New Clothes

June 6

A few of these suggestions have now been implemented (I won't bother with an in-game news announcement):-

  • Kilts can be found in the wardrobes of one particular mansion, and in Malton's one and only Kilt Store, hidden away in the corner of a mall (it'll show up as a searchable shop).
  • Jeans have been added to malls and a few other places.
  • Necklaces are available; basic ones in malls, and rarer ones in certain mansions.
  • Gas masks can be found in fort storerooms and fire stations.
  • Safety goggles exist in NT buildings and a few other places.
  • Broken night-vision goggles gather dust in fort storerooms; the military took all the functional ones with them when the forts fell in 2005.
  • Nurse's caps are now available in all healthcare facilities.

Have fun. --Kevan 12:39, 6 June 2007 (BST)

*bows* Thank you Kevan! Thank you a lot! So, does this mean that you do not want any more clothes suggestions (because they will be coming at quite a fast rate), or are you more than happy for us to continue suggesting? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:07, 6 June 2007 (BST)

No, by all means keep them coming. I'll pick out a few to add every so often - it's trivial to add most of them, and there's plenty of room in the game for them. --Kevan 14:11, 6 June 2007 (BST)
I'm glad then that we will have something small added in-game fairly regularly then. I have to admit I'm not as active in-game as I used to be - mainly due to the lack of skill-based updates. The flavourful updates have motivated me again though, I love suits and the like. Thanks again for all your effort into this game. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:35, 6 June 2007 (BST)
Nice! I'm especially glad that you plan to include more in the future. more unique items would really make it fun to hunt them down.-- Vista  +1  14:52, 6 June 2007 (BST)

June 12

More clothing updates: the city now has bandannas, aprons, mirrored sunglasses, 3D glasses, extra scarves, leather goods, fur coats and fast-food staff paper hats.

Let's get searching people! --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 00:12, 13 June 2007 (BST)

September 7

Cheers Kevan. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:39, 8 September 2007 (BST)
Where are white robes? I can't seem to find them. Clay5x 14:40, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Ideas

Do we already have swim goggles in the game? And do we already have hard hats? Uncyclopedian

We do not. How about adding a new suggestion to the bottom of the list with those ideas? Make sure it is two separate suggetsions. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:50, 19 August 2007 (BST)

Gold Necklaces

What the...I don't remember putting that one up...That suggestion was up at 5:00 BST, which is midnight here...and by that time...I'm sleeping.....but my sister is not! Yes...I have a tank...but the FBI has the Army standing outside my door with antitank weapons, more tanks, guns, artilleries, and a bunch of other stuff. Organisation

Ok, I really think that we need more organisation on the clothes suggestions page. However, it needs to be different to the current suggestions policy. I think that clothes suggestions should only stay up for about 3 or so days. A week is a fair amount of time for a small, specific suggestion.

The page is only going to get longer, and it needs to be cycled very regularly.

Ideas? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:39, 7 June 2007 (BST)

Well you could always take the initiative and do whatever you want. I really don't think many of us even care. But if you so much as touch my hoodie suggestion, I will make your internet life a living hell. On a better note, go vote yes on my hoodie idea. Please? Pretty please? And tell everyone else to vote yes on it too. A dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 09:12, 7 June 2007 (BST)
Actions draws action. The more regulated it is the less people participate. I'd say simply cycle it in batches of ten every time it goes over 25 suggestions. with a direct link of whats on each page for now. Lets see how long we can keep it free style.-- Vista  +1  09:22, 7 June 2007 (BST)
Maybe separate then by the space they use? I mean keep this page with links to "face", "legs", etc. but probably the worst would be at first, in time with more and more suggestions rejected or accepted, and even implemented the ammount will drop considerably-- Che -T GC X 10:34, 7 June 2007 (BST)
That's a good idea, but honestly, I haven't had as much fun on this wiki in months, The suggestions page used to be like this. Fast moving and freeform, and with every new rule it became more contricting and less fun... But you're right, this won't last... So we'd better plan ahead. seems good. I'm not sure we should include rejected or accepted, but simply let kevan decide without giving our judgement outside our votes. So how about we simply cycle them with ten suggestions at a time into slot-pages, and leave it at that?-- Vista  +1  11:53, 7 June 2007 (BST)
Sounds good. I don't think there is a need for an implemented list - just point to clothes. And Non- implemented? Well, lets just store them all away somewhere. A mega list. Whether they should be accepted / rejected, I dunno. But we gotta weed out the stupid ones, like thongs. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:12, 7 June 2007 (BST)
Ok, I admit, thongs where a stupid idea. Dumb sense of humor I guess. Want me to delete it?--Seventythree 01:16, 8 June 2007 (BST)

