Questions

What does this hostile competition takeover mean for you?

User:Rosslessness/MM acceptable? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:55, 18 August 2010 (BST)

Sounds fine. I look forward to trouncing you allstars and getting a headstart in the marathon.--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 19:56, 18 August 2010 (BST)
Its ridiculous. Vinetown Scout needs to get necrotech employment. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:57, 18 August 2010 (BST)
Actually, I'm just going to edit the link to this page so that it doesn't include the "Discosaurs/" section. 'kay?--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 19:59, 18 August 2010 (BST)
Can we have a link on your page then? Any of my events ideas grab you?--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 20:07, 18 August 2010 (BST)
Sorry, only just noticed this. Added a link (actually. did so before I saw this, and was coming here to tell you. :P) All of them look interesting, and I'll probably compete in as many rounds as possible. How long will there be between each contest?--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 21:03, 18 August 2010 (BST)
3 weeks. As a guess. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:53, 19 August 2010 (BST)
Fair enough. I may be less active in some, because I'll be doing competitions with another alt at some point.--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 11:02, 19 August 2010 (BST)

I don't get it, how would you guys know if someone went out of the four suburbs? --Aeon17x 04:04, 24 August 2010 (BST)

Allow me to answer since the rules came from my AHMH series. We have our ways. That is all you need to know. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 04:05, 24 August 2010 (BST)
That's bullshit. You can't know unless you, yourself, were outside of the suburn; or zerging. Either way, I'm calling you a cheater. - Poodle of Doom 04:16, 24 August 2010 (BST)
Keep in mind some of the other players here kept up with the Manhunt news despite not competing. In AHMH3, we had Red Hawk One watching in the area. I'm not too sure what his intentions were in the area, but I'm sure if he saw one of us out, he would have reported it. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 04:20, 24 August 2010 (BST)
Oh,... you bitch! You so totally had me when you said HE WAS INSIDE THE PLAYING AREA.... - Poodle of Doom 04:39, 24 August 2010 (BST)
I never said he was inside the area, I said he was in the area. There's a slight difference. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 04:40, 24 August 2010 (BST)
He was actually in Southeastern Darkerstown, the center of the playing field, reviving contestants. That aside, it would not be zerging if one had an alt (or two) patrolling a safe distance from the parameter; 1) Alt finds contestant out of zone. 2) Alt publicly announces the discovery. 3) Main sees the public announcement. 4) Main, outraged, removes contestant from game. - The key is to make the info public before you act on it, so the fact that you play both characters becomes largely irrelevant. --VVV RPGMBCWS 05:49, 27 August 2010 (BST)

So... will you be reporting the identities of the participants to the Rogues Gallery so that there will be no increase in a person's bounty if an uninformed third party reports a kill? I believe that this could fall under the mutual hostilities exemption but only if the moderators are informed as to who is participating. Just a thought. --Lois talk 10MFH 16:55, 23 September 2010 (BST)

The Rogues Gallery incident happened once in AHMH3, but the kill was discredited when they were informed both players involved were participants, as seen here. It would probably be wise to send the Gallery a link to RitA and a list of groups participating. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 17:16, 23 September 2010 (BST)
We would appreciate it. :) It would make our jobs a lot easier. --Lois talk 10MFH 17:21, 23 September 2010 (BST)

A new team!

I added my own team to the scoreboard! Nobody else wants to be in a team with me, something to do with too much friendly fire :( --Karloth Vois ¯\(°_o)/¯ 15:18, 7 September 2010 (BST)

Karl? Friendly? Nothing to be done! 15:18, 7 September 2010 (BST)
I don't know I might have used the name "The team formerly known as Karloth Vois" -- Emot-argh.gif 15:31, 7 September 2010 (BST)
I like that! Definitely better. --Karloth Vois ¯\(°_o)/¯ 16:31, 7 September 2010 (BST)

Minimum/Maximum Team numbers?

Any? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 16:57, 7 September 2010 (BST)

At least 2. I'd like to put in a maximum of 10. Any objections?--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 17:52, 7 September 2010 (BST)
Happy with the maximum, but I dont see a reason to exclude Vois. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 18:28, 7 September 2010 (BST)
I'd be happy to, but the idea was a group manhunt, and, annoying as he is, I didn't really want to defecate on Poodle's dream. Willing to allow only one person now. BUT HE HAS TO WIN.--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 23:47, 7 September 2010 (BST)
And by gum I'm going to win! Why, that Karloth Vois Team will be dead by my hand within the hour. --Karloth Vois ¯\(°_o)/¯ 04:03, 8 September 2010 (BST)

