{Multi}}
  2. Remove the voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).
  3. If it's still on the Current Suggestions list, remove it, or strike it and mark it as withdrawn due to being a multiple suggestion for the day.

This limit does not include suggestions which the author has removed for the purpose of revision. Suggestions may be revised once per day at most.

Edited Suggestions

For suggestions that have been significantly edited after voting has started

  1. Place Template:Edited on the page.
    {{Edited}}
  2. Remove the voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).
  3. If it's still on the Current Suggestions list, remove it, or strike it and mark it as withdrawn due to being edited.

Cycling suggestions after voting has finished

Peer Reviewed

If a suggestion has a two thirds majority of keep votes after two weeks voting, then it goes into the peer reviewed section. Place the reviewed template at the top of the page, including the variable for the type of suggestion it is (different sections are listed below).

{{Reviewed|Type of suggestion}}

So to place a suggestion in the Buildings category of peer reviewed, place {{Reviewed|Buildings}} on the page. The template automatically sends the page to the category.

  1. Confirm that there are 2/3rds or more keep votes for the suggestion (spam votes count as kill).
  2. Place Template:Reviewed on the page, with a variable associated with the type of suggestion.
    {{Reviewed|Type}}
  3. Remove the voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).

Undecided

If a suggestion has 50% or more keep votes but less than 66% (two thirds), it goes into the undecided section. Place the undecided template at the top of the page.

{{Undecided}}

  1. Confirm that there are less than 2/3rds and more than half keep votes for the suggestion (spam votes count as kill).
  2. Place Template:Undecided on the page.
    {{Undecided}}
  3. Remove the voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).

Rejected

If a suggestion gets less than 50% of keep votes, it is placed in peer rejected. Place the rejected template at the top of the page.

{{Rejected}}

  1. Confirm that there are less than half keep votes for the suggestion (spam votes count as kill).
  2. Place Template:Rejected on the page.
    {{Rejected}}
  3. Remove the voting rules template and category tag from the bottom of the page (everything below the last spam/dupe vote).
