Some thoughts on life cultist tactics

Not really worth putting on the front page yet, but throwing these out for discussion... --Cman yall 20:49, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

  1. Don't log off inside a building, you might end up helping to maintain a ransack.
  2. Say Mrh? at random intervals, you never know when some random 'coater will have a spare needle. On the other hand, other zombies may recognise you as a Life Cultist if you do it too often.
  3. Don't take Rend Flesh. If you do 2 dmg, the target is likely to assume you're a noob who needs to ZK for xp. They are likely to forgive you for this, and thus ignore you. If you're doing 3 damage, you are probably not noob enough to get away with that kind of behaviour.
  4. Any use outside a siege? Standing outside a building may attract zeds, is that a good or bad thing?
  5. A variant on barricade strafing: go inside with a friendly breather, and have it barricade to extremely heavy. Groan a couple of times, then have the breather depart. Watch the local ferals tear into that building, only to find it empty (or to find you laughing at them). Now that's gotta be almost as annoying as an unwelcome revive.
And with five breathers doing that, almost a whole suburbs worth of ferals will hear the groan. --Toejam A 15:57, 31 August 2007 (BST)

1) Which is sometimes a good thing, if that building is a vital entry point.
3) Zombies don't really care, nor can they hurt you much if they do. If stelath of this sort maters, use bits- this is the fastest way to earn XP through ZK's, so is popular with newbies. Its also damage equal to the best a survivor can do with an axe- better than non-rending claws can ever do.
4)Use outside a seige? HELL YES. Go into those NT buildings and hang out acting like a zambah brazah until you get a few of the squatting zombies on your contact list. Then knock them all down under 10 HP (you can attack specific zombie contacts) and let a zombie hunter roll in and finish the job, to clear the place out.

Notes on Desperation

I've noticed that some survivors, Trenchcoating aside, often try to stay and defend buildings like malls well after they've expelled their last breath. I don't know if this is a common enough or effective enough tactic to place in the article itself, but I think it bears some mention. Some survivors, especially if a mall or other building is on the verge of being overrun, will begin ZKing rather than spending time running to a revive point. Often, if the main building(s) are about to fall, the nearest NT is under heavy fire as well. Dead survivors who begin ZKing in desperation can either help take out zombies inside buildings during catastrophic break-ins (although they risk wasting survivor AP by adding one more target to the cue) or, if this occurs in large enough numbers, can help buy survivors a little extra time to retreat. --HereticSoul 01:21, 12 April 2007 (BST)

Sometimes feral zombies look into ransacked buildings to see if they need guarded, and if there's already a defender there they think they're unneeded, so they leave. So life-cultists hanging around in ransacked buildings could put off genuine defenders from staying, meaning that when the life cultist's human chums come to retake the building, the only 'defenders' are LCs who'd be more than happy to leave. Easy building recapture. --Toejam A 15:57, 31 August 2007 (BST)

True. I use the same tactics the few times my charrie joins undead ranks(but not now; being a medic is the best^^). I seldom do(as West Becktown is rarely sieged), but it works.--KoronofHearts 03:07, 12 November 2007 (UTC)KoronofHearts

Terrible Roleplaying?

Hi, I'm kind of new here, but I don't think life cultists are terrible RPers, certainly not enough to warrent a template for them saying so. Since zombies can have memories of when they were alive (enough to operate doors and even semi-talk), isn't it concieveable that somewhere in those memories would their friends and loved ones? It's not unprecidented *cough Res Evil: Apocolypse if anyone's seen it cough*--Techercizer 18:36, 17 June 2008 (BST)

Yes it is terrible RP, but then again so is Death Cultism.... --Nitro378 T JNL 18:42, 17 June 2008 (BST)
So, the template at the bottom is really biased and POV. Death cultists get to use a respectable template, quoting Star Wars'Obi-Wan even. But life cultists are stuck with that? I think we need a better one. -- Kittithaj 16:56, 18 October 2008 (BST)
