Mall Music

Alright, I've had enough of this. I do all my best to try and get people throwing down their favorite songs for the Mall Tunes, and then what is obviously one person keeps throwing it back to Re: Your Brains. It's a good song, but it's time for something NEW, and this guy doesn't seem to want to quit.

So who is it? And can we reach some kind of damn compromise here?! --Boris 23:27, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

I think looking into the history of the article would answer your question quite quickly: An edit and another edit, but Happykook is not the only one changing it back to Re: Your Brains. --Elbi 00:31, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Gah. I'm an idiot, I suppose. Taking this discussion off here for any future incarnations. --Boris 14:53, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Ah..The song was ok for a little while then.. Not ok anymore...--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|ZC|MI|E!|[1] 01:38, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
I have been changing it back. If you check the History you will discover that back in June of 07 the Mall Tunes was created by DoctorRevive and listed Re your Brains as the only song looped. I am a friend of his, and found it funny as hell, both the song itself, but the idea of adding it into the wiki. Then others decided to shit on his idea by deleting his song and adding links that didn't even go to songs... (etc a link to the wikipedia page for thriller WTF?!?) So as his friend i felt it was only right to keep his song going, it was the first, it was the original, it should have stayed. NOW thanks to all you a-holes who kept changing it, thus forcing me to revert it back, a bunch of sysop wannabee's whined to the sysops and had it deleted completely!!! Thanks for having no f-cking respect for those who had original idea's before you, Thanks for not given them the credit that was due, Thanks for ruining it for the rest of us.--Happykook 20:33, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm not going to propagate an argument, just clarify a few things. I don't want to have a long, drawn-out argument, as I'm sure we've all got better things to do than that.
I never intended any disrespect when I first changed the Mall Tunes, I just thought it was a cool little addition to the "fluff" (Fluff, noun; additional canon produced by the makers of a game/TV show/movie in addition to the original canon. Originally coined in regards to the Warhammer 40,000 books, has been adopted to mean any additional canon (or in this case, fanon) material.) surrounding Giddings. I had no idea that anyone would take this kind of offense when I attempted to add to it, and I'm immensely regretful that all of this ever happened- the fault is entirely mine for not checking the history and then assuming that Happykook constantly re-entering the song was the act of a persistent vandal. I take all blame.
In regards to the Wikipedia links, I only put those on there because I couldn't find any MP3s or Youtubes of the associated songs. I'm fairly sure that Thriller had a Youtube link, but the point is moot and if the page history proves me wrong then I'm wrong. To all those involved in this, I'm sorry for acting like an ass and getting the Tunes banned. --Boris 20:56, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Happykook. As I said the other night there, it has not permanently been deleted. The idea is contested therefore it is an issue to be dealt with in Arbitration. If you have such a big problem over this, then take it there instead of arguing on talk pages. -- Cheese 21:19, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

I say, we at /zom/ likewise share a taste for fine quality music to smoke our brandy and drink our cigars by. If you cared to examine our page on this fine wiki, you could fine links to some songs you might like. Cigars and brandy. heres the link: http://www.themagicofdc.com/multimedia/mp3/Thriller.mp3 PLEASE BRING BACK MALL TUNES. I daresay it was the most splendid part of the page. If you gents would like links to any songs you are considering for mall tunes, please feel free to contact moi. The link is to thriller btw, it was mentioned earlier.William Joel 04:22, 9 April 2008 (BST)

Zed Update/Beachhead Tactic

OK, Beachhead Tactic = Tactic created with last game update about zeds blocking barricades.

How the f-ck is it ok to mention the Beachhead tactic as part of the zed victory, but not ok to say the update was a part of the victory? The tactic is FROM THE DAMN UPDATE!!! So they are the same damn thing. Allowing mention of one, and not the other is NPOV!!!!!!!!!--Happykook 23:46, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the siege!

