So if you revive a rotter do they lose the skill or do they still have it.. I mean do they have to keep getting revived in NT over and over (every time they die?)--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|ZC|MI|E! 02:20, 13 March 2008 (UTC) 03:42, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

They still have it, and yes, they have to be revived in a powered NT building every time they want to undie. -Ornithopter 03:44, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
That is what I thought... So what is the point of even trying? If they buy that skill they know what they are in for..--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|ZC|MI|E! 02:20, 13 March 2008 (UTC) 03:48, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Some people like the challenge of playing survivors with brain rot. There's even a group called brainROT RUM ☣
that is designed for exactly such people, and they have enough members to be on the stats page. Members of brainROT RUM ☣
typically break into powered NT's to get revives, but they have another (living) member waiting inside to revive them, and the living member also re-builds the barricades. Its actually pretty fun, because it makes getting revived take some real teamwork, rather than just dumb luck and blind patience. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 06:07, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey ya, I just say their page. I guess it would be quite a challenge. Never thought of it like that. As for me.. I think I'll lay off the brain rot for right now.. --Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|ZC|MI|E! 02:20, 13 March 2008 (UTC) 06:18, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Open your mind to the rot! You have only your cerebral immune system to loose! Level 42 is good for you! SIM Core Map.png Swiers 07:05, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
I need to plus up one of my alts. The higher level ones are all currently enrolled in other groups. Be kinda crappy to run off and get brain rot.. Haha. The idea of playing a human w/B.rot is very appealing.(now that you explained your group)--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|ZC|MI|E! 07:09, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Certainly. I was just throwing the propaganda out there. Its not a play style you should rush into; most folks who do it have played the character as a brain rotted zombie for some time. You should also be aware the brainROT RUM ☣
has a lot of ties with PKer group Red Rum, and is composed mostly of documented PKers. Not all the members are technically PKers (mine is a proven bounty hunter, and we are open to other roles) but its a very bad group to join if you dislike PKing as a play style on principle. The basic group concept is that PKing is OK if you do it to "help" people reach level 42... SIM Core Map.png Swiers 07:23, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Hmm.. I almost forgot. I have a lvl20 zombie (400xp) and.. Brain Rot! I made him to see how "the other half lives". I think I may dust him off a bit and feed him a few brains. I can't say that i approve much of Pking, maybe we can work something out. Thanks for all your help. --Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|ZC|MI|E! 07:41, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Not all survivor groups reject members who have brain rot. The Know Nothings are one such group, and there may be others. Most of the Know Nothings don't have brain rot, but at least one does. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 07:50, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
That is a really good point. I guess I have always assumed players with brain rot were just die hard zombie characters. I gave my zombie rot because I was sick of getting random revived. I am going to plus up my zed and think really hard about your group.--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|Z.Quiz|PSS 07:57, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Merging

These pages are awful, and in some areas incomplete. They all need reworking. Any thoughts on standardisation? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:15, 6 August 2008 (BST)

What pages are you talking about?--Karekmaps?! 10:18, 6 August 2008 (BST)
The zombie skill pages. Feeding groan is just a link on the zombie skills page that links to itself, lots of random information is just lumped on the bottom of that page, we still havent got an article on the new ruin rates (Barring the work the Eastonwood Ferals have done). It just needs sorting. I just wondered about a standardish look for each section/page? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:25, 6 August 2008 (BST)
Try to make a short description(summary paragraph) at the top, outside of sections(which should at the very least be the starting stub), then work on adding information and touching it up from there.--Karekmaps?! 12:26, 6 August 2008 (BST)
OK. I'll have a go.--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 12:30, 7 August 2008 (BST)

Feh... 80% of this page needs to just GO. >delete< It is awful. But such radical procedures ought not to be done without some Talk page consultation, first, nuh? --WanYao 12:28, 20 August 2008 (BST)