I moved the TOC to the right just to make the page shorter. Hope it Helps. --genie in a bottle - zone 05:18, 8 June 2007 (BST)

That actually makes a huge amount of difference. Thanks, Genie. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:53, 8 June 2007 (BST)

The page is getting way too long, too fast. Let's hope after the first week the speed starts to slow down, or an emergency solution would be the only way to handle this. And I'm clearly not blaming anybody, since I have 3 suggestions up there-- Che -T GC X 09:18, 8 June 2007 (BST)

A simple question

So lets say that I wanted to add a mechanic to a suggestion, such as when you get a melee kill you get some blood spatter on you, and more so with a knife. You could wipe that blood off for 0 AP. Since a majority of this suggestion is a game mechanic would it go on the main suggestion page? --Lord Evans 04:50, 8 June 2007 (BST)

I'd say yes, anything to do other than adding in new items would go to the main suggestions page. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:54, 8 June 2007 (BST)

Rules

Krazy monkey has simply set a sytem akin the regular suggestion page. And has been expanding them on the go. I think we should adapt the rules to suit the nature of the page.

This would be more suited to this page I believe.

  • New suggestions go at the bottom of the list.

Suggestions should use this setup:

==Name suggestion==
Description of the item, preferably including slot used, colour and the location were it would be found.
===Yes===
Votes for go here
===No===
Votes against go here
  • To vote simply sign your name with a timestamp (4 tildes --> ~~~~)at the appropriate place. Only one vote per person.
  • Suggestions being cycled for space constaints should be sorted according to the slot they use.

Cycling should be used to keep the page below 25 suggestions at a time.

  • Kevan is the final arbiter decides wether he implements a suggestion based on his own judgement (and hopefully popular support)
No time limits or max suggestions per day, And no peer, undecided or rejected.
Who agrees/disagrees?-- Vista  +1  11:56, 8 June 2007 (BST)
My agrees --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 14:03, 8 June 2007 (BST)
I like it split up but how about just Clothes/Suggestions/Shirt instead of Suggestions/Suggestions.? --Max Grivas JG / M.F.T. 20:25, 8 June 2007 (BST)
Done. I'm going to implement it as the page really needs to be cycled.-- Vista  +1  14:46, 9 June 2007 (BST)
I've slightly modified name of "foot slot" and also i think "Other" should better be "New Slots" --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 15:11, 9 June 2007 (BST)
Don't forget to place some sort of expiratory date on them. Unless we want infinite voting time? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 16:20, 9 June 2007 (BST)
why not?-- Vista  +1  18:02, 9 June 2007 (BST)
Cool, Vista ran tasks without noticing this my comment... <_< Anyway, just for information "official" names of slots are: "wearfc", "wearhd", "wearnk", "wearst", "wearjt", "wearct", "wearts" and "wearft". So it's better to be "footwear" than "boots" --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 16:28, 9 June 2007 (BST)
Renamed the page to footwear. and I let other stay other instead of new slots, as suggestions that introduce new colours or use all slots use that category too.-- Vista  +1  18:02, 9 June 2007 (BST)

Once again about archieves... There is this page. As we're not going to mark them successfull/awfull, this page should be changed to something like Clothes/Implemented and taken care of accordingly --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 20:48, 12 June 2007 (BST)

That's actaully a good idea. Then have a 'bin' for the rest of the suggestions that anyone can access at any time and vote on. Maybe have a page per month in the 'bin'? It would be much easier to access and reference to. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:12, 13 June 2007 (BST)
Done --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 15:34, 13 June 2007 (BST)

To help navigate between the different suggestion tipes I think we should add the {{ClothesNavigation}} at the top of each of the different "slots" pages-- Che -T GC X 21:54, 15 June 2007 (BST)