Now that the battle is all said and done with, thanks for everyone -- survivors and zombies -- who made this battle worth hanging around. Bravo to you all! --Sexy Rexy Grossman 06:23, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Moved from Main

yes keep a NPOV but survivors use this stuff and i know some of the stuff i have been writing has been deleted and its not on the talk pages. zeds stop deleting stuff or i will spam your forums--Hurricane63 16:02, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Multiple break ins. Survivors repelled break in all corners of the mall. The largest in the NEC with 10zeds. All of the gennies briefly went down. Zombies got booted, power restored, and cades rebuilt in record time. Still oddly quiet in the mall.--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|Z.Quiz|PSS 13:48, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

January 30, 2008

It could just be me but I think this battle is one for the history books. I'm still pretty new to this wiki so I don't know how to but someone should set aside a page so that people always remember those who held the Bash for a month. Longest so far the Bash has ever been halted.--Rico Montoya 00:48, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

January 17, 2008 The zombies appear to be focusing their attention on the northern half of Giddings with more zombies outside those parts. Survivors are encouraged to defend the mall's corners equally. --Eldonde

January 15, 2008 Cades coming down with minor break ins and groups of up to 6 zeds. However those few that make it in before someone recades are outnumbered 10:1 and are soon thrown out again. Feral Undead members and other ner-do-wells have been sneaking in while in human form but they soon change their minds with the help of a few shotgun shells to the head. They don't learn, do they? --TerminalFailure

January 14, 2008 receiving reports of breakin, whether its PKers or team zombie hardcore screwing around i don't know either that or the survivors have pretty good response times lol --Hurricane63 15:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Meanwhile, The Legend's new and fully loaded PKer character, "Captain Frye" will continue to openly target any who challenge LUE and other zombie's inevitable domination of the entire Pitneybank area with continued assassinations. I certainly challenge anyone available to try to stop me, and let's see where the body-count takes us.

January 9, 2008 zed spy "Gorebag" is down to 4 HP in the north of the mall so if someone would teach him a lesson... :) --TerminalFailure 10:23, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

January 8, 2008 The zeds have abandoned the attack on Giddings completely for now, in favour on concentrating their whole force on The Morrish NT. There is also a small force making frequent attacks on the auto repair shops that flank it, but they seem to be reclaimed as quickly as possible. Zed moral can't be too high. --McWaffle 17:35, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

I actually gained entrance today into The Morrish NT at 11:20 PST, only a small force of zombies made it through...at last count there were 336 survivors holding up barricades, repairing generators and whatnot. Seems like the survivors are not paying much attention to their situation...--Dan Colbert 19:25, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

January 6, 2008 No major break-ins of Morrish yet, the survivors seem to be holding well. The Auto Repair shops are back in survivor control too. Maybe Pitneybank will be just too much for the Second Big Bash just as the first was? --McWaffle 16:12, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

775 strong in Giddings/Morrish as of this writing, with almost 300 in Morrish NT, which is now the focus of assaults by the Second Big Bash. Many survivors have adopted "The Bash Stops Here!" as their rallying cry against the zed horde. --Zullin 23:17, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

January 4, 2008

Keep an eye on the NW barricades, they have been brought down to LB at times. This is shaping up to be one for the history books. User:Spencer J
177 zeds outside Morrish, and 70 more outside NW Giddings. Many more in the area. Attacks have taken out generators in the auto repair shops. Over 680 defenders in Giddings/Morrish as of this writing, bolstered by many of the valiant defenders of Farmer and aid from groups all across Malton. This looks like one hell of a siege. --Zullin 20:27,
The Farmer NT has fallen, and the horde is moving north. There is already a gathering of 80+ outside the Morrish NT, and intel suggests the north corners of Giddings will come under attack first as the less well defended areas. Keep an eye on those cades people! --McWaffle 00:35, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