Revive Point Kills / ZKing

I can't find the original discussion anymore (guess it went down the drain in the EVIL drama delete-fest), but one thing that was omitted in comparison to regular manhunts was the non-counting of RP kills. In fact, I think I recall that Doodles explicitely told on the old talk page that RP kills count. Will the Discosaurs keep up this (IMHO retarded) rules change?
And what about ZKing? Does zambah on zambah action count as kill? With the playground being as red as it is now, I think this could be a major factor this time. -- Spiderzed 22:56, 22 September 2010 (BST)

RP killing is stupid, but if we say no RP killing, we can't have zed on zed, or we open ourselves up to everyone going one block outside to attack and then fleeing to a revive point for immortality.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 23:30, 22 September 2010 (BST)
So you'll exclude both RP kills and ZKing, unlike Doodles' olde plans? -- Spiderzed 06:59, 23 September 2010 (BST)

The Original Plan

July 9:

Poodle of Doom said:
I'm thinking we need to run a PKer event. One that's massive, and hugh! I'm thinking we need to set up a "Rage in a Cage" match between us, and who ever wants to go. It would be a free-for-all event for PKer's and PKer groups.

Basically, what we'll do is pick a suburb to unwilling host this event for us. I'll advertise it on the wiki to all the PKer Groups I can find. I'll through it up on the community portal, and do what I can to attract as much attention to it as I possably can.

Anyone willing to participate would sign up. At the end of a month, lets say, we take who ever signed up, and tell them to meet there. And here's how it will go down,...

  • For every PKer you kill from another group you kill, you get two points.
  • For every civilian you kill, you get one point.
  • For every member of a selected target you kill, you get three points (optional)

At the end of a set amount of time, the person or group with the most points wins the even, and will get a specialized template on the wiki. There will be prizes for first, second, and third, in both groups, and individuals.

What say ye?

B0NESY said:
I think thats a good idea, and just imagine the civilians who are in that suburb, what surprise and fear they will have when they see all the pkers in their town hahaha
Poodle of Doom said:
Yes,... so many people screaming for blood! What a wonderful nightmare this would be...
TripleU said:
Two things:

Wyke Hills or bust! It's close to home for the Thugs, the Sisters, and Annus Horribilis! It has a Mall, and thus no shortage of victims, it has four NTs, so if you die, it won't last long, and BB3 has already passed through (and thus it can only get safer)! Not to mention that it's the best suburb to have ever existed in the history of forever!

This is not the time. People are beginning to calm down about BB3, but many are busy with a similar contest. I suggest this one begin in mid August, ideally on a Friday. Also, I suggest this be more of a group PKing competition. My spin-off point system:

  • One point to your group for each kill (when both are alive and within the suburb).
  • No points for killing people in your group.
  • If you are spotted outside of the suburb, none of your kills are counted

If you kill an opponent, you'd still get one point, but it would still be slightly better than killing some random stranger, because you're slowing them down. Thus, compared to the original system, there's less killing of the killers, and thus more killing overall. It also encourages people to join participating groups, and in doing so, encourages more groups to participate.

Sounds great.... good recon.

This is going to take a while to get set up, so I'm not to worried about that quite yet.

On number one,... That's exactly what I had in mind. Similar to the Manhunt, you wouldn't be allowed to leave the area. On point two, that's a given. Point three, there'd be no way to prove this unless you were outside the area yourself. Tongue :P

I still like the idea of killing surivors and competetors though.

Posydon said:
this sounds like a great idea about people hiding outside the suburb could be an issue because as poodle said the only way you'd know is if you are yourself outside the suburb
Poodle of Doom said:
Yeah, similar to the Manhunt, there'd be a certain level of honesty required.

Sounds good. Might take a lot of effort to organise. I'll help out in any way I can.
B0NESY said:
yea, should we start tagging buildings to inform all pkers or should we just keep it between us and other pker groups?

Let's keep it between us until things get organized and settled.

So,... I'm gearing up to build the page... how long do we think the event should run for? A week? Two Weeks? A month?
The Brain Surgeon said:
Two weeks maybe? A month is too long and people would get bored after a while, and a week isnt long enough I dont think. The competition length can always be increased if there are heaps of people still PKing in the area.

Is this also a recruiting possibility? Could we try and recruit any lone PKers who decide to take part?

Poodle of Doom said:
Yeah, a month seemed a little long,... but seems to be the norm here. A week seemed to short....

Yeah,... it really is about recruiting. Truth be known,... that's what got me to thinking about all of this. This is a great way to pull in tons of new members.