Done --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 08:00, 16 June 2007 (BST)

Is there any rule that clothing suggestions must be signed by the author? I had thought there was, but only see where the page says "should follow" the template, which includes the tildes; might we want to implement such a rule for clothing suggestions? I'm noting a few authors of late have been adding stuff but removing their sig from the suggestion, which might be a problem if you want to take it to that person's talk page. Maybe I have a stick up my ass, but I find it very annoying. --Slightly Lions 10:46, 25 October 2007 (BST)

I don't mind. Anyway, if a suggestion is implemeneted when moving it i add the athor's sig - usually it's the first "yes" vote --~~~~ [talk] 18:12, 25 October 2007 (BST)

Hockey mask

this prob isnt the right place for this but I cant see were to put it, ive traveld half way across the map to get a hocky mask (sad I know) got one returned to zed form to find I cant bite any more Ive got a cool but usless headbut attack but no bite and I cant take the mask off!! is this a bug or am I doomed to be half a zombie for all eternity —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lt mig (talkcontribs) 12:16, 11 June 2007.

So, are you saying that you cannot use the bite attack with the hockey mask on? Interesting. Pretty cool actually. Muzzled Zed, anyone? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 15:02, 11 June 2007 (BST)

prity much mate, dont get me wrong my first kill by head butt is gona be cool but being stuck with a attack with all the stats as a bite but with with no infection aint so clever and its some how stuck to my face other zeds are laff'in at me :-( LT MIG —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lt mig (talkcontribs) 15:10, 11 June 2007.

So you can't remove it just by going to your profile and selecting the -------- item for your face slot? —Revenant talk 16:32, 11 June 2007 (BST)

Yer that was the first thing I did other then flap about screeming get it off, ive tried the -------- thing and saved but it just ignor'd me and kept it on :-( there's Thousands of people that play this game im hopeing im not the only idiot to get sum'in stuck to his face!! LT MIG

Do you have memories of life? Perhaps that makes the difference...-- Vista  +1  17:53, 11 June 2007 (BST)
I was able to drop an item while dead. Seems more than slightly bizarre if you can't drop one while a zombie – heck, at least you're animate. —Revenant talk 18:16, 11 June 2007 (BST)

Can you try to put new clothes on instead? Something else on the face slot? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 07:32, 12 June 2007 (BST)

NA it wont let me drop it tried agen to day i dont think it can be for a lack of skills ive maxed out on the zed side (exept for brain rot), dident think to try and replace the item cherz dux ducis ile give it a go when im next alive, shame coz killing peaple with head butt is growing on me :-( ive added a screen dump of me picking attacks and a link to me profile on my talk page if any one wants a look soz if its a bit ruff im new to this —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lt mig (talkcontribs) 09:25, 12 June 2007.

You can replace or remove it just like any other clothing when you're alive, but there's also a message on the settings page that tells you how to get rid of the mask while you're a zombie. If you're not getting that message, give me your character name and I'll take a look. --Kevan 09:49, 12 June 2007 (BST)

I've started a page on this: Headbutt. --Toejam 15:19, 15 June 2007 (BST)

thanks kevan I can see how to get it off now, was that put there resently or do i need glasses? its a bit of a shame though the mask is really cool could the headbutt attack not be stronger or summing? at the mo i see me taking it off just because its a bit week compared to the bite —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lt mig (talkcontribs) 017:59, 15 June 2007.

Dupes... Again and Again and Again...

Can we just please delete straight away multiple suggestions and point them towards the archive? I think this would be ok, since non-implemented suggestions are under an indefinite voting period. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 07:46, 14 June 2007 (BST)

I think it will be better to leave the name, the reason for the deletion and a link to the suggestion, at least for a couple days. but since the page is this long, I can go for a yes-- Che -T GC X 08:06, 14 June 2007 (BST)

Ok, Idea:

'''This clothing suggestion is a [[Clothes/Suggestions/TYPE#HEADING|duplicate of one already in the archive]]. Suggestions in the archive are under voting for an infinite amount of time and future implementation is not necessarily ruled out. Please check in future when submitting a new suggestion that it is not already in the archive.'''
Can someone please set up a template for this? I could do it, but I'm a little busy at the moment. Keep it small, and make it look all officious. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:25, 3 July 2007 (BST)