January 3, 2008 The New Year has brought the Second Big Bash to the doorstep of Giddings; NT scans show huge hordes to the south that will undoubtedly converge on the mall and Morrish NT in the next few days. Approximately 550 survivors inside the mall and Morrish as of this writing, with defenses lighter in the north half of the building. Calls for help are being broadcast to every corner of Malton -- if the Bash is stopped, it will be here. --Zullin 04:35, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

January 2, 2008 Creedy fell easily to the big bash and it is much more defensible, Good luck. Pvt human

It was also manned by noobs - Giddings is well held, good luck with the assult. Jeffery Minor
creedy is less defendable because once the gatehouse is down creedy is as good as lost, see you in the mall --Hurricane63

James007Bond just took out the generator in the SE corner. I'd love to Axe him in half, but im on my last AP. Anybody wanna save me the trouble?--Kuddles 07:44, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Slight reduction in Barricade levels?

Hi! I'm a level-three-or-so survivor who currently lacks Free Running. I'm in the vicinity of Giddings - I've been holed up with friends for a few days, so I'm within two or three AP of the Mall. I even have shopping - the latest skill that I purchased! ...Unfortunately, I can't get into the mall to use it. I realize that you fellows fought hard to secure this place, and I'm grateful - but what's the use if survivors can't get inside to utilize what you fought so hard for? (I realize that most survivors have Free Running, of course.) I'm running low on ammo (Read: I have one bullet left in my pistol and I'm saving it for myself, in case I get caught by a zombie). Would you gents consider lowering the Barricades down to VSB++ for a day or so? I've got basic marksmanship skills (And a great record with the pistol - my first Zombie kill, I accomplished in 25 AP - took down a full-health zombie within those 25!) If I could just get a few more pistol clips (Or perhaps a shotgun, I've got so many shells it's not even funny), I know I could go out and gain enough EXP for Free Running. Then, I won't have to bother you about this again!

Umbrella Grafitti at Giddings Mall

Doctor Revive, please accept Umbrella Corporations sincerest apologies for not replying to your complaint on our discussion page. Our wiki site has been neglected for the past few months. Anyway, in regards to the grafitti by Drake Alexander, we apologize for this. The only time I have ever seen Drake Alexander post on our forum, is when he applied for membership. He is NOT an active member on our forum, NOR does he remain in contact with the rest of UC. I suspect he is somebody who applied for membership with the sole purpose of slandering our name. I will address this issue with our President, and Im sure his membership will be revoked. We wont miss him--Dr Doom86 20:31, 8 August 2007 (BST)

no don't be stupid, get free running should o that ASAP. search police stations, taking down barricades is unnessesary trouble for one person, let alone for one day.

Is there any forum for survivors defending Giddings Mall? --Uncas 02:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Mall Tour '07

It seems like Mall Tour '07 should be arriving within the next coupla days. After Treweeke, Giddings is the next logical stop, and Xyu said on the Mall tour page that the next move should be pretty easy to guess. While this could always be a trick, um, yeah, I don't think it is. That in mind, ya know, survivors should get ready for a siege. This probably isn't really news to many, but still, good to know. --Andre Aloisius 04:11, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I've been waiting for this ever since TSO failed to smash your building last year. We'll be with you soon. >:) -- Xyu 13:02, 1 March 2007 (GMT)

Well that didn't last long. O_o Well played to those of you that put up a fight anyway, the Mall Tour salutes you! --Xyu 23:55, 05 March 2007 (GMT)

Giddings has not truly fallen yet, new hope is on the way

As I am writing this a few of the Northern controled surivor parts of the city are perpairing a large team to go down to help recapture Giddings mall and possible the Fort Creedy too and I implore that all other surivors help in recapturing the mall. I will not let some smelly dead meatbags take down brave citizens and scientist and kill military personel. This and the earier fall of Caiger Mall has troubled me and caused me to think for a hour and I've got the perfect plan to recapture Giddings for now and soon recapture Caiger Mall in a month if all goes right here. I'll work on getting the plan on paint shop then uploaded on here as my copy is currently on paper. General Abizaid 0:30, December 20 2006