Also, to make sure we get some of the larger groups to partake, I feel as if we should make it known that any number of people could be dedicated to the competition. For example, if Red Rum wanted to participate, but the group was doing something different,.. they wouldn't necessarily be forced to choose between a group activity,... and a PKer event. They could dedicate any number of members to the event really,... as long as it was a minimum five man team.

Posydon said:
2 weeks sounds about right i think we could extend it if we need to
The Brain Surgeon said:
Sounds swell. Also, when would this event be? In a months time mayhaps? It has been suggested that teams/groups are used to tally points etc, then wouldn't solo PKers and potential recruits be discouraged as they arent in a group in which to operate in?
Poodle of Doom said:
We haven't really figured it out yet. I'm keeping an eye on the current Manhunt events trying to find the most opertune time. Yeah they would be discouraged a little bit, but it also encourages them to join a group, possably ours.
Poodle of Doom said:
I'd like to propose another proposition. I got to thinking about what Triple U suggested, and I was wondering if everyone would be comfortable operating this event in a four suburb block?

I'd like to suggets Kinch Heights, Buttonville, West Grayside, and Wyke Hills. Between the four suburbs, there are two malls, thirteen NT buildings, eight hospitals, fourteen revive points,... amongts a great deal of other resource buildings. It would seem that if this really takes off, and we have larger groups attend,... it may be more difficult to fit everyone in one suburb, and still have it be fun. Could you imagine never being alive?

Anyway,... that said, I'd like to propose that this be an invitation type event. I could post five invitations, to five groups, and ask that they RSVP via the groups talk page. Regardless of their decision to attend, or pass, I could include in the invitation, that they invite five other PKer groups to the event. What does everyone think?

Posydon said:
Sounds good i've done something similar before on a smaller scale and used a four suburb square one suburb would probably be too small
TripleU said:
Bingo! I was afraid you might suggest Hollomstown... *shudder* This would be perfect. I'll start making a special sidebar thing, like could be found on a suburb page, but for the whole area.

Why have there be a minimum? What about all the tiny PKer groups?

Poodle of Doom said:
To be honest Triple U.... I'd like to set everything up myself for this, and once I get the general format down, if you'd like to make suggestions, and help after that, it would be appreciated. I like your enthusiam though...

I guess what your saying is true about the minimum. I just don't want larger groups to think that they have to dedicate all their members to the event.

TripleU said:
I made this before I even saw your post. Consider it a suggestion.
Poodle of Doom said:
Don't take it personally. I really do appreciate your help. I'll probably use what you have, and I'd really like your input in the future. It's just that when I get it set up, that's when I'll want your help,... I want to be the one to make it happen,... but when it comes to doing it, I don't mind the help so much then.

July 26:

The Brain Surgeon said:
This sounds like its going to be brilliant fun, I like the idea of a 4 suburb square as well. The 4 suburbs that have been selected sound great too. The NT's are definitely going to help out. Hopefully if we get enough members/groups to participate then it will be two long weeks of violent killing.
Poodle of Doom said:
Yeah they will... can you imagine the slaughter in those suburbs....

July 27:

Poodle of Doom said:
Something else I was thinking about, and wanted to run by all of you is making this an invitation style event. By that I mean,... We would invite five groups,... and ask that they each invite five groups, regardless of participation. It would make this more interesting for the groups,... of course, anyone interested in participating could participate,... however, it would be something flashy, and add extra "wow factor" to it I think....

Not to mention, I have to be careful about spamming on the wiki...

July 28:

The Brain Surgeon said:
Sounds good to me, hopefully the local survivor groups put up a bit of a fight too, because thats always fun

Cool,.... Do you guys want to run the event the first two weeks of October?
TripleU said:
As soon as this starts, I shall cease to be <name removed>, and switch to TripleU, the rotten autothysist, and serve as a representative of The trans-mortal, pro-death group, Annus Horribilis. They plan to enter RiaC, and pwnify us all in the category of Kill-Death Ratio.

Why wait so long?

The Brain Surgeon said:
The invite and the page look great. Looks awesome, have invites been sent out yet? And should we be spray painting the links everywhere and talking about it on the radio?
Poodle of Doom said:
Just to give groups enough time to sign up.

Also thanks for your honesty. Nothing personal with you, but because of our recent signitures on the Fair Tactics page,... when the events start, I'll have to temporarily revoke your privlages for our forums. It will be temporary,.... you'll get them back as soon as the event is over.

That said, I haven't sent out any invitations yet. I still have to set up a start date. October? First two weeks anyone?

Poodle of Doom said:
I've got people interested on the wiki. I need to set up a start and end date. The first two weeks in October it is. If anyone has anything else to add, you can do so by adding a new post in the Private Chat [section]!