It needs a little cleaning up, but I think something like this should be inserted in when a duplicate is suggested, and left for 24 hours. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 08:43, 14 June 2007 (BST)

Yeah I think that will work, and maybe people will start checking if they see that on some suggestions-- Che -T GC X 09:18, 14 June 2007 (BST)
Screw the 24hrs, make it 6 hours or something. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 11:59, 14 June 2007 (BST)

mirrored sunglasses

ummm what are mirrored sunglasses and how do they difer from regular sunglasses?--Anonymous Warrior 14:10, 14 June 2007 (BST)

They are just like normal sunglasses except other people see their reflection in the lenses and they cannot see the wearer's eyes. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:42, 14 June 2007 (BST)
sunglasses, mirrored sunglasses. Why do you ask it on suggestions talk page? --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 15:42, 14 June 2007 (BST)

More Organization

Speaking of organization, it may be easier to follow who is voting on what when on all the clothes/suggestions pages if something similar to the change done on Historical Events is done on them.--karek 09:36, 22 June 2007 (BST)

Further explanation? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 09:54, 22 June 2007 (BST)

Just take a look at what I was trying to address a week or so ago 3 headings up. However, yes I agree. I've already deleted a few total dupes anyways. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:18, 3 July 2007 (BST)

Does it matter? just make sure you paste the unique votes that have nothing to do with the dupe in the original and delete the rest at leasure. I'm all for keeping this page as light on rules as possible.-- Vista  +1  10:37, 3 July 2007 (BST)
Very good point with the "normal votes move". however this shouldn't apply to "already-in-game" dupes. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 12:15, 3 July 2007 (BST)

Bursting at the seams

I want to bring this to your attention - the 'Other' archive is getting rather large. I suggest we place 'item' clothing suggestions in a new sub-page or something. I dunno, you guys have more thoughts? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:55, 29 July 2007 (BST)

Toga

Regarding what I suggested, what exactly is the beef with it? I'm trying to come up with ideas that might be interesting. Besides, a lot of military clothing and a vast majority of run-of-the-mill civilian clothing has been implemented, and so many here are bloody dead-set against any more "trenchcoaty" army stuff, plus robes are different from togas. I honestly don't think a little variety would be fatal, especially not purely flavor items.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Slightly Lions (talkcontribs) at 08:36, 8 October 2007.

What beef? You have good number of yes votes anyways. actually when implementing, Kevan doesn't even take the voting as obligatory criteria, so i don't know what are your worries --~~~~ [talk] 08:54, 8 October 2007 (BST)
I assume that the other voters, like myself, think that Togas are stupid and don't need to be included in the game, there is no explanation(point) for it, might as well add bedsheets as wearable clothing and adult diapers as hats.--Karekmaps?! 09:43, 8 October 2007 (BST)
My apologies for bitching here, Duke. Taking this to the appropriate talk page. --Slightly Lions 13:44, 8 October 2007 (BST)

"Cycling"

OK, on the article page here, it says this should be "cycled" when it gets to 15 suggestions, but it's way over that now, and there are no instructions on how to do this. So what I'm going to do is copy and paste. Hopefully that's what is intended. If not, and I unintentionally muck it up, please feel free to revert, and "cycle" by whatever means is appropriate. Instructions are here, just cut the old suggestions and file them where they belong, anything less then two weeks old stays.--Karekmaps?! 07:15, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, looks like you did it right. Usually they should be moved when there's more than 25 of them and page is too long. --~~~~ [talk] 15:24, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Santa Costume

Shouldn't somebody move this to implemented? I mean...it is in the game as a limited item right now... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 22:47, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

This is more than 15

Who's moving these things, anyway? I could have sworn there were suppose to be 15 suggestions on this page...to avoid something...what was it? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:09, 10 July 2008 (BST)

Thanks!

I wanted to thank you guys what used dis page. In years past, after UD recieved the clothing update, I occasionally reviewed this page for ideas on clothes to add to Hell Rising :3 ALl but the silliest things got in - even luchador masks, etc. It's not stealing if I thank you! -- Amazing?! 02:17, 26 April 2011 (BST)