LOL! Everyone in Giddings is dead or a zombie. It fell. Shacknews is leaving. you are welcome to take the mall from those who have it now, if you can. Good luck to you and remember plans do not always go as designed.--FyunchClick 00:43, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Look The plan will work, as far as I'm conserned, giddings didn't fall 'that infocan be erased" as the mall will be ours in 1 day. Shacknews will be hunted down and defeated and we will move on to recapturing the fort while a massive army is down there. Plan and battle won. General Abizaid 0:53, December 20 2006

Doubtful. 1.Shacknews will not be hunted down. We are in process of disbanding. 2. Take the mall. Please. You'll have to clear the ferals, but your massive coalition should have no problems with a couple hundred zombies. 3. Take the fort. Please. Then hold it. No one else has been able to, other than zombies.

Seriously, you may believe it hasn't fallen, but your plan is re-population, not victory over a zombie horde. Survivors need to learn to not claim victory when they take over an empty mall. Winning would have been showing up when the Horde was there and forcing us to leave; not after we left and are quitting the game.

1.We'll regain the mall and fort easlly. 2.Why shacknews quicking, afraid to fight a real army preped for combat and a general with a masterful plan.3. how can it be a victory when we'll have the mall in less than a day back under suvivor control.General Abizaid 1:10, December 20 2006

Again, you are welcome to them. We're quitting because we're bored and it just isn't fun anymore: We helped end the siege at Blackmore; We ate Caiger mall, that had never fallen to zombies, until we ate it; we sacked 6 other malls, a stadium and Caiger in less than 100 days; we ate, killed and drove off the largest, most organized survivor group in the game. Twice. Threats and rumours of massive coordinated survivor armies are just that: no survivor group defeated us. If you were that strong and coordinated you would have faced us. You didn't. End of story. We're done. Enjoy your mall and fort, they're all yours. --FyunchClick 01:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

New Queen of Giddings

If you haven't heard already, Giddings Mall now has a new Queen. I am leader of the Group, Lud Lum's Lesbians. I suggest you rally yourself to my cause or get out of Gidding Mall. When the zombies get here I'll be the one to say who gets in to the mall and who gets shoved out onto the street.

  • PLEASE smack the F*CK out of this bitch and kill her. She's blowing so much smoke out of her ass, she's the one who made the Fog on Halloween.
  • I didn't have anyting to do with the fog, and that's not smoke. - Lud Lum 14th November 2006
  • Oh--for the love of breasts. :( You make lesbians sad, Lud Lum. C'mon, if you're going to parade around under a group name like that, you might as well act classy about it! This is just thuggery! --Dray 20:25, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Good luck Giddings

Hi there all, just wanted to wish you all the best of luck against the Big Bash as very, very shortly (Perhaps even already) they plan on laying waste to Giddings. Then they'e moving up to Yagoton and to Bale Mall where there's about 400 Survivors, maybe more lying in wait. Now, there's no way 400 Survivors can halt TBB in it's tracks, but if you guys over here at Giddings can hold them off for as long as possible, it would give us as Bale Mall a bit more time to call in allies and re-enforcements. Of course, if you have the man power, my prayers are with you that you can extinguish this Zombie movement yourself (I mean defeat, not force them to disband, heh'). There's about two weeks before they make it to our doorstep, so if anyone here would like to make the journey to Yagoton to help out afterwards, feel free! Either way, good luck in standing as a beacon of hope for Survivors everywhere! The Sun Organization wish you all the best... Chopper SUN SOTD EF 10:23, 27 July 2006 (BST)

No we're not. We're moving SE. We've already announced that. If we went North we'd have to backtrack to go SE. Sonny Corleone WTF RRF ASS 15:33, 28 July 2006 (BST)

Entry Points

Ok with the Big Bash here I think it would be an idea to designate 2 buildings as entry points and heavily guard them. I know the bash can tear them down swiftly but if we have people to constantly barricade we should be ok. We also need a way for people to get out to revive and newly revived people can come back in.

