Current Status

Presently Swithun General has a skeleton staff, due to a severe infestation of West Tapton, which has forced Ständige Vertretung to consolidate our forces around the Dix Place revive point. The management of Swithun General Hospital would like to sincerely apologise for being unable to properly serve the public at this time, but with our resources stretched so thin it is simply not possible for us to maintain the hospital to a high standard at this time. As zombie numbers in Tapton thin out, and the current wave breaks, we will do our utmost to have the hospital, and the Rhode's Park revive point up and running as soon as possible. In the meantime we urge injured survivors to head for St Luke's Hospital (46,73), just 3 blocks East and 1 block South of Swithun General. Those in need of revives can find help at Dix Place (46,75), just 2 blocks South of St Luke's. Revives can still be requested at the Ständige Vertretung Forums.

10 October 2008 Thank god I changed my home base, because this is probably the most active spot in the area. Cades go up and down frequently. I noticed around 2 to 3 hours ago that the barricades were taken down by a couple of zombies outside.

05 October 2008 The barricades have fallen by a lonely zombie from what I could see. It needs the barricades built up ASAP!! Kuji Muji

08 August 2008:

Under attack....some breakthroughs....10 or more on the streets...there are some PK around Swithun look at Ständige Vertretung Forums. --VarVarna

19 July 2008:

It had been 4 months since i last set foot in Swithun Hospital. I returned to find it in relative working order with many worn out looking people hiding inside. I tended to those i could and searched for supplies. I will stay here and and try to help those i can while i can. However, rumors from those passing through is that a horde is heading this way......--Garth Vargos 22:28, 19 July 2008 (BST)

16 March 2008:

I returned to Swithum hospital today for the first time since its second destruction. I was surprised to see it up and running and with a few survivors inside. I stayed for a few hours, attending to those in need, until zombies brought down the last of our barricades. Fighting them off as best i could until i ran out of ammo, i fell back to Earle Towers. May god have mercy on those i had to leave behind...--Garth Vargos 03:21, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

15 March 2008:

There are a few more survivors now, 5+ or so. There are plenty of FAKs for anyone in need of help. Also the generator is fuelled too. If you need help, now you can come here. --S C 00:05, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

14 March 2008:

The hospital generator is out of fuel, there are no staff besides myself but it is accessible from the street. I am a medic, waiting to help those in need.--S C 15:22, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Safety Standards from the Malton Hospitals Group

  • Try to keep this hospital powered at all times.
  • Keep this hospital at VS+2. Those without Free Running need FAKs too. If the hospital is a key building in a battle, and it's a complete emergency, barricade to EHB. Don't try to say you didn't need FAKs at lvl 1.
  • Keep this hospital zombie-free. They're nothing but trouble.
  • Repair damage when possible.
  • Keep at least one doctor at this hospital.
  • Nobody is low priority. We're all in this together; the level one you save today, could be the one to headshot the zombie chewing on your arm a few months down the road.
  • If you have some people to spare, set up an ambulance service to support survivors outside the hospital.
  • Keep a radio inside the building, and please transmit on the hospital frequency, 28.26 MHz.

History and Significance

Swithun was broken, empty and full of zombies when unknown zombie hunters killed the things then left, fat paul, a medic roving on his own, took the place under his wing and barricaded it so it can be used again.

Fat Paul has since moved on, his whereabouts currently unknown, but his good work continues, with Swithun General being taken under the care of Ständige Vertretung, with DrFunfrock (MD) presiding over the operation of the hospital. At present Swithun General is powered, and ready to serve the people of Tapton, with full medical facilities and a revive point currently being established in the neighbouring Dineen Park.

Currently the hospital's permanent staff of the Ständige Vertretung are Richard Coxswell, edgestyle and Garth Vargos. If you are wounded, they will treat your wounds as soon as possible.