Yep. Believe me, its better than it was. What you want to lose first? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 12:32, 20 August 2008 (BST)
Everthing below the brief blurb and above the rot revive clinic list? Well.. almost.. I can't look at it right now, but, it looks like it can mostly go... And be condensed into a little "speculative" non-canon kind of article... Dig? --WanYao 12:40, 20 August 2008 (BST)
Id actually place the rot revive list on a separate page. ITs not actually about the skill, but can be referred to. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 12:43, 20 August 2008 (BST)
Perhaps... but that is the least of my worries. How do people feel about just deleting ALL the lame psuedo-science? Just get rid of it. Because, honestly, IMNSHO it's just a mess... And not very good, not even all that interesting as "science fiction", ya know? --WanYao 13:10, 20 August 2008 (BST)
I never like to walk over another mans pseudo science. But Sure. Blank the whole thing. THe brain rot page seems to be the most mutated page out there, --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 13:27, 20 August 2008 (BST)
I feel the same way... about just deleting other peoples' work... However... this page is so very ugh... :| --WanYao 22:36, 21 August 2008 (BST)
Ha! I found the way to do it... Now, all we need to do is just somehow edit and pare down the stuff that's there, stick in a tabbed list, and voila!... Also allows others to add their own theories; for example, there is no "pro-zombie" and/or Barhah fundamentalist explanation... That could be fun... ;P --WanYao 22:44, 21 August 2008 (BST)
IF you're going to do it make the article worth reading. Last time someone tried it they broke it into sentence fragments that were far less informative or visually stimulating than the previous version. And no, the rot reviver lists are quite relevant considering that it's a resource for players who have bought this skill and who have bought this skill exclusively, moving it elsewhere just makes it harder to find information that would only be useful when directly related to this.--Karekmaps?! 03:07, 22 August 2008 (BST)
I write a little better than that, Karek, you ought to know that... ;P Also, I had no intention of removing the list of Rot Revive clinics -- because I agree with you that they ought to be here. There are a number of "neutral" articles that list player groups as examples, and there's little reason this needs to be different.
Anyway, I've got a start on it... Please feel free to collaboratr with me. I am thinking of making this a mock medical condition wiki entry, mimicking the wikipedia... along the lines of this article I wrote up recently... --WanYao 11:20, 22 August 2008 (BST) It needs an edit... But -- the long-windedness of the stuff I wrote is actually intentional.... --WanYao 11:23, 22 August 2008 (BST)
As for the brain rot mock medical condition, would it be on a separate page, a bit like Infection Suggestions? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:32, 22 August 2008 (BST)
No, I was thinking right here, on this page. The facts about the mechanic are already there... The rest is flavour... The flavour IMO can be here... I have no problem with that, personally. --WanYao 01:49, 23 August 2008 (BST)

I just went and deleted all the other stuff.... It was, sadly, a bloody mess that I just could not fix. I tried to save it... I really tried, but I'm just a doctor, not a miracle worker, Jim. ;P Basically, this page ought to be simple... straightforward... informative... Fun stuff can be added later, I've made "allowances" for that... --WanYao 02:54, 29 August 2008 (BST)

Merging/Consolidation/Better Info Organization?

We have both a list of active and inactive rot revive clinics on this page, as well as on Category:Rot revive, which is different than the list we have here. Pretty inevitable, since probably some people find one and some people find the other, and slowly but surely they end up with different information. Should we have some consolidation? Either a merge or a link or an enterprising soul on the lookout to make sure both pages match? I also think both (or the eventual consolidated one) could use individual dates on each active revive clinic. Rather than "these clinics were all confirmed open as of Date X", perhaps it should be something like a last confirmed date for each one? I think this would be more helpful to people trying to find an active RR clinic, as well as to people updating the list. For example, I just added the Attwell Building to both pages in May 2017, but the list is for clinics confirmed active as of October 2016. But I can't update that date to May 2017 in good faith without confirming every single other clinic on the list is still active...yikes! - Evanna (talk) 00:35, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Yeah it seems that both pages are trying to describe the same thing. I would remove the content from Category:Rot revive and add anything from there that's missing/useful to this page. The rot revive category should also be added to every building that's a rot revive. And certainly, each rot revive clinic should have a timestamp and even a short report if you'd like. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 02:56, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