Just a thought. Pillsy 16:26, 27 July 2006 (BST)

  • If there are already 2 or at least on can someone please let me know. Ta.

Others

I can't find an HTML named character reference for the square brackets, which is why the coordinates are links that someone looped back. Are the coordinates necessary, or at least is it worthwhile to find out what the correct characters are?

How about this instead of the PoV problem with the claims of alts for the zombie groups?

Some of these human groups claim that this is in response to alternate characters being used by the zombie forces laying seige to the building, but there is no current proof of these alternate characters.

That way, it's marked as a PoV claim and (hopefully) everyone is happy. Or at least mollified? Shadowstar 02:51, 1 Nov 2005 (GMT)

EDIT: Used my Zed character to take another zed down to 3 hp. I'm not going to kill him, but when he breaks in he will be exceptionally easy to kill. Then we can just dump him outside again. The barricades are back up to heavily again.

Actual quote from the PA forum. Whoops! Guess we have evidence. Now everybody (and by that I mean Saromu) stop making retarded changes. --Katthew 02:56, 1 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Things were better when Katthew could ban people.--Milo 02:58, 1 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Don't be stupid, banning people is abuse of mod powers. But yes, things were better. This guy would be facing a 24-hour ban after his second stupid "WE'RE NOT CHEATING MAYBE" edit. --Katthew 03:00, 1 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Oh, not more of this. Yes, people can be stupid, annoying, or even mean. This does not mean we can simply kick them off and only allow good, smart people in the wiki club. We get them to stop doing the stupid, annoying, or mean things with just as much force as is necessary, which generally doesn't include bans.--'STER 03:38, 1 Nov 2005 (GMT)
I think the constant "deleting information from the wiki because it's inconvenient for our group" counts as vandalism. I'd have given the guy 24 hours to cool his jets. After all, it's only a day and it stops stupid edit wars like the one that just happened. Locking someone from editing the wiki for such a short amount of time barely constitutes the term "ban", to be honest. It's a probation.
Yeah, there's morons on this wiki. But I never banned people for just being idiots. Shitting the place up, yeah, that's ban-worthy. Trust me on this. --Katthew 03:43, 1 Nov 2005 (GMT)

There were survivors? Do you mean people who just ran out of the mall? Shadowstar 00:43, 2 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Ha ha, you know I've been editing the Pitneybank page with almost the exact same events, but for some reason no one has particularly cared. Is it not enough to just track the course of major events and put them in a clear and factual form? I'd ask Shadowstar to back me up on this one, but the October Battle of Fort Creedy still hasn't resolved itself. I'd ask Katthew to back me up, but of course there's still the whole DARIS/zerging spector hanging above everyone. Why can't tons of zombies destroying humans like they're supposed to be enough?--Insomniac By Choice 04:21, 2 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Don't needlessly edit the page just you can post Caiger Mall all over the place. We get it, it exists, it's a major human stronghold, I have a character there myself. Just...ease up. -- Ghettovenger 21:04, 19 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Can we stop this constant back and forth revisionism? Having the elipses and other dramatic information doesn't befit an informational article well. It just looks out of place and silly. I wasn't editing it to add Caiger, I just thought that was a useful link. It's just not needed to make it sound like a crime novel though, it should be a wiki, not a novel. Plus, shorter is better. And it doesn't make sense to allude to a current siege, since it's already toast. I've got no agenda here, I just think it's ugly and not neutral enough. Location wiki's aren't the place for that kind of stuff anyway, the Mall Tour page could have an article on it if they want to describe the flesh-eating and such --Mekteef 20:17, 21 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Map

