Safest/Most Dangerous Suburbs

I'm not sure where to make suggestions for the wiki, so I figured I'd just add this to the Discussion page. Anyway, I was thinking it might be interesting to add a new section to this page that keeps track of which suburbs historically are the safest and which are the most dangerous. That is, which suburbs have been green/red most frequently or for the longest periods of time. It may not be helpful in the game, but I think it might be interesting to see. What do you think about this? Briham 02:40, 31 March 2008 (BST)

It's a nice idea, but it would create a shitload of work to dig though the history files to see which one is the safest/dangerous burb in malton, and once we hav found it, people will simply start to change the colors of the longest running burbs in order to keep another burb on the top #1. But if you think it's possible, and want to try it, go ahead, be bold! --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 03:02, 31 March 2008 (BST)
Hmm, I mean its pretty straightforward what single suburb is the worst, but it might not be THAT hard if the amount of suburbs were counted up or soemthing... DanceDanceRevolution 09:07, 1 April 2008 (BST)

Finally!

I was about to make one myself but you beat me to it well I have a screenshot of September 1st but so do you anywho keep up th egood work! , NNRC out --Matterfoot 01:51, 6 September 2007 (BST)

any help would be welcome, since i am not available all the time to take the screenshots for this page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by hagnat (talkcontribs) at an unknown time.
Id be glad to help I added a new section for records --Matterfoot 06:53, 9 September 2007 (BST)
I have records of the suburb danger levels for the last 100 days ending 21st November if anyone wants them. DanceDanceRevolution 22:47, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Why wait ? Submit those that are not alrady in the record. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 23:54, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
I will when I have some spare time then. DanceDanceRevolution 07:07, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Huh

Funny enough, i was already doing this on my own, storing pics on my hard drive since 17th of Sept. The one big problem here is when to take pics. You know, we all live in very different timezones and each day has 24 hours anyway... So was precisely would be a pic for Nth day of Mth month?.. --~~~~ [talk] 08:43, 26 October 2007 (BST)

There is no precision. I try to take the screens before the wiki changes days, but most of the time they are taken when i have time for it. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 13:11, 26 October 2007 (BST)
there should be one settled to keep some approximately uniformity. Also i've noticed i might have some that are missing here - i'll upload them later. --~~~~ [talk] 19:05, 26 October 2007 (BST)
Well we need as much help as we can get sorry I haven't done much in a while hagnat its just you kept uploading them before I could so eventually I forgot all about this place--Matterfoot 19:42, 27 October 2007 (BST)

Good to see some response to my project call

I saw you were having trouble hagnat so I decided to add this to WikiProjects and it worked now I think we should have a honorary template for everyone who contributes to this page--Matterfoot 19:37, 27 October 2007 (BST)

What is with you wiki projects people and the need to take credit for everything and make sure as many people as possible know? Just wondering.--Karekmaps?! 03:27, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Because they [projects] use lots of time. Do you want to waste lots of your time uncredited? --~~~~ [talk] 10:53, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
i often do. I take my credit on where credit is due, but i dont tell people which pages i improved or the systems i created. Credit is important, but i dont want to take credit for any of them. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 10:58, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
i guess it's quite psychological. anyway, i (and many others) wouldn't even know about this particular project without it being pred in wikinews template --~~~~ [talk] 11:05, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
karek is not arguing about the project being advertised in the projects page, but about the honorary template for everyone who contributes to this page bit. I too think this is fairly unnecessary. Simply doing your work in the wiki because it needs to be done should suffice. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 12:24, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
It was just a suggestion plus no publicity is bad publicity ;)--Matterfoot 22:04, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Form which period is this video ? You might as well add it to this page. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 16:56, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

That's pretty cool! --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 16:57, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

I didnt keep dates specifically, all i remember is it is 100 days ending 25th November, it was around the time Richmond Hills became a non-ghost town. DanceDanceRevolution 22:20, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Looks to be a few days before or after the ransack change.--Karekmaps?! 22:35, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
It was a few days after the ruin add. Hence the Extinction Zone growing so rapidly at the start. DanceDanceRevolution 23:51, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Red record

i counted 54 red blocks on todays shot. 1 more and it'll be a record --~~~~ [talk] 22:22, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

55 --~~~~ [talk] 22:08, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
And the recored is topped at 59 today. I updated it. Be watching over the next few days though, as it might get higher if nothing is done.--DaegorDude 07:47, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Screenshot shows only 57 on 9th, there's no screenshot for 10th yet (Memoman accidently uploaded 9th for 10th) and it is due only today evening (yours is just 4 hours after Memoman's 9th! we're trying to keep relatevely uniform flow here) --~~~~ [talk] 09:45, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Made screen for 10th. 64. --~~~~ [talk] 20:57, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
65 now, someone make a screenie. Also, we are about to break the record for lowest number of safe suburbs, so get ready to update both at the same time. The man 01:42, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Screens are made once a day, not more often --~~~~ [talk] 07:14, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

The red record today (26 Mar 2008) says 71; the screenshot has only 68 reds.--Ersatzreality 19:55, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Internet Wayback Machine

Thanks to cctoide for pointing out this --~~~~ [talk] 22:29, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

What IS that and how does it work? DanceDanceRevolution 07:18, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
They cache files of any internet resource every few days, depending wether there were changes. Thus you can go "back" and see how the page looked on certain day in the past --~~~~ [talk] 07:27, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

200 Days in urban dead (sequel, yeha?)

check it out? Should I put it on the bottom of this S/H page next to its brother? EDIT: Because this is potentially of interest to any Urban Dead user, and its the sequel to the most-watched video on youtube related to Urban Dead (even the rickrolls), would I get flamed if I put this on the news template on the main page? DanceDanceRevolution 13:12, 29 April 2008 (BST)

Nice. What dates does it cover? Is the time each image is displayed related to how long a period of time the image represents, assuming archieved images are not taken at equal intervals?
If you mean Template:Lastupdate, yes, you'd get flamed and likely charged with vandalism. There's plenty of hard working folks creating useful UD related websites and wiki pages; they don't get to slap them up there, which is so far reserved for actual game update news. Making a special exception ere seems poor precedent.
A link on the "external links" are of the navigation template may be OK, but then again, its not something people need to navigate to more than a few times. Not that its not very cool to watch... SIM Core Map.png Swiers 18:07, 29 April 2008 (BST)
Awesome video. Unfortunately you cannot put it right into main page, but maybe talk:main_page (it's visited alot) and all those forums everywhere... --~~~~ [talk] 19:14, 29 April 2008 (BST)

Easter Egg

i wonder how many people have noticed the lil' easter egg that i put in this page :) --People's Commissar Hagnat [talk] [wcdz] 02:18, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