I don't think we need to have a jpg of the neighboring buildings when the map block template does the job fine, especially since we can link each building to its own page. However, as those buildings are for the most part pretty generic and have no real significance as of yet, and since the default no-page colour is red is the NecroTech building's shade, I've delinked them until any actual content is created. --dayfat 07:12, 8 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Mid-May attack

The Shining Ones have been unrelentless in their assault on Giddings, the horde assaulting the North Eastern corner for nearly the a week, break-ins are becoming increasingly common, if you are a low-leveled survivor without free running, you are advised to take shelter in St. Benedicts Hospital, two AP away from the Waldron Square Revivification Point --DJSMITH 20:39, 16 May 2006 (BST)

Giddings

(Warning, ridiculous posturing and histrionics is sure to follow below. But then, why else are we here, eh?)

Giddings Mall is the site of the first significant victory against a large and organized zombie horde (The Many). As such it is the hope of many that the sieges of coming months see similar feats of dedication and stupendous, drunken perserverance. After all, if the Giddingites were to stay in their fortress while other Survivors fought their battles for them they would be little better than the stay-at-home Caigerites who have been damned by many bitter combatants these last few months. As such, exort your brethren to combat the RRF and Shacknews! Don't let pettiness over past failures of leadership condemn the future to a red map of Malton. Tyler Whitney0 03:56, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Over barracading

Nearly all the entry points are at EH or H. Survivors who have are urged to bring the 'cades down on entry points to allow reinforcements. --BeavisSaves 02:45, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

That's cool, I just had to laugh at the "I'm gonna kill Vito Mortis" thing on your user page. I mean ... uh, ok? Take a number!--Vito

Let's destroy LUE! Who's with me? Who's with SANTLERVILLE?

Downdey Mall in Santlerville is making a stand and has issued an open challenge to LUE. THIS is where we draw the line Malton! We're only 10 blocks North West and we stopped the RRF a few months back! All Giddings defenders, if you want to show LUE what you're made of, relocate to Santlerville temporarily and help the fight! It'll probably begin within 48 hours. We're counting on you! Don't let us down. SPREAD THE WORD!--Ulysses Black 05:33, 13 July 2007 (BST)
No. --Sonny Corleone RRF CoL DORIS Hunt! 05:44, 13 July 2007 (BST)
They'll rape you and eat your children. I've seen them do it, mayn! I, being bound to the CDF, have to stay and and rebuild...revive...power...stuff like that. You just make sure you don't have a weak point, as they find and exploit it to the max. They took two corners of giddings in under an hour through our weak spot. To defend effectively, Downdey better have a BUNCH of members that are online at the time they attack. Good luck to ya, but I doubt you'll find much support coming from here. Carl Wolfhiem 07:07, 13 July 2007 (BST)
Thanks anyway, your spiritual support is enough! Good luck rebuilding!--Ulysses Black 15:02, 13 July 2007 (BST)

Sorry humans, we don't go out of our way to hit things we don't plan on hitting just because you've "issued a challenge." We'll steamroll you guys later in the month when we're done with the rest of Malton. Stay fit until then (fat humans taste DISGUSTING, seriously). - Brona 15:10, 13 July 2007 (BST)

As I said on the LUE page, you guys are COWARDS. We're only 10AP NW, that's such a lame excuse. I thought LUE stood for something, now I know I was mistaken...--Ulysses Black 16:51, 13 July 2007 (BST)
Ulysses, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but let's not be calling them cowards just because they have a plan. --Sexy Rexy Grossman 17:13, 13 July 2007 (BST)
Apologies Rexy, I should keep the RP angle in the game where it belongs, not the wiki. --Ulysses Black 18:34, 13 July 2007 (BST)
How would a pack of mindless zombies be 'cowardly,' anyway? --McTrout 01:41, 14 July 2007 (BST)

So how many you think we'll need to take it back? --Ylomaus 15:20, 13 July 2007 (BST)

so i herd u liek mudkips. --Sonny Corleone RRF CoL DORIS Hunt! 18:56, 13 July 2007 (BST)
